Great video. Explained very plainly and concisely without needless chatter from the commentator. Great photography on the video also. Clear and easy to see what the commentator is talking about. Thanks, this will help greatly with my brake job task tomorrow.
Great👊 just remove the annoying background music / noise
Thanks! Most youtube videos have too much rambling and the video is not clear and/or from a good angle. I had one issue when I was doing this today, found your video and it instantly answered my question clearly. Good job.
Now this is how instruction videos should be done..well done to those that put this together..you deserve many more than the 117k views..I cant thank you enough.
Do I need a power socket wrench or will a socket set do ? How tight do I put the bolts back on exactly? Thanks.
Normal socket set works just fine. Just arm tight is good. Thanks for watching!
great video well done just saved lots of $$$ and did the job my self thank you
I've got a 2009 kia sportage. This video helped a lot, but I was having problems with my caliper slides. I found a video explaining that some of the slides have this little rubber boot on the bottom that gets gunked up. So I ripped it off, cleaned and greased the slides. Good as new. Thanks for the video!
What's the best tool to remove the caliper mounting bracket bolts? (around the 1 minute mark). I attempted this recently, and could not do it by hand with a socket wrench. I assume some sort of air ratchet, but I don't know which ones are powerful enough to remove the bolts, especially if they have rust on them.
You might need a breaker bar to get more leverage on the bolt.
ANYONE KNOW WHAT ARE APPROPRIATE SIZE SOCKETS AND WRENCHES NEEDED FOR THIS THOSE BOLTS ON THE BRAKE?? This dude didnt say
can someone post a video on the 2004-2010 Kia sportage 2000cc diesel engine replacement of the diesel filter
Hello, thank you for great video. I am the owner of the 2010 Kia Forte. I am planning to change my break pads and rotors. I would like to ask you how tight do you fasten two screws holding the rotor on the hub? Also how tight do you fasted bolts on caliber bracket and caliper itself? Thank you .
whats the front and rear torque specs?! for the bolts please
thank you for this great video, helped a lot ! :-) ...can you do a video of the rear brakes as well ?
Only thing I'd like is if you had included the socket sizes, really would have helped so I can know what sizes I'll need BEFORE starting this..
Yeah this is an old video. I thought back then people would just use trial and error like I do. Thanks for watching!
Hi.
La kia sportage 2002
4x4 automatica
Great video!!! Time to go change the pads on my wife’s car as her Mother’s Day gift 🎁 💝 🤗
Thanks for watching! Great gift too!
2CarPros it went seamlessly ... except I didn’t notice the shim plate, that the piston presses against on the rear, until I was about to toss the old pads and had to take the rear wheels back off to put it on the new pads. 🤣🤣🤣
HI SOMEONE STOLEN YOUR VIDEO
Thank you so much for letting me know! I have reported all of those videos and they should be taking down shortly.

+Geri Tisdale Hey no problem glad we could help! Please subscribe if you have not already.
Sick music clean video!
Do you think a little screw is going to do anything other than hold rotor in place so it doesnt fall WHILE VEHICLE IS BEING MANUFACTURED ON PRODUCTION LINE..your rotor is held on by the rest of your braking components and the wheel..
You got it. Thanks for watching!
@2CarPros you installed the screw anyways, you overachiever you =p
Changing rotors and pads this weekend, thank you for making this video!
Excellent video, I'm curious if this is possible to do without the automatic sockets you used in the video to take off the bolts in the back, and use something by hand. Apologies very exhausted and can't think their specific names. Thanks !
This was a great tut! I just got a 2005 Kia Sportage and plan on being very proactive with her maintenance.
Thank you so much for watching!
Glad I came across your video, great job!
Awesome quick simple to the point and thorough looking for more from you hopefully shocks and springs lol
kia sorento 2006 and kia cerato 2013 is the same brake pad???
What size socket and wrench is necessary for the caliper/caliper mounting bracket bolts/nuts?
14mm
Don't forget to undo the brake reservoir cap, before compressing the bake caliper piston. Not mentioned here.
Failure to do so might lead to the reservoir cracking under pressure.
This is incorrect the reservoir cap is not air tight and does breath allowing the fluid to go back into the reservoir. Thanks for your input though please subscribe.
can you show a video 2010 Kia sportage diesel oil change
My rotor lug nut is stuck; advice?
Do you know what size is this screw in 5:50 ?
What is the name of the electric/air tool for open the caliper socket?
air ratchet it is air powered in this video. a 14mm wrench would work also.
THX GUYS,VERY USEFUL TUTORIAL!
Is this the same for a 2001 kia sportage
Are these procedures the same for the 2004 KIA Sorento?
Gregory P Yes same procedures but might look a little different.
Ekse in my country it is called a brake disc
Yeah you can use either rotor or disc. Same thing. Thanks for watching!
is it the same for a 2011 sportage?
They should be very close to the same
Thanks for the vid, great help!
Kia Soul 2010
is it the same procedure for the rear brakes
If they are drumbs n not calipers.. then no. Go look at ur car.
Is this about the same for a kia rio?
Very similar. Thank you for watching!
Great and simple video!
Thank you for watching!
How do you know when you've reached brake pressure?
+Tiffany McLeod You will feel it in the pedal. After you install the new pads and put everything back together, the brake pedal will go straight to the floor when you press it. Just continue to press it as shown in the video until the pedal feels normal again and no longer goes to the floor. About 10 pumps should do the trick. I usually test them in the driveway, and then take a spin through the neighborhood to be sure they are working properly.
