    That was a good video man. I’ve got a bunch of Gibsons but I’ve also a few Harley Benton’s. Most of the Harleys are good to go but I’ve always wondered what kind of trouble I might have with a “ drop in” style kit. This video just gave me some confidence. Thanks !

      Thanks for watching. It really was an easy install; some small soldering but doable. Good Luck. Thanks!

      Thanks! This was a fun mod and a nice non-destructive mod you can do to any LP style guitar. Thanks for watching!

    Great Video !.. Well explained and without doubt a great way to add sounds to your guitar..
    The upgrade albeit fantastic it not associated with Jimmy Page during the 'Iconic Led Zeppelin years' . That guitar was was 'Standard 50's Wiring' . As pointed out here, you need 4 Conductor wire pickups to do this which Jimmy didn't have back then.. This mod here was done to Jimmys 'backup #2 Les Paul around 1984 (Well after Zeppelin) For any JP tone chasers, I replicate his live 1973 Madison Square Garden tone on my channel and explain the pickups required.. This mod here though, is definately worthwhile if 'Versatility' is what you are seeking. Nice Video JRG Guitars.

      Thanks for watching. Your point is well taken. Page’s authentic Les Pauls would only be 2 conductor pickups. The sound samples on your video sure do sound on point. Thanks!

    I have the boss katana so I have the les Paul classic so when I split the coils and use a tone patch for sultans of swing or surf medley it sounds pretty close to a strat !!!!

    • @jrgguitars3620
      @jrgguitars3620  2 роки тому

      You can really do a lot with coil splits, EQ and amp adjustments. The Katana has a lot of good tones.

    You will need a new nut , new machine heads, and level of the Frets, intonation can also be a problem with a Harley B 😮

    • @jrgguitars3620
      @jrgguitars3620  6 місяців тому

      The guitar was actually set up pretty well out of the box. The nut was cut well and the tuning machine pretty good. I did a slight truss rod adjustment and set the action to my preference. No high spot on the frets either. I guess I got lucky. Thanks for watching.

      I bought a Harley Benton SC-550. I received it in 3 days played great. All for $400.

      @@hockeyman2274 I think a lot of Harley Benton guitars come in good shape. The price is really good. I had one come with a slight ding on the neck. They took care of the problem and it was no problem.

    Just did this mod to my Les Paul and notice huge high end loss when rolling the vol knob off, did you anything similar ?

      I do notice some high end loss when rolling off the volume on the guitar. Did you use thee same 920D kit? The potentiometers certainly play a role in how the response is.

      @@jrgguitars3620 yes I used the exact same. Trying to figure out to fix that, it makes the VOL knob pointless really

      @@majd.z I think the answer to your problem (really both of our problems) is a Treble Bleed kit. 920D and many others sell these inexpensive and simple kits.

      I sent an email to 920D regarding this to make sure its the right kit to use with the LP-PAGE wiring harness. There is a lot going on inside the control cavity and I want to make sure about it. Once they get back to me I plan on purchasing and installing. I'll let you know what they say. I'll probably shoot another follow up video with tones samples also. Now that you brought it to my attention I can't "unhear" it.

    920 sent me 2 new JP kits or 2 sets they didn't match it became a mess I ended up just using the switches only, what a waste of time and money.

    • @jrgguitars3620
      @jrgguitars3620  2 роки тому

      Wow, that does sound like a waste. I have only purchased this kit from them. I did reach back out with a question about the treble loss when rolling the volume back. I was inquiring about their treble bleed circuit. They just sent it to me for free. I know its a small cost item, but it was a nice gesture. I did a follow up video about that here: ua-cam.com/video/h5eSN7q1IrE/v-deo.html
