I was rlly hoping we could’ve gotten a scene of Ann in her home with the painting of the security guard somewhere hanging in her house. I feel like that would’ve been a nice thing to end on. He’s not exactly alive but he is always watching over her and keeping her safe, so to speak
It's nice to see a horror game where you actually get a happy ending for the other people affected by the spooky shit. Myra and Charles didn't Do anything to deserve eternal damnation or whatever, it's just a bummer when characters like that just stay either cursed or dead at the end.
I just realized- Charles, Myra, and Ann were wearing a scarf, dress, and coat respectively- The fashion department game where you had to find those three items could've been a little foreshadowing about the 'true' ending where they all escaped :0
@@akirasakura7449 that's true! I was also thinking maybe their parents as well, wanting to find their kids. Maybe it can be taken either way :D Man, I love tiny details like these; they make games so much more fun :D
I know Ann is the main character and she is interesting but im really more into the security guard. Dude went through all of the shit including charles little bullshiting games and he hasn't went crazy yet
The final ending, the one where Ann was able to appease Hana, reminds me of the ending of a Korean movie, Scarlet Heart. The female heroine cannot remember her time during the entire period she was in the past, then she ended up looking at a painting at the exhibition and remembered everything. Tbh like I cried when I watched the ending of Scarlet Heart, I cried the most watching that ending too where Ann saw the Security painting and it's sweet that her selfie got through
I notice a lot of "MC became an amnesiac" always remember everything through an item they have. It happened in Ib with the handkerchief, Stygian with the lighter, and now Ann with the selfie.
As an art student, this game really made me consider buying or recreating a painting of Security and other artworks. Idk it really touched my heart in the end :)
This genuinely felt like a blast from the past. A true RPG Maker-style horror game that has the same feel as the old Witch's House, Misao, Corpse Party and the like. Really happy to see something like this again :>
Lost student: [exists] Security: not to be dramatic or anything but I want nothing but safety to them. Spooky art objects: [exist] Security: so you have chosen death
wasn’t security inspired by a real life person that was important to the creator? imagine if the inspired person who looks identical to security showed up at the exhibition 😭 and they both get a weird sense of deja vu
Just some stuff i noticed that i loved and thoughts: - Security was made by Clara, Hana friend that slept with the principal in the car, makes sense it would be on the exibition, as she "did the deal". That can also explain why he wasnt influenced by Hana: she didnt want to change her friend art. - the game is heavility inspired by rpg horror makers: Hana looks like Misao, the Hana crawler chase is basically the witch house ginal bit, the theme (especially on the sculptures department) and monsters look straight out of IB (headless mannequins and handy artworks). I wonder if that last "secret" ending could be a more happy ending: the principal couldnt hide anymore and all of his victims would SEE him get fricked over... i mean Hana got the worst but there are tons of students that where used by him that only know he disappeared...
Also seems heavily inspired by Corpse Party, especially the first horror scene of the game in the school. The plot is also very similar to the original Corpse Party.
The monster in the game looks slightly similar to saya from saya no uta just something i noticed this game is a tribute to rpg maker horrors yes... she looks similar to visi from fleshchild who's design is inspired from saya in saya no uta(fleshchild is an rpg maker horror saya is.... 18+ and not one) also the protag looks slightly like madotsuki from yume nikki
even though mr.security was so sketchy at first, I fell in love with him and how his character is and the way he openly denied hana because he knows what his name means, it hurt me when hana burned him down that one ending
Fun Fact: Myra and Charles may or may not be based off of Myra Hess, a Pianist, and Charles Worth, an English Fashion Designer. Both are historically accurate. Myra loves piano, and Charles loves fashion design. Also, I noticed the street sign says “RONG ST”. Nice touch.
Ahh, I just wanna hug security guy. He's do nice. The fact that he does all this despite he is one of them. I honestly got attached to him in like 20 mins. I was really hoping he would go with Ann but he's got to stay just incase someone else broke the rule :(. I seriously cried in the ending- a painting's sacrifice but the last one was my favourite... The bad ending made myself feel better
This game feels like it belongs to decade of the early RPG Maker games. edit: that charles part with the music and clapping reminds me of some Re:Kinder.
I like those moments when Manly manages to block all the chasers like a boss- (entire game!) I love this playthrough! Thanks Manly and Rong Rong for providing such a great tribute of infamous RPG Maker horror games ^^
I can see this as a tribute to The Witch’s House, Misao, AND Ib. Ib is a game where a girl lets lost in the alternate dimension of an art museum. I feel like Security is a tribute to Gary- considering that he’s a painting and in a majority of the endings, he can’t leave the alternate world.
Honestly I feel like this was the best homage to Ib, Witch's House, Mad Father, Misao, and the rest that I've seen. Like this and Turtle Head, but that was more a recreation whereas this is a true HOMAGE -- it truly honors a ton of wonderful games that came before it with a bunch of themes and references. It's sooooo well done. But Gods Dammit I wanted to see her buy the painting from whoever painted it at the end and wind up protecting him, now.
The good ending felt more bittersweet. And the scrapped one felt like the true good ending. I got attached to Security midway. And the cutscenes were pretty nice.
3:33 "A trash can... it's empty like my soul" at the start of the game and i really didn't expect that line coming from the game and not from manly usual comeback 😂 it's gonna be a great game i know lol
"evil" Myra's O _ O face was so good lol, I laughed every time that particular sprite showed up I have a sneaking suspicion that Hana was the painter of the Security painting, honestly! It makes the sacrifice ending much more bittersweet, too...
I love how Myra barely looks any different compared to when she was alive, (edited) Jame's project, and then we have Charles XD They should've given him a scarf pfft
Wait, because Clara is from traditional painting departement and she sleep with the principal, then her painting was the one get to the exhibition. That mean the "Security" painting was her. Wow.
According to the Digital Artbook, that's not the case. Rather, Clara made the statue that took the place of Success. He would have gotten his work into the exhibition had Clara not made that deal. Security is not Clara's painting.
@@digitalnative5678 I thought Clara made that tension cable landscape drawing while other person bought their success for that statue. I know understand why students thought the statue was so ugly, the person who did it wasn't even from the sculpture department but the painting one, but bought their way in.
Hmm i feel like this game was HEAVILY inspired by IB. The security gaurd is like a fusion of Gary and Mary, as for Ann she can’t remember what happened to her when escaping just like IB
1:21:53 honestly, my favorite ending/creepiest, i like this one because how scary experencing that would be, your in an endless room that just has tables... and computers. the art represents it really well which i really love.
Right? I only knew them back in like 2014 back when I was in high school when they did that comment section in a nutshell only to come back and see crap loads of content.
I personally like to view the scrapped end as an epilogue to the best end. Yeah, we can say that Ann and Security had a spark but I see it as a parental relationship as Ann was deprived of it growing up. He’s more of a father figure and oh boy i cried seeing his painting
Gosh, I can't believe I actually cried because of Security man ;-; The final ending was the best, Ann seeing him again and the hug (my heart ;-;) Security - Best character award :')
Man, what's with vengeful ghosts going after innocent people. This was a pretty good game. Not sure about the 'forgetting everything' part of the ending, it didn't really make sense to me personally, but other than that it was rather well done all around. I liked it.
and you can also try and make up some scientific theories to make sense of it Like the way memories and time work in one universe doesn't translate to the other universe or some other nonsense
@@simonghoul3602 yes because the time in the cursed school works differently than normal school so the memories would be messed up or it would be similar to having a very very bad trip with no recollection of it whatsoever
Besides this game give homage to a lot of classical RPG Horror games, like Misao and The Witch's House. The "forgetting everything" part might also be an homage to Ib, were once Ib gets out she don't remember a thing except for one ending, so there's that also
"Not all of us have a sewing machine at home!" There's a fashion police DOOM mod where one of the weapons is one of those old Singer sewing machine that's built like a tank, that student needs that. Edit: oof, all those baby grands, I wonder how often they hire a piano tuner.
I know the secret ending is a bit bitter to see Ann failed to escaped, but oh maaan I loved how Security just called her and she ran over him, loved it, trapped in Hana's world but together
LMAO, of all people, I did not expect RongRong to be involved. I thought he would be too busy animating parody videos. Good to see he's still doing stuff aside from that.
@@utatanepiko7087 Look at the comments on this video on Rong Rongs' channel: ua-cam.com/video/U52Xppuydes/v-deo.html The video itself talks about how RRs' going to be busy with the development of Ann, and one of the reasons for the game being made is that so few people talk about or play RPG Maker games anymore. In the comments, someone brings up Manly as someone still interested in RPG Maker titles, and RR replies with "Yeah, I watch him religiously". So, yeah. Definitely an intentional reference to MBH there.

Security: what's gonna happen to me? Manly: you're gonna die. Not even gonna sugar coat it. Just straight forward and to the point. Also..would it kill Ann to at least give her hero a kiss on the cheek or something?
I was going to riot when it ended with them forgetting everything that happened, oh my god. I don't understand that decision, it was already a good conclusion. Why erase their memories? They could have been ghost buster pals but no. Push the reset button. At least one of them got their memories back... Story was otherwise great, the art was phenomenal!
@@vloggerbonakid6178 They did watch it. That's what the "At least one of them got their memories back..." sentence at the end of the first paragraph was for.
not shown, but given what happened, it would be very natural to assume that after crying, she pulled the 3 others aside at some point to tell them what happened. whether they believe it or not, or even remember themselves, would of course be an entirely different story, but I'm sure Ann would have at least told them. especially in Myra's case, seeing as Ivy drugged her.
How much this charming security guard is paid? Patrolling death trap everyday for a tiny chance that someone's around needing help (Nvm i hadn't got to the twist when i typed this)
Not gonna lie, the Principal is a really weird villain. In the first place, him coming to the school to get “punished,” by Hana kinda banks on whatever remaining shred of humanity he has left to actually go risk his life to rescue some random student who he could easily just leave there for dead.
Possibly. On the other hand, it could also be considered a somewhat selfish move, as he's just there to make sure he never gets found out. Since Ann called him from the principal office, there's a chance that she might have taken evidence of the principal's deeds and since it's established that there still is a connection to the real world, there is the possibility that Ann might survive and escape with the evidence. On the other hand, it could also be him trying to prevent another missing person case which could negatively affect his reputation and that of the school, causing his ruin also. Principal knew that Hana was too obsessed with her anger and vengeance to see clearly, so it's not like she would be expecting the Principal to come, unless she was tipped off of course. Principal knows this and as long as he doesn't stay too long there is a chance that Hana might be too busy rampaging elsewhere to detect his presence. He weighs this risk against the also real consequences of just leaving Ann alone. But hey, it's just a theory...
I dont know why, but when I see the scene where Ann looks at the painting of the security, it makes my heart really heavy. I get this feeling that now we can't see him forever, like I am Ann herself. Damn this game is good
The last one literally make me sad. I almost cry. So sad. Happy that they are all safe but sad that they forget all of it and security back to a painting. But more happy that ann remember it now, all those memories. The secret ending also cute. I like it cause ann get to see security again 😭. I want it to be like the night at museum where the arts alive but harmless at night so ann can visit security again and they will be normal arts in the day.
To be fair, the Principal deserved it. Not only was he sleeping with possibly underaged, or at the very least very young girls, but he also murdered a girl and hid the fact that the school became a death trap at night. And it's not like he stopped the sleeping after murdering Hana.
Well I mean the principle is literally taking advantage of young girl's life situations and banging them ofc that's the best plan, if the only one whose entirely evil in this whole story, its the principle.
Such an oddly cute game, like a wholesome horror game lol. Loved the amazing cutscenes, though I think the music in certain parts made the game more comedic than horrific.
Dunno why, but the Security Guard going back into a painting made me sad. Like, really, really sad :[. Edit: The secret ending made me happy. Security Guard is back! :]

Or being painted as the scary evil ones
I'm actually more glad that Myra and Charles aren't dead, they just became more corrupted by the cursed
i like the music whenever charles (cursed) arrives
Yeah like fnaf 6
I just realized-
Charles, Myra, and Ann were wearing a scarf, dress, and coat respectively-
The fashion department game where you had to find those three items could've been a little foreshadowing about the 'true' ending where they all escaped :0
And the one looking for them probably the security. As he help them. It have the same colour with the security shirt.
@@akirasakura7449 that's true! I was also thinking maybe their parents as well, wanting to find their kids. Maybe it can be taken either way :D

He kinda did when he started destroying the sculptures lol, it's pretty understandable at that point though, they're all for Hana and not for justice
The final ending, the one where Ann was able to appease Hana, reminds me of the ending of a Korean movie, Scarlet Heart. The female heroine cannot remember her time during the entire period she was in the past, then she ended up looking at a painting at the exhibition and remembered everything. Tbh like I cried when I watched the ending of Scarlet Heart, I cried the most watching that ending too where Ann saw the Security painting and it's sweet that her selfie got through
I need to watch that movie!
Same, when i become more confident in drawing humans, i'll wanna recreate that painting as a fanart for this lovely game!

This genuinely felt like a blast from the past. A true RPG Maker-style horror game that has the same feel as the old Witch's House, Misao, Corpse Party and the like. Really happy to see something like this again :>

And that dab on the enemy was just priceless lmao
Just some stuff i noticed that i loved and thoughts:
- Security was made by Clara, Hana friend that slept with the principal in the car, makes sense it would be on the exibition, as she "did the deal".
The monster in the game looks slightly similar to saya from saya no uta just something i noticed
this game is a tribute to rpg maker horrors yes... she looks similar to visi from fleshchild who's design is inspired from saya in saya no uta(fleshchild is an rpg maker horror saya is.... 18+ and not one)
also the protag looks slightly like madotsuki from yume nikki
Hana looks like Hana. There is such a school legend in Japan. Most likely Misao was designed after Hana.
even though mr.security was so sketchy at first, I fell in love with him and how his character is and the way he openly denied hana because he knows what his name means, it hurt me when hana burned him down that one ending

I love this playthrough!
An alternate IB timeline. Where the art Musume became an art school, IB is all grown up, and Garry became a security guard.
Lmao the moment i saw the art school, it triggered memories of ib. I love that game
I'm so glad I wasn't the only one who thought of Ib when watching this game.
@@primordialpink i guess u can, heck i'm shipping then 😅🤣
According to the Digital Artbook, that's not the case. Rather, Clara made the statue that took the place of Success. He would have gotten his work into the exhibition had Clara not made that deal. Security is not Clara's painting.
@@digitalnative5678 I thought Clara made that tension cable landscape drawing while other person bought their success for that statue.

I personally like to view the scrapped end as an epilogue to the best end. Yeah, we can say that Ann and Security had a spark but I see it as a parental relationship as Ann was deprived of it growing up. He’s more of a father figure and oh boy i cried seeing his painting

Not sure about the 'forgetting everything' part of the ending, it didn't really make sense to me personally, but other than that it was rather well done all around. I liked it.
I feel like it would be part of the curse. Because your memories disappear as the cursed school
and you can also try and make up some scientific theories to make sense of it
Like the way memories and time work in one universe doesn't translate to the other universe or some other nonsense

Ann: I know how we can escape!

To be fair, the Principal deserved it. Not only was he sleeping with possibly underaged, or at the very least very young girls, but he also murdered a girl and hid the fact that the school became a death trap at night. And it's not like he stopped the sleeping after murdering Hana.
