Absolutely love Raye, what a talent! Got stifled by the music industry for so long, now getting proper recognition. Her London accent really comes through, plus what a powerful diva jazzy soul voice she has.
I am so obsessed with her. Every live performance is amazing and exactly why people like live shows. She never sings the same song in the same way twice.
I'm the most excited by her of any artist in a long time. One of the best parts about this is that the Royal Albert Hall performance is over a year ago and she's only gotten more skilled and ornamented in her runs since then. I can't imagine how she'll be even more technically advanced in 5 years.
Really think UK music has some incredible young artists who all play with genre and expectations. Raye, Ren, Sam Tompkins, Chinchilla, Little Simz, The Skinner Brothers, Dave, Scarlett Fae, Eden Nash, Ruby J - all do more than one thing and do it so well.
she has sooo many incredible songs that it’s a crime to not listen to, and her live performances are like a time machine to the perfect world we dream of
I love how she’s an amazing storyteller with her music and the vulnerability in her voice going back and forth from spoken to singing brings us all in for the ride. 💙👏👏👏
Indeed … As mentioned before … Finally another Raye masterclass … Wunderbar … Imagine if they could get Raye,Ren & Chinchilla to share a stage 😳 … One can but dream …
I’m so excited that you’re getting into more Raye. Raye and Faouzia have restored my faith that music can still be great and will still be live. These 2 women are going to be legends and we are lucky enough to be here for the birth of it
They’re my two favorites as well. Raye is my favorite discovery this year. Faouzia is my favorite artist of this entire decade, though I discovered her in 2019. Lol.
Oh my gosh I loved this reaction so so much ,, she is a true badass for sure. She just moves around her vocal cadence so smoothly. Her whole body was completely in sync, I loved it. Thank you for doing your reaction in this format. It really felt so connected. xx
I’ve seen so many reactions to this performance and LOVED your explanation of her belt. It’s a highlight to her skill and craft and you really broke it down so beautifully. 👏👏👏
The song is about her confronting a man, who she had previously known and trusted, that had spiked her drink. Apparently he cried and acted the victim, which became the unfortunate inspiration for the song.
Not wholly true. While the event did happen she had already written the song and when he started crying she said to herself "Oh, I have a song for this".
Great reaction! My spotify wrapped this year is going to be all Sleep Token and RAYE. My friend said that they couldn't be more different, but I disagree. They both love to play with different genres and the artistry is off the charts. I've always described my music tastes as eclectic and any music that really comes from the heart and makes you feel something is good music to me.
GREAT reaction to Raye again, my friend! I subbed to you after your first reaction to her, and I see now that it was the right thing to do. You need to listen a whole lot more to her, I promise 🙂 Love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥
Raye has been nominated for best new artist! And it has made me super conflicted because I love both her and Chappell's music- they both hit different yet similar requirements in my brain and heart and are phenomenal performers. I would love to see them both get grammys. And Tim- a request- Adam Lambert's Cher tribute of 'believe'. I know it is a 5 year old video but since this channel celebrated raw performances and emotion i would love to see you react to that.
If you think this is great, please, please pretty please watch her MTV 2024 EMA performance. Phenomenal live performance. Gave me goosebumps. She did an arrangement of Oscar Winning Tears, Escapism and Body Dysmorphia. This is nothing, the best is yet to come from Raye.
I first saw and heard her perform in early October on the American Music Awards where she performed It's a Man's Man's Man's World (although they usually just call it It's a Man's World, which isn't the correct title). I thought she was great. She even does scatting at the end. That performance is better than one she did at a festival earlier, at least the production is better. Here is the link, although I doubt you'd be able to use it because the AMA has pretty tight of copyright control. ua-cam.com/video/68SGKuh6Muo/v-deo.html
Genesis! Or you could do the medley that she performed for the Brit awards show? That would give you something of a overview of what she can do? You know Raye was signed to a record label who allowed her to write songs for some big name artists but refused to allow her to release anything of her own? 10 years she put up with that, and it had a bad effect on her, before going independent. Bet they're feeling a bit stupid now!
Hey!! Can you please react to the band nothing but thieves? For example “if I get high” or “Amsterdam” by them! I think Connor has one of the best voices and I need more vocal coaches to review them!! Thanks
@@TimWelchVocalStudioReview the live version of 21st Century Blues when she performed at the Royal Albert Hall. The studio album is great but her live performance is on another level.
The truth is,,,,,if RAYE. Didn’t exist,,,we would need to invent her ,,,,, she is KARMA OXYGEN. ❤❤❤❤❤✌✌✌✌👍👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇺🇦🇺🇦🇫🇮🇫🇮🇩🇪🇩🇪🇵🇱🇵🇱🇸🇪🇸🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇩🇰🇩🇰🇳🇱🇳🇱🇮🇹🇮🇹🏴🏴🇷🇺🇦🇺🇺🇸🇨🇭🇫🇷🇸🇮
Her Brit Awards performance and “It’s a man’s world” at the Montreux jazz festival are incredible
lmao I've been BEGGING him to do that performance at Montreux because I just know it'll gag him
Not as good as REN and Sam busking it.
However Ren And Raye would be phenomenal! ❤😂

She performed this whole album with that massive orchestra!
Ahhh!!! For real!?!
@ yeah, Oscar Winning Tears was just the opening number.

THAT is STAR POWER! - RIGHT THERE! WHAT a SINGER! WHAT a PERFORMER! Just Magic.
She's a musical and lyrical genius.
Mate, wrap your ears and eyes around her official video for the song Genesis.
It's a life changing experience.
definitely coming

Thanks!
Raye just received two Grammy nominations, but I don't know how this live album was snubbed, it is an incredible work of art.
Right?! It's a very special performance.
She's all saucy, swaggy & t-t-t-talented!!! 👏
I was introduced to Raye by Ice Cream Man on your channel and now I can’t get enough of her! She’s everything!
Woo hoo! 🙌🏼
She is f’ing amazeballs ❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥
She’s so special seriously
she has sooo many incredible songs that it’s a crime to not listen to, and her live performances are like a time machine to the perfect world we dream of
