I'm pretty sure this entire place BURNED DOWN, or a large portion of it. I recently tried to go back here, it was closed due to the Bobcat Fire last year. I'm really sad, and hope the beauty of this isn't destroyed :(

I ran across your video while researching the origin of the current Bobcat Fire. I'm not a biker, but found this interesting. The downhill looks fun, but do you the have to peddle back uphill the way you came?? That seems hard!

You start at the bottom, there is a parking lot just north of the ride. You then do a pretty hard 7+ mile climb to get to the top, the last 1/4 mile your off the bike pushing it uphill. The scenery is amazing, and the ride down is a blast. Since the road is closed to public cars (careful I once almost hit a firetruck on the way up) most people wont walk more than a mile or two, after that, it's mostly untouched since the 70's. Like a trip back in time to old campsites, and signs, and improved areas that are graffiti free, trash free. Hope the fire didn't reach it.

@@SurrealAdventure Thanks. I would need to do a lot of preconditioning to be able to do that. As for The Bobcat Fire, it started at the Cogswell Reservoir, but surprisingly there's a swath of acreage to the north that hasn't burned, but the perimeter on the west, south and east did burn. Not sure which part the track is on that you ride your bikes. Open the CalFire map, go down to Los Angeles and then zoom in on the Bobcat Fire. You can see the burn surrounding Cogswell.www.fire.ca.gov/incidents/
