Holy shit. These 2 playing some crazy high level clay court tennis. No other player would stand a slight chance. So competitive.
One of the most frustrating matches I’ve ever watched as a Nadal fan especially during this time in his career. He was up 4-2 in the first set and nearly took a double break lead and blew 5 set points in the second set. After he withdrew early from the French Open I was about ready to call it a career for him.
He got wrist injury in 2016 FO
2015-16 were simply not his years. The worst thing is that he played so many times in QF and SF vs Djokovic being soo out of form and Novak at his absolute peak. That destroyed the h2h. They didn't play as much next year in 17 when Nadal was better and Novak out of form.
We're hours away from their 60th H2H encounter.. as a Djokovic fan I hope this is ends as another thriller !! Good luck to both

For me the main difference between Federer and Djokovic is that Novak was able to compete and beat Nadal on Clay at multiple big occasions where Federer has been demolished his entire carreer.

its stressful cos rafa was determined to beat novak after losing 6 in a row to him before this match and novak was determined to build momentum in the clay season to finally catch that elusive first roland garros title of his.

El vencer tantas veces en su territorio, quizás al tipo más dopado y apañado del mundo, agiganta la leyenda de Novak en el deporte en general. Porque qu respuesta pueden dar los fanáticos de Nadal, nadie es capaz de correr la cancha de punta a punta por horas y horas, y más en tierra batida como Nadal, sin un atisbo de cansancio en su cara, y con una supuesta lesión de por vida y con el pie partido, que alguien me explique como hace??.. y después critican a Novak por una lesión. Por Dios, Novak infinidades de veces que jugo con Nadal, así ganase, al siguiente partido lo perdía, porque es humano, por desgaste. Nadal jamás pierde así se desgaste en tierra batida y siendo lesionado de por vida supuestamente.. solo se me ocurren dos cosas que pueden dar la respuesta hacia el rendimiento de Nadal., y hay millones que tienen el mismo presentimiento.. o fingió casi toda su carrera aduciendo que estaba lesionado para agrandar su heroicismo. O definitivamente se ha dopado y ha sido muy bien protegido ( y hay pruebas de ello, para los necios). Esto concluye en la creencia aún más firme de que Novak es el tenista más grande de la historia, y uno de los deportistas más grandes que hayan existido.
Totalmente de acuerdo. Las lesiones de "rodilla" que decía que tenia, eran mentira, una lesión de rodilla es mortal, termina la carrera de un tenista, míralo a Kent Carlsson la bestia del polvo de ladrillo de los ochentas y quien ya estaba #6 del mundo, pero desafortunadamente se lesiono las rodillas y tuvo que retirarse a los 22 años. Mirálo a Federer, tuvo que irse. Pero Nadal como sabe esto y no se podía ir, no tuvo otra que esconder la lesión de rodilla y sustituirla por el abdominal, el pie y tantas otras. Que ... ¿la rodilla se le curo milagrosamente?
Nunca mas hablaron de la lesiones de rodilla de Nadal y por lo cual no llego a jugar Wimbledon 09 y tantos otros torneos "supuestamente".
Pregunta a un fanático de Nadal, que paso con su lesión de rodilla que no la menciono mas. No saben que decir. Roddick vapuleo a un flaquito Nadal en sept 04, de pronto en enero 2005 aparecio inmenso en el Australian Open. Pero no dio mas en el 5to set ante Hewitt, no dio mas en el 5to set ante Federer en marzo, pero en abril ya estaba corriendo maratones inimagibables ante Coria y con una musculatura impensable para meses atras. Se metio al gimnasio? sabemos que no. Fueron inyecciones, NO HAY NINGUNA DUDA.

El Rafa apareció en esos datos, pero todo desapareció de la noche a la mañana, para limpiar ese escándalo que hubiera sido de proporciones mundiales.

the only player to once have been better than nadal at clay (I mean, to have played in a higher level than a healthy nadal at clay in a season at least). The levels djokovic has achieved throughout his career are unbelievable. Federer never stood a chance against nadal in clay in 90% or more of their matches in the surface. Djokovic, besides beating nadal 8 times in clay( more than nadal beat him in hard courts), almost always delivered a very tough match in clay, especially after 2011, when he hit his prime for the first time
