Hi there. Yeah Tamiya still does a few kits that are unlike those from anyone else and this is one of them. Retro body and the quirkiness of the 4ws. Many thanks indeed for watching and your kind feedback. Much appreciated 😁👍
Hi there. Yes it's a very nice kit. I really wish that Tamiya would put big bumpers on the modern kits because they protect it much better. Many thanks indeed for watching and your comments 😁👍👍
Hi there. Ah that's good to hear that you liked the format. I do think it's better to try and squeeze the whole build into one video if possible. Many thanks indeed for your kind feedback 😁👍🙂
Hi there. Yeah the rear steer does make this very interesting to drive and different to my other RC trucks. Many thanks indeed for your kind feedback. Best wishes to you 😁
Love it Pete!!! Agree, Bearings are a MUST if not included with a Tamiya kit (some would say hard or steel pinion is needed also). Love the power you have in it, not too much and way better than stock.... On the other hand, I would keep it front wheel steering but that's me.. That is what makes this hobby so good for a lot of people, Do what you want, make it yours and SEND IT!!!!!
Hiya Bob. Yeah with this many gears you don't want them to become wibbly wobbly with worn bushings. Yeah the steel pinions aren't too expensive and are worth it I reckon. With the rear steer I'm thinking that I've already got 4wd 2wd trucks like the Granite so it's good to have something that drives very differently. Yeah something for everyone in this hobby. Cheers for watching mate. Best wishes 😁👍
Or Royt Mate! Yaw reely shud av dun the hole videoh in a brummy aksent! Haha, love it Pete! Nicely detailed build vid with lots of useful explanations and advice. Lots of frantic screwing going on there pal! OK so i agree it was better to use your usual southern accent! 😅Good to see you were watching my speed run video too! Nice idea to add the mods and tips at the end of the video. All the best mate and have a great week ahead! 😎👊🦫👍
Hiya mate. Ha yeah my crap Brummie accent is more Kevin Turvey than you or Rob I think 🤣 Did you spot the 'little Marks' ? 🤣 Yeah hopefully I got the balance between a video that is useful with one that is generally easy to watch. Not sure if I'll do any more like this though as it took far too long to edit and my PC was starting to creak with all the 4k files. Oh yeah there always has to be you on the screen at all times 🤣 Cheers for your great feedback mate. Best wishes 😁👍
@@RCBirds Many thanks indeed for your kind feedback. I was concerned that having the whole build and run in one video might be a bit long but it's not too bad. Thank you for watching 😁👍
Nice run down of the whole build and also what you did with the suspension! I need to work on the bouncy nature of it myself! I will take those tips with me when I do! It looked great running around out there and darker blue looks really nice on there! Take care Pete and I enjoyed the video!
Hiya Addam. Yeah I remember you saying about how crap the suspension is on this. I think those softer springs really help with the CVA shocks on this. I don't think you can entirely engineer the bounce out of it and it is part of the Tamiya charm. I do love the look of this and definitely a fun one. Cheers for watching mate. Best wishes to you 😁👍
Hiya Craig. Yeah these compressed builds take a ridiculous amount of time to edit but I do like the result. Yes I loved the looks of this from the first promo pics of it and so pleased that Mr Smith got it for me. Many thanks indeed for watching mate. Best wishes to you 😁👍
Great video, Pete. The Squash Van is certainly one of the best recent offerings from Tamiya. Non-stop fun driving that bad-boy. And they can handle brushless power with ease. Nice footage there jumping at the golf course, looks like you had a blast. Cheers!
@@poorboysrc Hiya Fil. Yeah I don't think that Tamiya will ever get into the big tough bashers but what they do well is these quirky trucks with awesome retro style bodies. Definitely fun to bounce around in the woods. I did enjoy your videos of this one too. Cheers for your comments mate, best wishes 😁
Hi Pete, Highly Entertaining for a lazy Sunday afternoon. You can bash a Squash Van if you play The Generation Game before building it first... Nice To See You, To See You Nice. As for not having any imagination, i thought you made a good call by adding the Purple although you should have put it on first really thinly and then added the Blue. Just my 2 bobs worth. Turned out alright though, didnt it? Well Done 👍👍👍
@@cw-01creations46 Hiya Pete. Yeah I knew the Brits would get the generation game bit. The set of steak knives in a presentation box is also a Young Ones reference. Any yes I did nearly paint this purple first but in the past I've found it to be more lilac than a strong purple. I'm happy with the blue though. Be good to have a bit of a Tamiya session before too long. Thank you for the kind gift and cheers for watching this and your great feedback. Hopefully catch up with you soon 😁👍
Throughly enjoyed that build Pete , I have to say I’m very fond of building my own RCs , I’m hoping to do something like yourself very soon . Was thinking if you had to pick a kit for me which would it be ? Can’t make my mind up on one . Lovely looking truck that as you say typically Tamiya and that’s not a bad thing at all . Keep up the great work . Stay awesome Chris 🤙🚀💪🤘
Hiya Chris. Well I would say that in terms of being a lovely kit and also looking fantastic and having lovely performance I would say get a Kyosho Turbo Scorpion. This kit is also very nice if you want a quirky bouncy truck. There is of course the classic Tamiya Lunchbox which is cheaper and loads of fun. Also the Konghead is great and comes in cheaper than the Squash Van I think. Cheers for watching and your great feedback mate. Best wishes 😁👍
Always nice to see a Pete build and review before I buy! With that in mind and as a Tamiya kid from the 80s I’m pretty excited about the bbx. Are you gonna do a video on that?
Ha, well I'm glad to be of assistance when it comes to spending your cash 🤣 I've got to the point where I've got a lot of Tamiya's and it's only worth buying a kit if it's notably different to what I have already. The BBX is indeed a kit I would like but funds are a bit low at the moment. Hopefully one day. Many thanks for your kind feedback. Hope you enjoy the BBX if you do get it 😁👍👍
Hi there. Yeah a lot of similarities with the Konghead. Nice platform and I know from having had the Konghead for a few years now that the gearbox will last. Many thanks indeed for your great feedback 😁👍👍
Hiya 😁 Ooh that's very difficult to answer. It's hard to beat the bouncy roly poly nature of the Lunchbox for pure hilarious fun. The Squash Van is more capable and the rear steer is really fun. Thank you for your kind feedback as ever and very best wishes to you 😁👍
This tamiya with this old school body is great.❤️🔥 Nice jumps🤩💪
Oh yeah it's the body shell that really made me want this one. Many thanks indeed for watching and your great feedback 😁👍
Always enjoy your video's! This kit is certainly in my list and your right. Classic Tamiya ! Cheers !

Awesome video Pete! So entertaining 😁
I hope Mark will forgive for cutting the wibbly wobbly down 😂
