    Worked well for me, ty. I bought an ex mining card and when I finally opened it up to change the paste, it was no wonder it was hitting 80+ temps, there was basically no thermal paste. Before under load i would hit 80+ and my game and system would crash. Now under full gaming load with max settings and dlss, doesnt ever cross 70 and my system runs waaaay quieter now.

    Thank you for this guide! The factory thermal paste was *completely* dry (the thermal pads are still fine). My card was reaching 89 degrees and the hot spot would go to over 115 degrees before crashing. After replacing the old thermal paste with some new GD900 the GPU won't go over 70 degrees and the max hot spot temp was 81 while running Time Spy.

    Hey! So glad you're consistently responding to comments. Two things
    1. Is 70% isopropyl alcohol just fine or do you have to use explicitly 99% isopropyl?
    2. Can you use cotton swabs to clean the GPU die instead of a workshop towel?

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  Місяць тому +2

      It's my pleasure my friend.
      🫠Regarding your question, I highly recommend using 90%+ isopropyl alcohol. Never use 70% or even 80%. Use cotton to clean the GPU, but the best option is a workshop towel. The workshop towel will not get tangled on the small capacitors and will not damage anything on the board. It will tear apart before causing any damage, whereas cotton can get tangled in the capacitors and damage them.
      Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
      cheers🍻

    Thanks for the tutorial, amazing work here. Just two questions here: 1. since there are 2 x fan connector, is there a problem if I connect them back in reverse order? 2. What's the max temperature after replacing the thermal paste? Thanks a lot.

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  9 місяців тому +2

      Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both!
      Regarding your question, you can switch the fan connector order, but DON"T connect them reverse.
      with the best thermal paste you will get a steady drop of temp about around 10C o more.
      again keep in mind that the fan curve has a big roll in the temps.
      the best paste i recommend: amzn.to/40v1gPp
      now if you want a best of best and don't want to deal with liquid metal, you can place this: amzn.to/3FQNptw
      this is a permanent sheet without damaging the copper and never expires and gives you a superior thermal conductive, all you need to do is to tape around the GPU crystal dye with kapton tape: amzn.to/3ssbALB
      as the kryosheetis very conductive so one sheet of this tape on the GPU components is more than enough to protect them, and place the sheet in the middle and enjoy the BEST of the best👍
      with this kryosheet you will get the temps to the lowest possible.
      Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
      cheers🍻
