Actually, no, while it is the best, it was not the original version. Song was first recorded by Thomas Wayne and was released as a single on the Fernwood Records label in March 1958
@@radiowollaton8521 Thomas Wayne's version is more uptempo and stands on its own. It was originally released as a "B" side IIRC and probably could have been a hit if it had been promoted properly. I think I read that it got some airplay in NY area, which is probably where Troy Shondell heard it.
@@radiowollaton8521 yes its a good version shaky made some great cover songs just like the 80s rockabilly band the jets with the Johnny Ray cover of yes tonight Josephine

Fantastic!! I have another request please. Money In My Pocket - Dennis Brown. Cheers
I started that one last year, I'll try and get it finished. I love 1970s reggae tracks but they don't get very high viewing figures !
@@radiowollaton8521 Cool. Thanks!
Brilliant, Pat. I didn't know this version, only Shakin Stevens' cover. I think this is the original version.
Thanks Gerhard.

@@jaycharlesjohnson6369 I didn't know that. I've just had a listen, and I quite like his version.

I didn't realise he had recorded the song as well. Just had a listen, it's a good version.

@@djpaul146 Stuart Colman was a great producer. I love the sound he created on those rock n roll tracks.
