I'm so jealous! I wanted to buy this fabric but after lockdown and everything when I finally got to IKEA they didn't have it anymore! Well at least I get to see what the finished dress would've looked like:) and it looks amazing, well done!
So much joy to see you have sewing the lacing holes! My first dress I thought people were crazy for hand sewing them so I used metal grommets...3 of which popped loose the first time I wore it out! Hand sewn is so superior in quiality and look!
You're the second person I've seen size up a pattern and it fits exactly. So lucky, you look gorgeous~. And as for the ending question, full gothic lolita or visual kei, or some traditional clothing from Asia, such beautiful colors and silhouettes.
Wow - amazing work. You make it look so effortless! I'm struggling to make simple men's costume pattern's from Simplicity or McCall's but I realize that, it takes practice and learning the sewing techniques. LOVE IKEA fabrics - they are affordable, some are almost a cotton "canvas" weight and really hold up to a lot of wear! Great content! Can't wait to explore your other content!
Thanks, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! It does take practice, and the journey is fun and rewarding. Keep it up, and I know you will do great! May many exciting projects await you!
Omigosh...i want to talk to you about making me stays and a one-piece version of this dress (i.e., with the petticoat front attached so the gown is only one layer). ...Darn--everything you make, I want!! XD
@@DaisyViktoria Cool, thanks. :) They only grow where there is lots of limestone. So they might be a bit hard to find. They are endangered in many places.
You make this look so simple! Maybe I am overestimating how long my dress will take? hmmmm.... NO! Better to overestimate and be happily surprised, than to assume it is simple. muahahaha!
Aww thank you so much! I agree - I had too many last minute sewing extravaganzas before conventions in my younger years, I like to overestimate and get things done earlier!
Thank you so much! The strawberry gown is staring at me from a heap of beautiful wool and hand trimmings, just side eyeing me and wondering why I've forsaken it so. I delayed with moving and then got totally distracted, and the finishing has proven time consuming. I really need to get on it and finish!
They have such good fabrics!! You should definitely check it for yourself, but I usually can get a full length gown from around 5 or so yards / meters. If I'm not sure, I get a little extra!
Do you know of ikea ships internationally this specific fabric? I don't have ikea in my country but i'm looking for an affordable and sutiable 18th century printed fabric.

Gorgeous dress. It's so fun that IKEA is printing old fabric patterns.
I think so too!
One word: Wow!
Thank you "sew" much!! It was such a fun project!
Well done you, especially the pinked ruffle trim. The Ikea fabric is also pure confection. Love it!

Stunning results, its criminal your channel isn't more popular yet!
Aww thank you!! The costume police are ready to hand out citations for these criminal acts! 😅

OMG a mountain troll? That sounds amazing!!!
@@DaisyViktoria it is such a cool art installation at a hiking trail head

My hometown has all the best fabrics! 😅
So pretty! I have floral fabric for 1790s but haven't tried it yet. I also really like the music near the end of this video
How the heck did I miss this video?! Love love love. I have the same fabric that I bought months ago to make the same style of 18th century dress!!
This is a great dress I love it

Kalkbräken means Limestone Fern in English. Latin: Gymnocarpium robertianum. It's a type of fern. :)
Cool! Thank you so much! I think it would be neat to find one to go with this dress!

That might make my journey to find one a rare quest indeed! I wonder if I can join them at the limestone and blend in with the bunch. 😂

Beautiful dress. But whatever happened with the strawberry gown?

Wow its amazing! How much fabric did you use? I might go to ikea and get some of the sheets myself!
And make something similar! But i dont know how much id need hahq

I thought the blue streak hair was a nod to ikea branding ;P
Georgia women: "Oh no, my stays strap is showing!" "Just wear a fichu, darling."
It’s limestone fern!
This is what it looks like.
