  • EcoFlow Wave 2 Review. This video outlines my journey from unboxing to using the Wave 2 in two different types of environments. Running into an issue with the device, and things I've noticed concerning the Wave 2 and its accessories.
    There will definitely be a Part 2 to this once I get a functioning unit in, but this one will serve as a good example of at least 1 issue you can run across using the EcoFlow Wave 2.

    I got the wave2 when it first came out. Used it last winter in my home. I keep it on a cart with wheels and use it in several rooms. Bedroom, living room or electronics room. I only have one tube attached = the exhaust vent tube. I use a piece of wood with a hole cut in it to vent out the window.
    Now it’s July and about 100 degrees everyday. I use it in my living room. Make sure you do a firmware update. I use a bucket to drain condensation water. Dump the water bucket every evening. I purchased the cord to run it directly with solar power but prefer to just hook a extension cord and run it with my house solar power station. My only complaint is every morning when I turn it on I need to use my app to turn on the drain tube. Directions say if your humidity is below 70% you won’t need the drain tube. That’s a lie because humidity here averages 25-40% and it fills up and shuts off unless I use the condensation drain tube. My home is very well insulated and built with 2by6 walls studs. I also use a small swamp cooler in my electronics room now. Home HVAC is set on 75 degrees and doesn’t come on until about 3 pm. I need to install a soft start and bypass switch on my home HVAC so I can run it on solar.

    Just got mine yesterday for my van and not cooling near what I expected. It’s 96 outside and 93 inside my van 🫤 I insulated all windows and closed off cab, so only like a 6. X12 space! Been on for 6 hours ..vented outside and I insulated the exhaust hose too so that heat isn’t accumulating in van. On cool max, vents open, fan on high 🤷🏻‍♀️. And I have a big box fan and several small fans circulating too

      Yeah, While my test was extreme, I've seen channels like HOBOTECH claim it cools his entire workspace in his shed. I'm not experiencing that. It does heat well though. I also am not the only one that experienced the rattling.

    O come on, that room is basically a greenhouse with all those windows, not a good test.

      True! I was trying to push it to the limits. Definitely an unfair test. It works flawlessly inside tents or vehicles or small RV's etc. Which I also have videos on. I'll do some AC tests this summer.

      Exactly what I thought. That’s basically a green house room.

    try using only one hose setup to exhaust

    • @piersstronge1441

      yeah, what kdot said 🙂 Trying to cool the sunroom by drawing *in* 90 degree air is making the Wave fight an uphill battle.. I have one as well (I got here while l was figuring out if I wanted the extra battery so big thanks for your recommendation!) and found that it cooled better if I either didn't use the intake hose or if I had it on the floor where the air was already cooler and just had the unit continually recirculate the air it had already cooled..

    • @EcoSolarReviews
      @EcoSolarReviews  3 місяці тому

      I'll try that when it gets warm! The thing I don't like are the instructions. They are basically non-existent but say it'll cool better WITH both hoses. To me, that seems counter-intuitive too.

    Vibrating panel. Use a shim

    • @EcoSolarReviews
      @EcoSolarReviews  4 місяці тому +1

      True, but for the money, it shouldn't do that. They were great with a replacement though!

    I have my strapped down so no vibrations

    • @EcoSolarReviews
      @EcoSolarReviews  3 місяці тому

      A strap would definitely solve it if it happened again. EcoFlow was good enough to send me another unit though. It's not supposed to do it.

    Ecoflow gave you the unit for free?

    • @EcoSolarReviews
      @EcoSolarReviews  4 місяці тому +2

      Yes, a refurbished unit to test back in October for my other channel. I'm just transferring all of the power station videos to a new channel as there's lots to discuss and test that wouldn't fit well with my other Tool Deals channel.

      @@EcoSolarReviews Why did you get a test unit when testing this all wrong? OK the panel is an issue but is an EZ fix. But the room you tested this in, it's too big? Even the room at the end of your video is too big. But you clickbait this product with Houston, we have a problem.

      @MinM1337 Why do you post this comment without even having watched the video? The problem wasn't that it didn't cool the larger room. Also, he says the rooms were too large. You can still test something this way. You just can't expect a good test result to be the entire room is cooled to 60.
      Do better, dood. Watch the whole thing, pay attention this time, and use your critical thinking skills.

    That rooms to big for the unit. It’s designed for a small camper or tent.

    • @EcoSolarReviews
      @EcoSolarReviews  2 місяці тому

      It can cool smaller rooms. This was a test to see just how big it can go. It struggled in a sunroom, but in the bedroom it made a difference.

      I use my Wave2 at home. It’s on a cart with wheels. This is a 3 bedroom 2 bath home. Very well insulated built with 2 by 6 wall studs. It’s only a 980 square ft home so small rooms. Wave2 works great to cool or heat whatever room I’m in. It’s been 100 degrees outside daily and my home HVAC doesn’t come on until 3pm. But it cools down to about 67 degrees early mornings. I open up all windows at about 5 am.
