What size of rope? Thickness? Also, is there a calculation for knowing what size produces what length fender?

      I use 12mm polypropylene
Regarding rope lengths , I have just experimented and by trial and error roughly worked out what lengths work for each fender

Cheers. I think I will try 5/8 just over 15 mill because I have an 18 meter dutch wide beam barge.

Just had a thought, I do that sometimes. When you cross over the first rope and create the loop, could you not make it bigger, to push through the whole coil of the rope? It would certainly speed things up, maybe use something like a small carabiner, to keep the rope coiled up. Just a thought.

I have tried that Graham but you do need to have the four ropes very organised , which can be time consuming!!

Not knowing shit about it I would think the twisting/ untwisting would be near impossible with the rope being passed by the handful .

      Glad you enjoyed the vlog.
The 4ft fenders used rope lengths at 29ft
