The markedly-Texan accent is because Kansai accents are hard to replicate in English and the closest thing Americans have to a "Kansai accent" is deep southern drawl. I like both her sub and dub voice equally, so the matter of sub vs. dub isn't much of an issue for me--even though it never really is for me anyway. More important to me though is that I respect the way you voiced your opinion. You don't see many people nowadays who complain about the sub vs. dub dilemma and don't actively go out of their way to insult the dub VAs as if they'll actually read it and be offended by it.

Baiken's English voice is just perfect imo. She sounds like a hard old southern, mom.

She sounds rough, because she is. She's supposed to be a bit of a pumpkin, and she's also a heavy smoker. The voice is perfect, not cute.
