- We’ve been looking for the perfect hiking, hunting, backpacking chest holster for quite a while now. Most holsters are too bulky, the straps are too thick, and belt holsters get in the way of the hip straps on a big backpack. We finally found the perfect chest holster. 1:04 I always carry both. Bear spray won't work in strong winds.
I like chest holsters but the only issue I have is when I want to use my binos on a chest harness I then have to carry my pistol on my hip. Usually on my pack's belt.

great informative vid. bought one for my G20. Leather is so much quieter too than Kydex types, especially for hunting use. But I will cover the buckle with Stealth strip material, to quiet the plastic buckle somewhat.

Best holster ever. Been wearing mine since 2016. I have the brown leather for my Glock 20. Great quality. Better than kydex in my opinion. Retention snap is perfect
Excellent review. Hunting hogs in Texas, it's so important to have a sidearm as a backup. Those chubby beasts will charge you without warning, right out of the brush. And you never know what else is going to jump out in the woods.
Would it work with a bino harness on??
Thats the best pack ever made, well at least from a performance stand point. I came here looking for a holster to wear with mine, as I never realized a hip holster will not work with it.

Thanks, very helpful review! I've been looking (unsucessfully) for a quality thigh holster for a Glock 40 to use while hiking with a camera backpack. This is a viable option.
Pistol is good for Human encounters as well...When you meet people in an isolated spot you are far more vulnerable than you think.
mwnciboo it’s much more effective toward human when come to weapon if you conceal it

I’m not a huge fan of thumb brakes, but have them on a few holsters.

Looks very nice! The glock 20 was my first choice for a bear gun around here but the bank said otherwise :) I settled with a cheap .357 snub nose from charter arms until i can get the glock. Enjoyed the video guys!
Anything bear take a .44, if .44 not applicable (like how I'm not 21), take something higher than a .308
.357 is nothing to sneeze at. I think it was two years ago in Montana when (after bear spray did not stop the grizly) and the hiker dropped the bear with one shot to the head with a .357. He thought he killed it, but when he went back with the ranger, they only found blood and some hair. The revolver did not kill the bear, but it did knock him out long enough for the guy (and the others he saved) to get away.
I’ve been looking for something just like this for hiking! Need something with easy access, wearable with backpack and doesn’t limit mobility in rough or steep terrain. Have you had any female feedback on this style?
Outstanding location. Can you attach a magazine pouch to the system?
How is it when hiking/walking? Does it move around a lot? Seems like with a pack on it would sinch it down good, but may be flimsy if wearing with pack off and hiking.

That's a nice rig . I've been trying to find something more comfortable that doesn't interfere with my backpack straps , while hiking in Appalachiastan.

I have this holster with the nylon straps for my G20. It's definitely high quality but man was it uncomfortable on a 6 mile hike with a 50L backpack. I was adjusting every hour.. also the back nylon cut was not a clean burn, had to wrap with a bandaid to cushion. May switch to a drop leg..

I’ve watched a few of your reviews and before this one I’d have thought you were anti-gun. Now I realize how you just have to be careful with what you say in all your videos, because of the diverse audience you have. It needs a belt strap on the barrel side of the holster so you don't have to hold the holster to draw

How noisy is it if you are trying to draw quietly? I am in between this and the kenai. The kydex on the kenai might be too noisy for trying to draw on a deer at 50 yds. So I am considering leather

When hiking or backpacking in a forest I can see the point of using bug spray, but bear spray smells really really bad.
Not as bad as a Grizz when he's on top of you and chewing on you.

They would interfere with each other. If you want to wear a binocular harness I recommend using a drop leg holster.

It’s a nice rig however it needs to be higher on chest to be effective especially bear attacks as if you end up on your stomach you won’t be able to draw weapon in that low front position makes all prone draws difficulty
Will a Glock 20 put a charging bear down?
Yes, it is a viable option. 10mm round is sufficient.
If u have to use a handgun it is as good as most of us can hit with. I have never shot one but do have ammo that says 728 ft. pounds,
And u do have 15 rd. mag.
I think Underwood Ammo 10mm FMJ's (155 gr) (774 ft lbs energy)
Also people are replacing the g20 barrel with a longer barrel that has a fully supported chamber, and then there had load so pretty hot ammo pushing 900-1000ft lbs of energy.
Get you some 10mm ammo from Double Tap... make sure its the "hardcast" rounds. 1,300 fps, and 750 ft lbs from a 200 grain bullet. They used that round to kill THREE cape buffalos in Africa.
If only this was made for pistol with a silencer on it.
