Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with Update. I would suggest you run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your Windows update.
METHOD 1 :
1). Open this PC and Go into C Drive.
2). In C Drive go into the "Windows" Folder.
3). then go into SoftwareDistribution Folder.
4). then Go in to "Download".
5). Then Delete the Latest Update Folders and restart the system.
METHOS 2 :
Refer to these steps:
1. Press Windows key + X, select Control panel.
2. Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
3. Click on Troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
4. Run the Windows Update troubleshooter.
5. Restart the system and check if the issue is resolved.
Please revert if you face any issues with Installing Windows updates.

HELP ME
when I try to install the new windows update on my gaming laptop
its stuck at downloading 100%
I have a storage of 894 gb empty
It isn't installing help!
Try to delete this one update from windows folder 📂 then go to software distribution folder 📁 then go to download folder 📁 then delete all and restart system and again download it it will install automatically.

this is often caused by a bad download/checksum error. delete the update and let it re-download on a stronger or more stable internet connection
Weeks I've been dealing with this I didn't think I'd ever get it.... you are my savior
windows update option is just loading and loading. I can't even see if there are any updates available or not. when going to services and starting windows update, it won't start and keep reverting back to disabled. please help fix this.
It worked.. as expected, I was having issues with the Windows Cumulative Update not installing after restart, I forced installed it using the Windows Update Catalog website but it just kept popping as "pending restart", I erased the Software Distribution content within the current date, and now it worked, Thanks a lot!

Nice! I encountered this problem a couple of weeks ago when restoring my system from a restoring point and it produced for me to not being able to install the update after the restart. I followed all your steps but, in my case, I deleted the folder inside DOWNLOADS in the folder SOFTWARE DISTRIBUTION, so it's in the folder download where I found the update and after deleting, downloading and restarting everything was fine. My Laptop fan starts running at higher speed and making noise when the updated comes...after deleting that files you told...it is still running fast again and again...What should I do.
When cou goes high definitely fan will run on its high speed
It also not working. It again shows on restarting that we couldn't complete the update and undoing changes. After 7% update completing.
In my pc, installing goes to 100% but it not shows restart required. An then i have to download it again and again

After updating my windows 10, I get pop up of DLL files that needs repair as they were not updated... Basebrd.dll batmeter.dll, shellbrd.dll, imageres.dll, stobject.dll... the pop up keep asking me to repair... Please help

It's not pc problem it simple update are not compatible with current system i would suggest wait for some days it will install without any problems
