I almost forgot about Boys of Summer. Man what a great song. Can't believe it Glenn Frey is gone. What an amazing band that was. Those guys are all looking pretty old. Don Henley's 5 years old with me. What a great time for music. Always listen to Steve Perry sing just last night I couldn't sleep haven't listened to journey in a while. What A Soulful and amazing voice he had. And Neil Sean and that Les Paul. All those people back here or just amazing
I always loved this tune. It’s got some tasty playing in it and really sets a cool mood/vibe. Oh, and yeh man! I got Steve Perry’s album a few years ago. He sounds great man. It’s a really well written and produced record and he’s still got it. Love the old journey. Man the live stuff from that era is tremendous. Neil and Steve were quite a duo. Great times and music. 😎🥂
Huge thanks Marty! I'm buying 2 of them for my fender mij's which I've had for almost 40 years. Love the 59 baseball bat bro!!! You have the nicest equipment. NOTE TO MANUFACTURE! You picked the right guy to demo your awesome product. I feel Marty is an up and coming channel to recognize so take care of this guy.💪🎸✌
Man Marty... When you dialed down the treble on the bridge and it had that sweet low tone and then punched through when you hit the high notes... Dude! SOLD! Imma' get a kit for my electric martin. I've had the same issues for a long time on that guitar... It's got great pickups but it cuts out mostly because it's old as hell but I love playing that thing. I also love that Les Paul by the way. I can see it has a good owner and good home :) ( Oh, before I forget .. I saw our queen of rock last night. Ran into her for a minute. Get ready for "Return of the Debi!" LOL! ) So nice to see her and hug her neck! Tangent Kings forever! Time to Come in from the rain, Pour me a round and give me 5 umbrellas!... To GO! 😂( if you know, you know... )
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker You know... Time heals all wounds is still one of my favorites, and it's just you two doing your thing. Sounds so good! Hits the soul right where it needs to.
Thanks for all the inspiration. Chillin with your channel after a funky day at work is awesome therapy. Have a beer (or coffee) on me if you're so inclined!
I put the 920d four way in my swamp ash Tele and I've got to say I'm impressed. It rocks & no hum no buzz. They may seem a little pricey but they are well worth it 👍
Very descriptive. I haven't talked myself into starting the same project with my 2012 Blue Les Paul. I want to dismantle as little as possible. Now the guitar has a custom wiring job which I'll save. Very good video...
Thank you. I totally get it man! This kit worked great and was easy. If you’re like me, I like to get back to playing as quickly as possible with the least amount of set back! 😎
Marty, as a tech/gear nerd, I really enjoyed watching you get that badd ass LP Classic back up and running. I really like hearing those Bryan Adams riffs coming from your hands. Yeah, that neck pickup sounds sooooo womanly, clucky, creamy, and velvety smooth. Another great one. 920D is a great company. I've bought a few parts from them. Top quality! Easy install. God bless you Marty. Skipper too. Happy 4th to you both.☺💜👍
Thanks so much man! I really enjoyed working on the LP and getting her back to normal. The 920D wiring kit really made it easy and stress free. I had never heard from them before but glad they reached out. Excellent stuff. Thanks for the nice comments on the guitar and tone. I love the way the 57’s sound in this Les Paul. It’s very inspiring. Have a great 4th man. I appreciate the support. 😎☮️
Love your channel Mary I usually watch on TV so I don't comment very often been watching you for months thanks for all your content just wanted to let you know
That sounds seriously amazing! You did an awesome job! I actually just picked up a pre-wired kit myself. I’m a bit nervous because my soldering skills aren’t great.
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker Yes,..I like the more natural looking finish of the body and neck too. If they used any stain on the mahogany, it was very light. Happy Independence day !!
Thanks Man - I just used this video as a reference to change the harness on my 2004 Les Paul STD using the 920D. The neck pick volume pot was cooked. Other than fixing the volume control cutting out i had no idea how much cleaner the guitar would be. I might have to adjust some of tones in my Line 6 Helix Rack to add back a little gain for my edge of breakup tones
4 builds! Phewww! Yeh that’d give me some anxiety hahaha. I’m sure you will get them ripping and roaring soon. I like paint too. I’m so impatient. It really is like therapy for me. Lol. 😂
Nice job Marty…920D is top shelf…btw…I stumbled on Faber USA…they make conversion kits to change a nashville bridge to an ABR1…with no mods to the guitar…I really feel the difference between a nashville bridge compared to an abr1…just a heads up…rock on bro!!!
What's the deal with those Les Paul Classics? I mean are they like the 50s, and 60s Les Pauls where they have the original wiring, and solid body, or are they like the modern ones with weight relieved body, and that push/pull circuit board thingy in the control cavity that everyone takes out and replaces?
Cool upgrade/install. So a "husk" is just the body and neck, with all the hardware removed? Wonder how/why Stratosphere gets these - were they unsold, seconds, or?
They sold all the parts and made the money on parts. Stripped them all down. You could get a husk for $1100 gloss finish classic. Then if you bought all the stuff separate it would be around 400-600 bucks. Plus there was no hard case. I had everything except the the tuners and bridge so I was pretty set since Gibson pickups and a wiring is pricey. Recently they had EVH Wolfgang’s.
I am just running a stereo delay in pro tools during final mix. I run about 385 ms left and 650 right. Give or take. Depending on my mood I may add 25-30 percent feedback. And mix 15-25 %. Thanks man! Live I use the delay in my fractal set the same way.

Very cool man! Thanks for the comment t. 🤟🏻
Very cool! I hadn't heard of 920D but I like it. Ordering an SG kit now. Thanks man!

Loved learning from you on this swap! Currently, building up my LP. Looks solid going to buy one!
Was the included switchcraft 3 way toggle a short toggle or a long toggle? Looks like a short but wanted to ask. Many thanks!
sounds epic man, they make excellent set ups for sure.

Thanks again Marty, I've never heard of 920 but love rewired several guitars. Both Seymour Duncan Stew Mac have
diagrams for wiring pretty much anything.
I never did either until they reached out to me. They have nice stuff and it's all top notch.
Perfect timing. I need a new harness for my standard 50s les Paul.

@@Ranch5150SkinWalker A good deal, if you have most of the parts lying around. Otherwise, you CAN get a used Classic for $1,600-$1,800 with a case.

Marty5150 That guitar sounds amazing.
Did you notice if these are a little bit bendable in case the guitar you I put them in is not a Gibson or epiphone?
Yes they had some flex to em!
Absolutely great job you do a fantastic job showing your rewiring job beautiful guitar thank you buddy fantastic job GOOD LUCK THANK YOU🎸🎸🎸
Check out the guitar player in "Dry Cleaning"
WTF. The Tim Henson of the underground London scene.
They (920D) do such a nice job and you dont look like you even tried. I don't get it. Wiring not your thing?
Nope. Playing is. Lol
Do Gibson LPs just not get any shielding? That might have been a source of the grounding issue
920 custom does have good prices on their wiring kits!
I think so too! 👍
No Faraday cage?
Just bought one for my Nashille Tele. A weak spot in most guitars. Yes even expensive ones. It's why all pros change pots. Ok. Most pros
It's an output jack....not an imput.

I purchased 2 kits and a toggle switch- wont be buying anything from them again.
