- Soprano dramática: Maria Guleghina, como Abigaille.
MET, 2001.
Orquesta del Metropolitan de Nueva York.
Director: James Levine.
Thanks for posting this and for the effort/work to add the score!
With a mic…
Awesome vid with the music score below a life performance. Brilliant! Brilliant! Brilliant!! Thanks so much. Please do more.
BRAVA MARIA GULEGHINA!!!!
GREAT SINGER, GREAT ACTRESS AND GREAT WOMAN!!!!
Io ascolto solo Ghena Dimitrova . Insuperabile
Bravissima, ti dò ragione

I came the score; great job
Grande Maria, grande voce, grande interpretazione! Le critiche? Parafrasando:"Parlino di me, bene o male, purché ne parlino!".
Great performance -- but, how do you make that "scrolling" music?! It's a wonderful addition.
That intonation henny... hard to stay on the note than under it with that big of a sound. She could never control that for me. Always under pitch. But a dramatic singer none the less. I wonder what she thinks of this performance... I cant sing like that so I digress.
Both her low register and high register are not strong enough to sing this role.

Luigi XIV bestemmia!
Kein Piano Schrecklich
*Not low voiceeee and she is ingolata*
Orribile!
Horrible. Listen to Callas, THAT is Abigaille. Guleghina is too throaty.
She's awful hijo 🙌
Awful? Callas? Are you deaf?
And you like this woofy sound? Geesh
@@ms.chaewon9231 Guleghina is awful but Callas is great, the greatest soprano ever.
Why always be so dramatic in the comments?! One is « horrible » whereas the other is the « greatest ». There’s room for many favorite singers without the need to trash others. Callas was fantastic but she died more than 50 years ago. One can not always live in the past and luckily opera is not dead, and nothing can replace a live performance.

1. Guleghina's vocal technique is very poor and her diction is extremely unclear.
2. Guleghina's musicality is horrible, her phrasing is very different from the score.
3. Guleghina often sang out of the pitch.
4. Guleghina's vibrato is way too wide.
5. One MUST live in the past because opera singers in the past were much better than the modern ones.
6. Callas was the ONLY dramatic soprano who recorded the role of Abigaille, and Verdi wrote this role for Giuseppina Strepponi who was a dramatic soprano.
Uh-uh. Woffy and constricted. So pass.
LISTEN TO ANITA CERQUETTI. THIS IS NOT SINGING. IT IS BELLOWING, AND COVERED.
If you truly think Cerquetti could sing this music, you're delusional!
@@elizabethgarcia8758 No, the best is Callas.
@@BaroneVitellioScarpia1 callas of course. Bumbry was excellent in this role as well

Bumbrys top Soprano voice was pushed & hard to listen to . Arnold Bourbon Amaral
@@arnoldamaral3814 I agree completely. But there was something very exciting about her voice and she had great use of chest voice
