  • I bought a used printer that "needed firmware" because the level sensor was just replaced. I contacted Tronxy and got the firmware loaded easily enough after rebuilding the main assembly because everything was loose and misaligned when I picked it up. I tried to auto level the bed but it just homes on x and y and the bed drops away and the print head goes and sits in the corner. Any ideas?
UPDATE Wiring issue addressed on the PCB. Made a new video: • Update on Tronxy X5SA....

Mine is an X5SA 2E, the firmware that tronxy support sent me is completely buggy. The hotend starts to heat up on its own, freezes or displays, and restarts all the time. I'm thinking about using klipper.

I haven't thought much about klipper yet, but I hear good things. I've been ordering parts to convert to a vzbot. Once I get the hardware switched over I'll finally order the rest of the electronics for klipper.

The tronxy probe gives always problems, the way out I took this problem out was to simply take out the probe and place a cheap bltouch of 10€, its a little more precise and its by far more common to find support than that probe and shouldnt give you problems if you use any firmware on your printer

Ever since the repair, it hasn't been much of a problem. I think the bed might be a bit warped based on the mesh bed level readout after auto leveling. I have since printed a new spool holder and extruder mount to move everything to the rear and reduce the width so I can move the printer to another table.

I haven't tried input shaping on any of my printers yet. I got a sonic pad recently for my ender 3 with a volcano nozzle so I can speed it up a bit. I need to do an extrusion speed test on this one to see how fast I can melt with this hot end.
