Our broody Welsummer hen has been sneaking eggs into her clutch and dutifully sitting on them for ten days. We'll candle the eggs to see how many are developing!

Thanks so much! We ended up with 4 healthy chicks! She brought them outside yesterday and they have graduated from hatchlings to active, happily foraging flock mates 🐣🐥

@@SayWhyChickenThigh Is that pretty average to have 9 fertilized and then 4 chicks? I'm completely ignorant on it so asking out of curiosity.
