You can get a diffuser that helps with the flash. Because the flash often gets blocked downwards by the lens. It's an oval piece of cloth with a wire around it and it has a round hole to put the lens through. This will diffuse the light and also allow it to go downwards towards your subject. If you're shooting with flash you have a lot of light anyway, so you can stop down your aperture to get a larger focus area. The sweet spot for most lenses towards sharpness tends to be in the f5.6-f8 area, so I'd stop it down to f8 if shooting with flash. If you're shooting with flash it also helps if you can turn ttl off. Ttl will do a preflash to meter before the proper flash when it takes the exposure. This will scare off some insects, especially flies. The flip out screen really helps with macro shooting as you often want to get the length or width of the insect parallel to your camera, also this allows you to rest your camera on eg a tree trunk to steady your shooting.
Brother Really like and appreciate your videos showing how to use the Nikon p900, Would Be good to see more Videos, I learned a few things today watching and would be nice to see more
Hello Mordhau Moments, Im pretty sure you can use the camera for 2 or 3 hours before the battery will be flat, depend if you using the zoom during the recording it will use more power. I always suggest to get a second battery to avoid and accident. 2 batteries are enough and perfect to use your camera without risk to miss something.
I found an adapter on eBay that lets you replace the battery with an external power source. It plugs into the battery slot and has wires that feed out to the rest of the adapter. However, it's all moot as Nikon, in their infinite wisdom, decided to limit the video recording times. The higher the resolution, the shorter the video they allow.
