Between this, and the denim *secret pants*, Morgan is going to single handedly create a historical goth fashion subculture. And I'm here for it.
How about a Medieval latex nun outfit? Sexy latex nun costumes are pretty common, so it would be amusing to see a proper medieval nun's attire made in latex.
I think many of us would love to see Morgan make and demonstrate an 11th-century Holy Roman Emperor's costume crafted from plywood veneer, badger skulls, and AA batteries.
Yikes! I am wondering why you don't wear an apron???? And, as a retired chemistry teacher, I beg of you, wear eye protection. Regular glasses, if you must , but the geeky wrap-around goggles are recommended. Thanks for your ideas and your great diction and conversational tone.
I love all the sewing explorations as of late. Using new products or shapes or style. Always so fun and interesting. Leave it to Morgan to make historical latex clothes and make it approachable. Very cool!
How have you managed to make me want a latex dress? I don't want a latex dress. Except now I do apparently...
Wait... So latex clothing is
We need more “sewing for Science” please!!!!!!!!!! I learn so much about my sewing when you do these sewing for science. You show us why we make decisions in are normal sewing and why we might want to try this other thing. Please do more!
If you’re looking for latex inspiration, Jane Doe Latex has done some really cool designs for Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and several of the queens from Ru Paul’s Drag Race that use traditional dressmaking and couture techniques. Based on some of their designs, I think it would be fun to see a Rococo-style bodice or gown recreated in latex-very fitted but with lots of frills and bows.
This woman can make a dress out of everything. I respect that
I work at a shop that makes and sells latex, and I have to say, your construction techniques were very on point! I was impressed. I never expected to see a crossover from the historical costuming community and my work. Latex ruffles are my absolute favourite so I'd love to see you do something ruffly.
You took me right back to the late 80's when my boyfriend (at the time) ran a popular rubberwear shop and I'd spend time hanging around in the workshop keeping the designer company while he was creating garments.
This so is cool, well done! 🙃 It's nice to see someone approach latex as a fashion material without all the usual prejudices! 🖤
Oh man, that tracking shot as you were cutting out the latex was
Since you can leave the edges raw, you can do really intricate tagged or scalloped medieval hems, and it also makes doing windowpane cut-outs super easy.
Morgan's quickly becoming the master of historically inspired sewing shenanigans.
"Use your safe search" surprised a loud laugh out of me and scared my cat.
This dress gives me loads of low poly, early 2010’s slightly shiny game graphics. Like a full latex outfit would make you look like a video game character
Im currently in the process of planning a cosplay of "the Lady of the Green Kirtle" aka the Green Witch from the Silver Chair book in the Chronicles of Narnia; and it strikes me that latex mimics the shine of snake skin. I won't use latex for mine because I already have a fabric in mind, but I'd love to see your (or anyones!) take on the dress and the cosplay!
1, Registration marks are very important. You can use sharpie and then clean it off after the seams are glued(make sure to color test first)
