Just found your channel today & subscribed! I’ve been on a kick of watching personal finance youtubers lately. I’ll be 30 on August 1, and my last debt is my car- about $6k. I’m so excited to knock this one out and live a debt free life! Thanks for the motivation!
Your so right with the hi's and lows. It can stress you out. Some days I feel good, some days I stress. Holidays just ahead... I'm hoping to stay focused.
My wife and I have been on our debt free journey since March of 2020 starting with about $123,000 in debt. Today we are down to $103,650. We are projected to get down to $75,000 by the end of the year if we are diligent and have no major emergancy. Our projection for being debt free is about the 1st quarter of 2024 if not sooner. Keep it up! You can do it!
I just posted a vid with an intro to my debt free journey, I started at $82,145. So I feel your pain!! I just started on June 3,2020. Can't wait for a couple of months to pass and see it get lower while increasing my Investments.
@@irishcladdagh3 Yes! lets get rid of this debt! i just computed my total consumer debt for tomorrow's video and Im at $72,915! Under $73k milestone! and we have had a bunch of emergencies and two hurricanes in our home. But at least we are making progress! Best wishes to you in your journey!!
The extractions are cheap, the root canals and crowns are the worst 😭 I had my upper back molar extracted in March and I just left it empty lol. The implant would have been over $7K I'm sorry you're having to deal with that, I know your pain
I LOVE how you found the positives of having gone through this. You’re so right. I don’t think I would have heard about FIRE or be so gung ho about my career without it 👍🏽
It's strange to think about honestly! Who knows how I would have been financially without my debt, but at this point it has created way more opportunity for me.
I don't track my spending closely but you have me curious to see what exactly I'm spending my personal funds on. I also have a history of tooth problems, it's like I live at the dentist's office. You've made great progress.
Definitely track your spending for a bit!! It helps a lot. And yes 😂 it was like I lived there. I've become an expert on teeth too lol Fingers crossed we both can avoid problems for awhile.
Awesome job. Keep up the great work. One thing to consider is open an FSA account with your work benefits. Its like a sinking fund where you can pay copay, prescriptions, so less out of pocket expenses
1) cut up all the credit cards. 2) beans and rice. 3) no purchases, no eat out, no going out. 4) work extra hours and job. 5) pay for lights, food, and bills. 6) take all your money out of Roth IRA and throw it on the smallest debt. 7) have your $1,000 emergency fund. 8) throw the rest of your paycheck on the smallest debt. 9) sell your car and get a $3-5k beater and cash it out. You'll be debt free in less than two years.
While you provide some great tips, I would advise you to not take your money out of your IRA to pay off debt. The time value of the money in the IRA is worth more than the two months earlier you'll probably pay off your debt.
Yay!!! Congrats!!🎉 I also think that our debt made us become more educated on personal finance than we might have been at this point in our lives.
Thank you Monica!! 😊
Proud of you! I have 4,037 left to go
Goallssssss!! I can't even imagine what it will feel like to be under $10K in debt.
Congrats to you! The final stretch

I'm hoping to skip Christmas gifts this year lol, or just do small gifts 🤦♀️

You’ve done well Leila. Congrats paying all of this down. Good job. 👍
Thanks so much Wyatt! 😊
You explaining your dental expenses in 2020 - is 100% me right now. I wouldn’t wish a dental extraction on anyone. Yikes!!

Thank you!
My employer doesn't offer FSA unfortunately, or any other retirement/tax benefits.
Ah ok maybe the dental work can be a sinking fund you save for on your own.
@@larrytuch949 yeah I have a medical/dental sinking fund! Plus I now have good dental insurance and my teeth have been good lately 😂🤞🏻
Congrats! That's so awesome 👏🥰
Thanks Sabrina!

It's not! Just unexpected expenses!
682 isn't low
