Sad that Michael Edwards is leaving, he’s been absolutely fantastic for us over the last decade at the club. Wish him all the best for the future and once a red, always a red. Brilliant that we’ve got someone who’s been at the club for a long time taking over the role. From what I’ve read about Julian Ward and Russ Fraser (newly appointed Women’s First Team Sporting Director), Liverpool Football Club are in good hands.
Best part is that the experience he has in this role, the kind of environments he has learnt in and the fact that he has earnt it through merit and not just because he was associated with the club !
Hopefully Julian Ward can pull off a Jude Bellingham signing or just some good midfield signings if FSG allows it. And sell some players. Honestly Michael Edwards deserves some kind of award for the signings he pulled off considering he hasn't had much to work with.
Bellingham is overrated.
@@dontaed.drummond3016 He is young and being hyped up but there is no denying that he is a great talent that could reach even higher with Klopp as a manager. Plus we need someone young that has talent and potential.
@@yoditan I agree. It's just that LFC already have Jones and Elliot. Morton coming through the ranks too. To add to that, there's a glut of English talent coming from midfield at the moment. So yeah quality player, but I'm hoping the club looks somewhere else. Bissouma makes the most sense, the team needs another midfield destroyer + prem proven

@@uthankpettukola7589 ok. Jude is 22 years old. Jones is 20 years. Jude will cost maybe 40-60 million. Jones is from the academy. As per Wikipedia, Jude has played 80 games and scored 7 goals. Jones has played 35 games and scored 3 goals. Senior appearances I am talking. Jude Bellingham is overrated. I'll work with Curtis Jones. Save myself 40 milli or invest in a proven premier league winner. We've seen the likes of Sancho and Werner come to prem and flop. Don't get me wrong, these are all good players and not everyone adapts at the same speed. Jones for me.

Listen, Man United might not thank me but get the contract out, put it on the table. Let him sign it, let him write whatever numbers he wants to put on there, given what he's done since he's come in. Ole's at the wheel, man. He's doing it. He's doing his thing. MAN UNITED ARE BACK!!

We can only wait and see whether Julian can do what Michael did. Director of Football is a job for people that knows how to cultivate global relationship with people from other clubs. When Michael leaves, he will bring with him the connections to people from other clubs. Money talks of course. But the bargaining power is no longer there. Clubs might be hesitant to do business with our clubs because they 'don't know' who this Julian is. Hopefully Michael will introduced him to some of his contacts to make his job easier.
He did play professionally for Morecambe so not too far-fetched that he got involved in training

Edwards is tired, than it's just normal to have someone hungry at the helm. he probably sees a new path in his career . Liverpool seemed to be happy with Julian ward that's why they letting Edwards leave without a whim anyway I wish him all the best, especially if he goes abroad, not so much in England

Not at all impressed with the transfers Neil mentioned that julian was involvement in. Bar Jota, (and that sounds like it was purely because of his Portugal connection) the others are the nearly but not quiet signings characteristic of Liverpool's period of mediocrity. Sounds like an in the (corporate) gang appointment. It'll can only really hurt us if and when Jurgen leaves though as far too much credit is given to the transfer committee anyway.
Firmino and Fabinho are characteristic of Liverpool's period of mediocrity?
@@theredmentv The names he specifically links him to were those in the loan departent and Jota. Bobby's name is just mentioned and he only 'had a role to play' with Fabinio, I have a role to play in the toilet brush industry when I take a shit.
