I still want a series when Tekking talks about Mythology
Same
Or like animal facts!
Mythology Facts!!!!
Honestly I think kuma writes down the places people dream of going to because of bonny so he can travel with her to those places
Now I have something in my eye.
I love that idea😢
That’s beautiful
Duuuude i had the same idea
Don't know if it is a coincidence, but in aztec mytology, the Sun God Huitzilopochtli moves around the sky because he is fighting the stars. In some versions of the myth, the stars are eldritch maneating monsters. In other versions of the myth, the stars are his brothers who are trying to kill their mother, an earth deity.
In One Piece, we also have the sun going against the "elder stars".
Good stuff
keep cooking
That god also wields a weapon that translates to”fire snake”, which seems like a way more out there reference but it did remind me of luffys burning attack and snake man, maybe just an accidental reference

@@Scroll62-Manga I watched , get a better mic , can barely hear you
My theory is the bible he is holding, is actually kuma’s logbook of his journey and it’s addressed to Bonney. So she can read the journey of Kuma and have all the details of the islands kuma went to, as he promised to find places Bonney and kuma will travel to.
Vegapunk said in the beginning of the ark that he wanted to give "something" to bonny, we saw kuma after the Revolutionaries saved him without his bible, i think vegapunk gonna give it to her as a last gift from kuma, she'll inherit it like any Biological Buccaneer would.
yeah and Robin is gonna kill and eat bonney in order to steal the bible for a read, thats why she is the best
I make One Piece videos
It's quite beautiful how kuma even to the end kept his kindness while facing the ultimate evils of the world.
Hopefully bonney tells robin so she can share his story when the story ends and people know the truth about kuma the saint.
A good person at heart will always be good, no matter what happens to them
Wasn’t Egypt the first civilization to worship the sun?
@@EGYPT.ATREESNo Just the first to come in contact with the Europeans, the first civilization to worship the Sun ( not confirmed by any sources, may be hearsay) was the Meso-American Civilizations.
I make One Piece videos
@@BAlex2209 True indeed, the Mesoamericans did worship the sun independently, but Egypt and Greece were first and second. But none placed the importance that the ancient Egyptians did. Ra, the main god, was literally the sun. Helios wasn’t the main god in Greece. In ancient Egypt Everything revolved around him.
There's also the way the Giants worship the Sun God and the Shandians who viewed the giant snake as the Sun God. It really makes me think about how religion changes over time, and in One Piece a good part of it is probably the WG's influence and erasure of the Void Century. The symbol on the cross of the church (a central large orb, maybe the Sun, orbited by 8 smaller orbs) also appears in things like the Kozuki crest, alabasta's symbol. And might be the represented in the tattoos on Neptunes right arm and Wyper's left arm. Of course the Fishmen race also chasing the Sun in a sense. Similarly to how you bring up the different types of Sun deities in our history, the OP world has its own versions of that.
I make One Piece videos
I think we "know" that there are indeed other "gods" because of the other Skypeian Gods that were mentioned before. The Sun, Rain, Forest, and Earth Gods.
And from what little we know about Kuma's Book, it seems like history is repeating itself. It seems like Nika and/or Joyboy all went on a journey VERY similar to the one Luffy and the Strawhats are on right now. And Kuma's writing COULD be writing in the margins making notes about what each passage actually MEANS. Marking the stuff that's come true or what's already happening.
And I don't think this is even the first time this story has repeated itself. The Void Century of 800 years is the past era that gets mentioned the most in One PIece...but there IS another era that's just as if not more interesting. The change from the Age of Heaven to the Age of the Sea Circle calendars. This world HAS a real dating system, and we're currently on year 1524. Something happened 1524 years ago that changed the entire world's dating system, and it had to be something BIG. Possibly the end of the "Age of Gods" like Nika. And 1524 years ago is AWFULLY close to twice the length of 800 years ago. So, this cycle seems to be repeating for some reason almost every 800 years, give or take a few decades. Something is happening and it seems to be on a schedule.. And the change SEEMS to predate the existence of the World Government, so someone or something else helped organize and enforce the change to a different calendar system.
idk if this goes any further but Nami could be related to rain god and Usopp related to the forest god
I make One Piece videos
Hm good point. Perhaps something religiously significant occurred around 1500 years ago. Calendars usually are based around the emperor (including in Japan, this is still the case although Japan also uses the Western dating as well) or kingly reign, but super long dates like this in the real world mainly seem based on religiously significant figures such as Mohammed's hijra in the Islamic world or Jesus' birth in the West (which is now pretty global). We don't know what exactly, but at least something important must have happened.
I loved the mythology part of this video! Definitely should do more of it.
I'm going with it being Joy boy's logbook and being treated like a Bible. Kinda like what Yamato did with Odens logbook.
the bible having very important information possibly can work really well, Oda is a genius with foreshadowing details the biggest one is Kaido's introduction we see fish scale in his skin, we had no idea that he ate the fish fish fruit until way later
Thank you for a great video guys
I BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE
Thank you for the video! I always enjoy watching your videos! I very much enjoyed exploring mythology with Escanor Tekking!
Keep up the awesome work and videos tekking love the video
Man Love your videos, since you enjoy mithology here in Brazil the amazonian tribes believe in "Tupã" a god responsible for weather, Winds and Thunder, and he is the father of "Guaraci" the Sun god, reminds of Dragon and Luffy
I make One Piece videos
@@Scroll62-Manga that is cool man gönnt Check you out
Tekking pls do more videos about mythology cuz I also love these kinda stuff and like the way you talk about it... 100% would hear you ramble on and on about mythology for hours.
NEW TEKINGGGG
The giant straw hat is definitely big but we dont know how big comparably to Emu's height since he or she has only been in silhouette. Although Iif we take into consideration them sitting on the empty throne as any sort of measurement then I guess we can estimate a little. Point I'm making is Emu could be as tall as Kuma and the hat could be even bigger then we think.
Im subscribed to you and havent had a notification from your channel in more than 6 months youtube is the worst when it comes down to that
My face lit up when i saw the Escanor cosplay, Tekking's videos are always on point :D
Tekking Cosplaying as Escanor to talk about Sun God is the most Tekking thing to do ❤
Considering originally Gecko Moriah was a pastor with a split personality I wonder if Gecko was a follower of Nika or a pastor of that dark faith by the islanders that supposedly summoned Brook on that island from the training arc.
Love useful charts
I have been waiting for a video! Its finally here! Oh my god Escanor Tekking 🌞
You dress as Escanor made my day, thanks so much Matt!!
Regarding Kuma writing in his bible, coming as someone who went to church for a while, its not uncommon for people to write in or mark their bibles. Mostly done by people who are studying it as way to take notes or highlight passages of significance.
I make One Piece videos
Hey Tekking, huge fan of your videos and work. Would be super dope if you had history facts at the end of your videos, im also a huge fan of history as well 😆
BEST CONTENT ON UA-cam
I love your references about ygotas
@27:05 The luya people of Kenya you spoke of is represented directly with the minks
Thank you Escanor tekking for this lovely video 🤵♂️
Tekking you should start an explaining Mythology series I know I and many others would love to watch
W video Tekk
Props for getting the right color duct tape, I didn’t notice until you pointed it out.
I would love a series where you just talks about our world history and mythology.
Your intro reminds me of the movie Mystery Team (must watch).
0:07 Tekking as Lord Escanor Night Form looks pure unadulterated awesomeness.
Love the historical connection to the one piece world, Lovely theory 👌
I like the idea that the Sun Bible contains prompts and places for the reader to write the answers, to give something of their own, and maybe it goes down in the generation as part of the canon text of that particular bible; So that bible might contain the favourite vacation locations of a lot of the people that all of Kuma's ancestors met over their lifetimes
I love how random and whimsical Tekking is. 😂 Escanor Tekking!
Really liked the history tangents
Could the lady on Kuma's bible be related to Nefertari Lili in any way? Lots of people have previously theorized that she had the Paw-Paw Fruit. (Hands of liberation)
If so I'm starting to believe that Joyboy and Lili are the two main protagonists of the Void Century. And it makes sense considering how important Luffy and Vivi's connection is made out to be after chapter 1085.
MAKES SENSE SINCE SHE WAS THE ONE WHO SPREAD OUT THE PONEGLIPHS
HAVING THE PAW FRUIT WOULD BE GREAT FOR THAT
@@Zendae._ it's a possibility she had the bara bara no mi and split them and spread them since its a possibility that they were originally connected
I saw a picture of Eneru laying on his bench. The cross behind him also has the iconography in Kuma's church.
I always think about the Sunne in Splendour of King Edward IV, where he saw 3 suns in the sky before a battle and took it as a sign of victory for the sons of York in the Wars of the Roses.
When you mentioned the beetle pushing the sun up into the sky it reminded me about luffys love of beetles
Kuma's Bible is like the death note but for travelling 🦄
We need a tekking talks about mythology series
The story about the sun and moon being like bickering siblings is close to how Nekomamushi and Inurashi were on different light cycles on Zou
Tekkin you going yo finish the live action reviews? Finished the series recently myself and i actually like how they take coby in this direction kinda like that coby spin off you made a video on
Hope they add hibari and prince gruce for season 2 to get them sooner and probably even make another kaya moment happen
One piece hype for life great 👍🏻 video nice 👍🏻 hype!!!!!!!
Love the videos keep them up
During the XVIII Dynasty also there was Ra-Horakhti, an union between Ra and Hor and before itn (Aton - wich was at that point just another ancient and forgotten deity, worshipped later during the Amarnian Revolution) the 'zenit sun' - the New Kingdom is considered the 'golden age' and most of the common knowledge and stereotyped point of view about 'ancient egyptian history comes from this important period (1550 - 1069 b.c.) - and btw as a fellow egyptologist is always nice to hear on youtube good historycal reconstrunction! Cheers
I can't wait to find out more about the Lunarians, Buccaneers, Giants, and even what role the tonetottas (Greenbit people) played in the past
Nailed the costume
27:26 this reminds me of the terminalmontage where kirby slaps the sun and moon
Greetings from Paraguay 🇵🇾
Kuma is definitely in my top 5 favorite characters
HELL YEAH MYTHOLOGY EPISODE
tekking very funny u brought up the luyha people from kenya since i am a luyha and i can confrim that it is a folk tale in our tribe ty for a shoutout lol!
Brother, the Kenyan myth of the Creator God Parent figure, dude that was totally out of Zou arc! Neko and Dukedom! Would have loved to hear that from you, much Love bro, stay shiny 🤘
an Escanor reference on one of the best OP channels was a pleasant surprise
i just realized why merphy calls kuma "papa", she was saying "paw paw", but now papa is really a better name, as he is a father and the biggest representative of the sun god religion
7:48, I was thinking of zunesha 🥲
7:58 i was thinking of zunisha
Tekking you look great with that mustache lol
I assumed when Kuma wrote in the Bible before sending and off Perona he was making a log as to where he was sending her. So I just always assumed he uses it as a log book to keep track of where he is sending everything.
I'm sure I can't be the only one who thought of Dogstorm and Catviper when you mentioned the Kenyan story.
the sun god Inti always puts me mind of Gali from Monster Rancher
With the buccaneers I thought it was kinda funny that shanks is called a buccaneer on the back of first volume of one piece in the summary
It makes me wonder what exactly was Kuma reading in chapters like 234 when he arrives at Marijoa. He seems so casual about it. Got my mind thinking after going through the events of this flashback.
Was he reading or writing?
Hey tekking loved the video and i know this isn't related but Ive been thinking that kuzan might betray blackboard since he's the only one of the titanic tne captains that inst named after some sort of alcohol it may be silly but oda does like to do stuff like that yknow? id love to know what you think about this little idea.
Yo, the Luhya people at the end literally describes Dogstorm and Cat Viper. 😂
If you ever run out of anime, please turn to history and mythology. Id binge that stuff from you.
I definitely think there are more gods and devil fruits modeled after them. I think I remember you saying how Blackbeard has some weird connection to the moon, so what if his darkness devil fruit is actually a moon god modeled devil fruit?
3:38 The world government actually is a christian cross variation, called a cross pommee, also sometimes spelled as cross pommy
I feel like saying "Susanoo gets up into a bunch of crazy shenanigans" is like saying "Zeus had a few wild nights".
Kuma's black and white outfit could be to represent the Kumamoto prefecture mascot
I don't know why Tekking doesn't just make a History channel, where he just talks about world history and geography
24:50 Right as I've been getting into Ōkami.
I feel like tekking would love blue jay explaining the Egyptian gods
The cross at sorbet reminds me of mihawks sword handle
Now that you mention it there is a similarity in the story to the Luhya peoples sun and moon interpretation with the Mink tribe’s Inu and Neko.
22:55 damn Hixous too. You're making me nerd out here too. History and Mythology is so much fun lol
Translated it means Shepard kings, and is also supposedly a derogatory term for the people who invaded.
Speculation time while looking at history, it can be assumed, the only people it could have been would have been Caanites or people from what is today Israel, but not the Israelites (although they may have also came too).
Its funny having just watched a video explaining how usopp and luffy are 2 sides of the same coin then we see kuma's bible with possibly nika on one side and a sniper cross hair on the other
I think the emblem on the back of the Bible and kumas shirt is the all blue.
This is a pirate anime! X marks the spot. The X being the entrance to the grand line. Where the ancient kingdom was before it was destroyed and covered up
7:59
Thought it was gonna be zunesha
Tekking makes history seem way more interesting than anyone I’ve ever seen. WE NEED A CHANNEL😭
What
I have another idea: It was not written BY JoyBoy, but it tells the story OF JoyBoy
I had a thought it could be his log book. Much like Yamato keeps Oden's log book, maybe Joyboy's was passed down Buccaneer bloodlines until it became a religious undertaking.
Best Escanor cosplay ive seen yet #Cosplay #Tekking101
Shout out Amon-Ra, been carrying my fantasy team for 2 years 😂
I think the giant straw hat belonged to Ivankov. His head sizes matches it perfectly
Thanks for saying "sex or gender", really means a lot seeing people be specific
I honestly hope things about the gods of the One Piece world is not involve more that (with the theory that vegapunk made) that people saw mythical creatures and gods and either pray or hope to reach those gods or mythical creatures but thanks to the idea on how this gods or creatures should be and act that how the will of those fruits is created
he do be looking like base escanor but my head cannon is perona pink hair reminded kuma of bonnie thats why he asked her for vacation desired spot
Imagine if instead of a databook we get a version of Kuma's bible to purchase
0:13 Back when the Seven Deadly Sins anime had awesome animation in Season 1-2 and Prisoners of the Sky movie.
The reason why the northern part of Egypt was called Lower Egypt is because it was downstream, same reason why Upper Canada was more south, it was further along the St Lawrence River.
Just FYI that sun made of dots has shown up a number of times before. At Alabasta, Sky Island, and in the Kozuki family symbol.
Sunny video
