When I had my first bike I only had a permit. Got pulled over on a highway after dark... the permit said no highway, no passenger, no night driving. The cop ran my plates and license and only gave me a warning... (I had stopped bike, put in on kickstand, took off helmet and gloves and took out my paper work before he approached bike)....

You got warned and went on your merry way knowing you were wrong from the jump. The officer doesn't know your intentions or anything about you but you showed some common sense and acted like you had some sense about you and made it a painless stop. You could have told the cop to go get fucked and gave him the finger and his mother has sex with donkeys and screamed all the excuses of a sovereign citizen and he would have put little knots on your head and arrested you and had the bike towed and you would have posted it on UA-cam and put more fuel to the fire that's building in America these days. Plate on the bike was fake, as stated by the biker. This can be seen as one of two things; one, subject is trying to avoid tickets, or two, bike is stolen.
Here's the thing. There's always going to be situations when this doesn't happen. More often than not. But the important thing to keep in mind is that if you keep a level head and try get on the cop's level, then things are more likely to work out than if you rage and try to beef it off with the cop.

I'm not ordinarily a superstitious person, but if I'm riding a bike and escape from a cop I'm not flipping him off until I'm at home on the couch with a brew and a toke watching the video on t.v. I do believe in Fate and Karma. Often they ride together. And they have your plate...the real one.
Well said. I'm not giving him a chance to actually get good footage of me or for me to bin it trying to flip him off. I'm rolling the throttle out like a sleeping bag and getting out of sight. Running is risky and a fast bike and light experience make you feel invisible. You're not. All it takes is the police showing up to your door or a bad fall to make you realize how vulnerable this sack of blood and muscles and pus is.

Until one day I got a letter from the state saying I had so many points...I thought I'd won something. Nope, not in that game. License pulled for a year. I learned my lesson before I literally hit the road. Which I'm sure would have happened had I not stopped, or been stopped. Thanks for the story. You live and learn...to stay living.

This was my question. Quarantine means no large gatherings. Riding your bikes in full gear isn't violating that order. "Go home because I'm tired of hearing you" is not a lawful order, and that stop was illegal. That means the only one breaking any law are those old boomer police officers.
