It's not necessarily about proper positioning on the front rack, but how to get over the hurdles that keep you from being able to properly front rack. This is exactly what I needed.

Oh adn I appreciate that this is MOBILITY tutorial... and not a squat tutorial. It seems people missed the point of this thing. I know how to squat, and how to rack I just need help with mobility in my wrist and triceps so I can get my front rack. thank you for the video...and as I said, Ill report back

Appreciate this video. I spend a lot of time back squatting, bench, DL and decided to start implementing more front squat into my routine. Had some of these exact issues and am going to work through some of your suggestions.

My S&C coach linked me to this video and your channel as I am trying to increase my power cleans, and my catching position is really bad. Thanks so much for these tips I will give them all a go and see what I can do!

+Mick Vestergaard Hansen they did help a bit but my main thing is to warm up with a resisted shoulder extension the catching position with an unloaded bar. if someone pushes down on your elbows it works wonders!

HEY - ANYONE at 2:50 kelly mentions neurological compression at this point, and goes on to say if "an athlete is having problems or weird tension...here or here theres a problem"
That is a difficult position for me, does he have a video devoted to this?

tendonitis have been killing me in my elbows the last 3 weeks, not because of bench , im a very good bencher, but because of squats. I hold very wide but still my hands are (like you show in the video) bendt and I can barely hold it, any suggestions on what I can do, to maybe improve mobility?

MY front rack is GOD AWFUL. I power clean 245...and I can get any higher because I cant do a squat clean. My pull is all the way to my chin with 245...but I cant drop or make a rack. This is the first GOOD video Ive seen with excercises to hopefully fix my problem. Im going to start doing some of these and respond back in a month.
Yesterday during my WOD I ahd to stop because of the pain in my wrist... im forced to do front squats cross arm like you showed. NO flexability in my wrist

  • @MeisterdipperGAP

I'm screwed! After breaking both my wrists in a freak mountainbike accident my wrists are not flexible anymore. My clean & jerk looks like shit because my elbows point downwards as a result of my inflexible wrists. Frontsquat is also a no go for me. Just doing it for a week and my PR is 90kg (bw = 85kg) with a power clean.

  • @GIboy1990

I have great flexibility, abnormal even but recently I've been getting a pain in my shoulder blade, is there anything you know I'm doing wrong that I could fix so I can go back to front squating, jerking and any exercise from the front I've been lifting 2 years so I'm pretty experienced I just don't know how to fix this problem and it keeps getting repeat injured thank you.

I recently failed on a front squat PR using the clean grip. I got the depth but as I was coming up my shoulders rounded which caused a lot of strain to put on my wrists, causing me to fail the lift. I didn't bail out with the weight correctly and now I have noticeable pain in my right radius and very minor pain in other areas of the wrist. I am thinking it's sprained, but I would appreciate if anyone else could give me an answer.

I get a lot of pain in my left wrist when I do front racks. I've broken my arm 3 times and had one of the bones flipped so that I have the ability to turn my hand up instead of down. I can't touch my shoulder or do the weird eye thing. What can I do to gain more mobility?

Don't feel bad. i watched several of his videos and I have a hard time following what he is saying. The rhythm of his speech is such that he says several words in an even succession then there's a sudden burst of several words blurred together like one long fast word. Maybe it's just me. I just may not be good at listening to fast talkers. But the rhythm is hard to get used to when you're not ready for that sudden lightning fast string of words. I really dig the exercise ideas he has, though.

i have a client who has practiced pilates for many years, her flexibility and strength is extremely good, yet she cannot achieve a good front rack position. I don't think it stems from her back, it's driving us both crazy... possible due to an old shoulder injury but will have a go at some of these stretches, thanks.

Hey Kelly, I don't know if u reply to these or even look at these but i recently had an injury cuz I didn't shoot my elbows up when I caught the clean at the bottom position so the elbows ended up smashing against the knees and I felt this sharp pain shoot up from my elbows to my wrists, is there any way to stretch them out cuz I have limited mobility on my wrist, will the exercises on this video and other videos involving wrist and elbow mobility be enough or is there anything else I can do??

DINO CAPRA idk man, stretching pulls on the ligaments, and if you sprained them in your hand and wrist like me, it could just prolong the injury. I'd save all the stretching for after your recovery period. But that's just me

Nah its to you, if you know how to front squat then why do you need to watch the vid?
The 8min video is there for people that can't aim their "lazer's" at peoples faces, or once they start squatting they lose it and start aiming down. Some people are tight, and this guy is giving them a way to work on it.

Front rack mobility is even more important than actual glutes strength for the front squat. I struggled a lot before I realised I had mobility issues, then my front squat improved dramatically: ua-cam.com/video/4EPq413rkpo/v-deo.html
