Now I wonder : wouldn't it be possible to do quite the same thing on the shoulder straps? Sure it would be bulky but one could end up storing 50+ meters of cord in an empty bag so to speak !
You could make your inner hank longer and thinner so that it doesn't add too much bulk to the strap. It will take longer to attach, but it will carry more cord than the original method for sure.
Well for EDC of course it's a tad overkill but for instance when preparing for several days of hiking I always end up with a bundle of rope in the bottom of my bag, it would be useful for storage optimisation
Method of on measure cut only to finish. Instead of passing the entire length of cordage under the handle or strap pass just a loop and capture the bite as you do. Repeat until the end is reached. Then cut and tie your stop knot. This way you can reel off a spool of large length but only use the correct amount of Paracord but no more than actually needed for the project. That's why I personally like the Slatt's knot for belts, straps and slings. No guessing no waste.
I like the first better.
Dannnng, now i'm gonna have to redo my quick-deploy handle on my backpack! Any chance of doing a kumihimo bracelet? I just got a "wheel" in the mail, gonna give it a shot with microcord using 550 as a core strand.
Really a good one, thanks so much for it. For the inner part, one might as well use a knitting doll which also gives a quick release for the hank along with some beauty and less tingling... and the idea of tying to a handle is priceless! Thanks so much!
You must be Celtic. You're a bro with weaving knots.
Very creative and interesting.. 👍👍
You do not have to pull the whole cord through the handle very time. Just loop from one side.
must not eat the forbidden hotdog paracord.,..,...,.....
You're aware you don't have to pull the whole length under the handle, right? You only need a bite.
Brilliant video! I love this channel. We need more videos like this. Quick deploy
Ok that is too bloody cool!
Wow really cool! Did it for my backpack top handle and managed to squize in about 50ft of paracord. Could've used more but the handle would've been to fat to hold in my hand...
Combining this with a figure 8 wrap of the core package would probably be even more reliable when undoing it.
But didn't try how it will look with that.
Eyyy nice. I have ~12 feet of paracord in my pocket using the same quick deploy method with a marlin spike I made weaved in along one side of the quick release channel that keeps it from being deployed till the spike is removed.
Can this be done on the nylon Handle of a VertX Gamut 2.0 backpack ? As it's not as stiff as backpacks shoulder straps
This is amazing! I did a figure 8 wrap to start with because I have such a hard time with tangling. I was able to use a LOT. Perfect for my medical bag and bug out bags
If I were you I would wrap the loop around the Mitch rather than the Hank.
So much better than a king cobra handle wrap lol
Yeah this is great anytime I can save space is a good thing
exactly what I was looking for!
Is it possible to attach the hank under the handle to soften the handle grip before making the wrap, or is it too loose to actually hold in place like that?
Yes, you could definitely do that. As long as you wrap tightly the hank should stay in place.
That is a wonderful idea.
Thanks for the lessons
Tyvm
You are so creative it makes me angry, thanks for the video!
Thank you for the kind words, but I'm really not that creative. I learn a lot of these concepts elsewhere and translate them to video form. Thanks for commenting!
💕👌👍
This is fantastic.
👍🏻 Thank you
Brilliant!
Which type of thread you use?
550 paracord
Ok
Damn it I'm almost the first!
