I like the honestly made review. People hating these cars are ignorant poor drivers. I will not say is better than this or that but for cornering is a blast. And in places like Europe with different kind of roads is enough to make you happy
That is exactly right.. I tell people so many times not to compare cars to other cars if u can help it. S2k is it's own breed and you need to drive one before you make a decision on paper
Nice review!! Always liked the S2000 platform. Keep up the good work! I have a C6Z and came across your videos. I enjoy making videos of my build as well. I subscribed 👍🏻👍🏻
You don't need an intake to hear the VTEC cross-over, comes through loud and clear stock. Agree with your conclusions and it's always good to see the reaction of someone experiencing an S2000 for the first time. Where I disagree is what you will pay for a good one. Prices have been creaping up. A nice one will be more in the $20k range. Stay away from ones that have been abused or forced induction added.
I love my car cause you don’t have to drive the piss out of it to have a blast driving it. The hi rev limit and the vtec make you work for it but once you figure it out it is very rewarding. I disagree about the over-steer. It absolutely will kick out if you’re not careful. I make about 19 mpg. I’m 6’2 1/2”, 205 and I fit just fine.
They are for sure amazing cars! I wish I had some more time to drive it.. but dang haha I guess I am bigger around that’s why it was tight in there for me haha😂
I own a 2006 Ap2 and to answer your question for a toy I prefer the AP1 because of the quicker steering and higher redline. If you are going to turbo or supercharge the AP2 has beefed up drivetrain components. You can add a flashpro tune to the 2006 for more midrange power and a slightly higher redline/fuel cutoff, like maybe 8500 rpm but I still like the AP1 9000 the best.
No need for the 9k rpm if they stop making power at 8200.. the extra revs are just for fun i guess.. so AP2 for me for the stronger motor and better suspension.
I have driven an Elise and for a pure toy I'd go with the Elise. Amazing steering feel and a street legal go kart. Plus its a bit quicker in a straight line too. If you are going to travel at all then the S2000.
The AP2 with the 2.2L engine is NOT an "s2000". It should be called the "s2200" because the "2000" stands for 2.0 Liters and not the year the car was introduced contrary to what people think. Most of the world retained the 2.0 liter engine because only the Americans didn't understand what Honda wanted to build.
@@Thatsnapchatyellowc6 And to preemptively calm all the AP2 whiners, the AP2 is a great car because it has 99.9 % of the original DNA of the Ap1. They love to act like Honda totally reinvented the car when all of the 10 years engineering the AP1 before release wasn't part of the minimal modifications they made to the AP2. What made the s2000 special was the 2.0L engine and the HP to Liter ratio. That is why Car and Driver named the 2.0L engine the Best Naturally Aspirated Engine OF ALL TIME. Over a million dollar McLaren. The 2.0l was and still is an engineering marvel. The 2.2L is a modification. Fait Accompli www.caranddriver.com/features/g15380833/best-most-reliable-engines/
Do you prefer the Ap1 or Ap2? let me know

I love the AP1 original front bumper design! The Honda S2000 ROCK'S
Yeah I think it looked good too! Amd yep.. a lot of people think it is just some overrated honda
Pretty cool, I have a s2000 and have been really been looking for a vette 😂 great video!
Thank you haha! And get one🤟🤟
Same here 😂😂

The crossover is addictive haha, and yeah super clean one's are going for over 20k it's crazy
@@Thatsnapchatyellowc6 More like almost 30k now! lol
True🙄, used car prices are through the rough across the board haha 😭

Yeah overall I think I prefer the 9k rpm redline to the tq bump.. but both are a lot of fun for sure

Good video, torn between this and an elise :/
I have never driven a lotus.. but I know the s2k is a great car and very reliable. In my opinion has a bigger following too
@@Thatsnapchatyellowc6 thanks mate, prices are wild atm
Yeah they are, and if I'm guessing correctly I'd bet they only continue to go up from here

Need to drive the car with the top down
Yeah I wish I would have

Absolutely it was, I prefer the ap1 over the ap2... that 9k rpm redline is the truth haha
You know how Americans are!
Japan did get the F22C in 2006.
@@dustin710 yes, but the far majority of s2000s sold around the world had f20c engines in them. It is what made the car "special".
Way off on values
Thanks for the input, what are the values you typically see?
In SoCal, prices have been around $13k+ for salvage title/high mileage examples, and $20-30k for
Dang that is honestly crazyyyyy
@@Thatsnapchatyellowc6 I just picked one up in AZ …. O4’ 111k miles. 10/10 vins. Clean title for $24,000
Heck yeah🤟🏻🤟🏻Congrats, you’re gonna enjoy it.. very fun cars to drive!
The AP1 came with 240hp & the AP2 had 237hp. Get it right buddy..
Saying "Honda's Corvette" is a real insult to Corvette!
Hahaha, I don't think so🤣🤣 they aren't super fast but they are a ton of fun
@@Thatsnapchatyellowc6 add boost and really enjoy the car.
Lol corvette’s are trash. Look at their used car market. Corvette’s value drops like a rock. Look at the S2000 they go up in value.
rolls like a pig in the twisty;s
Have you looked at used corvettes lately?
