As an ork player, it's always funny when people seem to miss how very horrifying orks are from the perspective of people in universe. From our perspective they are silly and goofy, but that's because we get the ork perspective. In universe Orks are a terrifying menace that can become a system ending threat if not kept an eye on.
This was a great video! While I do prefer the AoS Orruks for being more serious and fitting better into the setting tonaly, as you mentioned at the end of the video. I do have a soft spot for 40K Orks. I've even considered starting a small side army myself. So I wouldn't mind seeing you do some other videos like this for Orks. Specifically for a shootey, vehicle heavy list, Bad Moonz type build, or a Speeed Freeekz list that goes hard on the Speeed Freeeks. Because those models are what interest me the most in Orks personally.
Although a little goofy in 40k I still think they have their place. When grimdarked up a bit it makes them alot more menacing. It's amazing what the difference a paint job makes.
Decided to casualy start an Ork army recently, it probably won't see the table for months, but I honestly think every 40k hobbyist should have one at some point in there lives, even if it's just to paint
I always enjoy these "here's an army you could build and how much it'll cost" but I really like when folk do them over time; like we recommend these for your first 500ish points, your next 500, etc. Sometimes having a 1k army would look a lot different than if you could do all 2k in one go, but since most people build an army over time, it's a more realistic look. Especially since my local stores don't do 2k games, 1k is common and 1.5k sometimes 😅
Yeah, that also really work well with starting with the combat patrols. We try and do these from a fun and fluff side, so if someone did want to follow this, they can logically break it into chunks to start playing different points values and separate the cost.
Hello Kieran's, thank you for pulling out the big WAAAAGH but the video chapters is for the Dark angels episode, unless the new DA refresh shoved two Kill Rig's into the Knights box when I wasn't looking🍄
I would like to see someone build a legal White Scar list. Also orks don't have a lotof stuff? I advice reading the 2ed codex. There are in depth articles about hair squigs . What other faction has that . Not being an ork player , l still think that a race of omnivorse who gut people nail their intestines to truks and then make the vicgims run around the vehicles , are not "fun". No race where the idea of pain in anything (including other orks) opposing you is fun. Orks are cruel on a chimp level, and better yet they find the cruelty fun.
I had a huge 1200$ MSRP haul of 2400 points of beast snaggas that only cost me 450$. Including 3 full size units of squighog boys 24 squigs coming at yuh! All new in box Had to immediately sell them because the day they came in i found out about a financial concern Moved them 3 days later for 700$

Who cares orks smash aha Edit, also potentially take out the flamers from the stompa box and get 2 boxes of gretchin for around £24 as they looked fun as extra numbers
Can’t always guarantee those big boxes will stay in stock (especially the chaos ones…) same as the Christmas ones. But they are a great way to get started and really help with the cost
@the_kieran_show yeah it's a shame the way it's run, soon as I seen the announcement for the stompa box I sold off my impulsive old world army purchase and got all that pre ordered ready, plus GW prices going up again next month which sucks

It’s in more recent times that orks have been turned into a “fun” faction. Would like to see GW bring some of their in world scariness back

I kind how orcs don’t takes itself too seriously in 40k. Most of the game feels overly ‘serious’ luckily orcs give a little bit of relief
