I applaud you for the unique Push-Pull tutorial that is very different from most, or from the intuitive usage. This is a great way for people to understand the power and flexibility. That it's more than a simple Sketchup-like feature. No one has done a full *building plans to 3D Model in Rhino v8*; if you did this I think it would be one of the most popular Rhino videos on UA-cam!
Not a correct use of push-pull, wirecut or simple boolean difference is a great choice. Pushpull is great to work in SketchUp manner to quickly push or pull surface from existing curves.
