- The presentation will take the audience on a journey, a journey across the Spider-Verse where a self-taught, young, talented 14-year-old kid used Blender, to create high-quality LEGO animations of movie trailers. Through the use of social media, this young artist's passion and skill caught the attention of Hollywood producers, leading to a life-changing invitation to animate in a new Hollywood movie.
This will be presented by the young artist himself and the remarkable tale will highlight the impact of Blender and the power of dreams!

Preston I am so proud of you. Everyone in the family is proud of you and you did a great presentation. Thumbs up. ❤
everyone in the multiverse is proud of him!
@@ADUuniverseThat's a good one but also completely true
THIS IS SO SWEEEET 😭❤
We all are, ma'am.
It takes amazing parents to raise such an amazing child! The world is a more beautiful place with your family in it. ❤
It's such a joy to see a young kid spending time on such a productive hobby. With this kind of enthusiasm and creativity, he's going all the places.
bro it's more than a hobby. Since he's been payed for the spiderverse movie he is a professional 3d animator at 15. He is the GOAT
@@Wax_Man It's more than a hobby, sure!
I fucking can't get over Prestons talent. Animation, Arts and now public speaking. I can't even.
Came from a privileged background.
Imagine if we gave everyone decent opportunities
@@Bookish1995 very true indeed
@@Bookish1995 at least blender is free, but having a good pc and stuff is very expensive :(
@@Bookish1995Ong

KINGSTON ??
He's used Blender half his life. Amazing. :)
Half life

I'm 2.5 times this guys age and he's already my hero. I wish I had all the tools he had back when I was 14, and I wish I was half as good as he is now! And I'm genuinely excited to see what he'll bring to the table when he's older if he can already churn out awesome stuff. My 10 year old Blender using daughter watched this with me and she is already inspired.
This comment is really heartwarming
When i was a teenager my parents forbid me to use the internet and I didn't had a computer. Just imagine what could have been..
YOUR 35
Fantastic! I started with 3d animation in 1987 with an AMIGA 1000. Inspired by the shorts of PIXAR. ;-) In the end of the 90s we were making jokes about that some day maybe 20 years old geeks apply for a 3d animation job with 10 years of experience. Now our joke has become reality. Thank you Blender and digital revolution!
lol, thanks ♥
I work for an engraving company in New Zealand. We hired a 20 year old with 12 years of experience in design. Self driven education can produce exceptional talent. I look forward to where Preston goes next.
@@JohnFlower-NZhow is that possible
@@ugwuanyicollins6136 I've seen her early efforts in her portfolio. She was doing selfdriven learning through experimentation and by following UA-cam videos from a very young age. I see my nieces doing the same thing.
@@ugwuanyicollins6136 if I had to guess, the youngster probably came to know about engraving really early and caught on well. Probably discovered they have a knack for it, so they applied for a job. John could have seen that the youngster actually had good proof
"one of us", "one of us", "one of us"!
Sony you outdid yourself. What an amazing expo. Such talent. Congratulations, Preston!
Man, I feel like our current schooling holds so many people back from breaking past it and doing amazing stuff like this. The fact that Preston managed to break past that and contribute to real productions at that young of an age is absolutely incredible. I'm 22 and just barely breaking into the animation industry purely off of connections I've formed, but for me this is all happening rather late into a long time of uninspired education with the occasional passionate subject matter squeezed in there. I'm so happy for him and his family, and I'm rooting for his continued success in every creative industry he goes into during his life.
wdym? he is only able to do this because he has such a nice pc. And anyone can start doing good animation on a potato labtop.
Public speaking isn't easy. He did a great job with the presentation and the animation.
I'm so happy for this young man and I have a feeling this is only the start of us seeing Preston! Well done 🤙🏿🤙🏿
:(
I mean :)

This kid is everything I aspire to be and I am 20 years old just taking up 2D drawn animation. He should feel very proud
The Blender Community Does It Again ⚡️💎⚡️
Preston, I am so proud of you! Great work.
It's so heartwarming to see both the community and his family embrace his passions.
I am 14 year old learning blender this is inspiring
this kid still blows my mind
One of the most potential-filled animators I've seen in years. I simply cannot believe he's a decade younger than me. I'll always be heavily critical of the exploitation in ATSV's production, but to have it be a possible launching point for a legendary career in animation, that's something I'll appreciate.
If you happen to see this Preston, keep at it. No one, not even you can possibly know how far you'll go.
WOW, this kid has genuine passion, awesome work Preston!
made me question myself "what i was doing in that age?!". Great job, well done!
Absolute GOAT. He is my Blender hero, and I am like 2x his age. It really is heartwarming to see people pursue their dreams from such a young age, and I can't wait to see what his future will be like!
He is such a humble and cute kid. I love his videos and he definitely has a big future in the animation industry. I'm glad he has parents like me who support him and help him achieve his dreams.
this guy is a legend.
Now this what I think is a prodigy and genius of our time, hard worker and invested at such an early age, congratulations Preston! Just like Miles, you have this spark in you, and it is amazing.
This kid has a future in movies
I have been subscribed to this man since he had only 350 subscribers. Absolute legend of an animator and 3D artist in general. I am so glad the he is getting the attention he deserves for his stunning work in Across The Spider-Verse! ✌️
Had a smile on my face throughout the entire the video. I wish more kids were given the opportunity to fulfill their dreams and aspirations as much as he is, you love to see it.
Preston's going places. He's proven himself to be an insanely great artist and I can't wait to see more of what he does.
Damn! This kid has a raw talent, good to see support for the various communities.
This is AWESOME. I am very proud of Preston Mutanga. I pray that he has a long and successful career as a professional animator. 🙌🏿
Holy shit, this kid already got a presentation and a prestigious job? It was only a few months ago that he was getting youtube recognition and now he's getting a job that implies a diploma at 14. GG holy shit.
Uber talented. Deserves all the good things.
As soon 23 years old student who starts animation you inspire me dude.
I just wanted to say, we've ALL been there when a video doesn't play on a slide or something doesn't go exactly as we expected, but you took it all in stride and continued your amazing presentation. You're incredibly talented, thank you for sharing your spark of creativity with us!
0:54 "im 15 years old" the way Preston said it it reminds me of miles saying the exact line from the movie..
am i tweaking..
this kid is an absolute gem and i wish him the best in his life
It’s amazing how far he’s coming at such a young age I thought his talent is amazing
Edit: being able to use this program with such great knowledge is amazing as well these programs aren’t easy to learn
This guy is so freaking talented at such a young age. It's amazing.
And being able to animate a scene from an Oscar-nominated movie by Sony at 14 years old only, that's shocking
This makes me smile so much. Never give up, Preston.
This kid is wonderful
I'm so amazed by this kid. Just incredible. Also, Blender Guru has got to be feeling happy about this, he got mentioned twice. It's got to be really rewarding to help people learn blender and then get someone like Preston who took those lessons (and many others) and did such an amazing job.
Preston. What a star.
I don’t even know him and I’m so proud of him like he’s my own family. So glad he was able to show his amazing talents on such a large stage
Oh my god. I’m twice his age and struggle to keep up with the donut tutorial. This kid inspired me to give it another go
I’m younger than him and I can also animate like this
With special tool comes great responsibility.
and that special tools is somehow free to use 🤯
This kid is going places, he should be seriously proud of himself
so so inspiring to see someone with so much genuine passion and fun! hope this young man goes far!! so excited to see what he does next

Unreal what you can do when you put your mind to it, I could barely believe it. Well done Preston, you’re inspiring young and old here!
He 14 biologically, but that's a very happy 35 year old man at heart.
Well spoken and intelligent young man. His dad is some super medical guy though so it's not surprising.
He should be part of the next lego movie fr
He is too good, just amazing.!
I started watching Preston's channel quite a while before Spider-Verse and it was so awesome to see that his work was in one of the best Animated movies of all time!
This presentation reawakened that creative spark that drew me to blender since I found it as a kid as well. Great job on the presentation Preston, and I wish you the best in your future work!
God bless u excellent work 🙏 ❤
Insane stuff! 🙌
What a cool kid. Very impressive!
This is truly inspiring, especially to me since he’s so young. Thank you, Preston, for your amazing contribution to the art community!!!❤️
I love how much of a joyful kid he is, Preston has a big future ahead of him! I'm 19 and crazy inspired, want nothing but the best for him
So proud of a black father inspiring his son.
The dad using Blender to help cure cancer is actually quite 🤯
Amazing and beautiful story
What an inspirational young man, glad he got the opportunity to contribute to the industry at such a young age, hard work pays off.
I'm definitely more than twice his age, and I'm also very inspired by this young man. This guys is awesome 100%!
So inspirating seeing your work on twitter and now doing a presentation on the blender channel.
Bless you, keep going
I love watching this!
how absolutely inspiring!! great job Preston. Shouts out to blender for its accessibility !!!!!
What an inspiring talk by a very humble, charismatic and talented artist! Thanks, Preston!
This is the most wholesome blender talk ever. The Blender (and wider 3D) community is dead proud of you, kiddo.
Undoubtedly an inspiration
Awesome work 😎
I’m truly proud of this young man, this is inspiring to me!!!
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
this just proves that any person (with the right resources, support, and chances) can get pretty far if you are consistent.
But for real, even if this is an exceptional case where all cards were played right, he wouldn't have gotten there without actually putting in the effort. Sometimes we like to excuse ourselves with "maybe if I had x I would be a better at y" but you can make it far if you do it, so just do it. This is your wake up call, this is my wake up call too.
HE IS SO CUTTTTTTTTTTTTEEEEE
Master Jedi at work 🙌🙌🙌🙌💪💪💪💪
Amazing! Very well done Buddy!
YOOO MY GUY ACTUALLY CAME INTO IT LET'S GOOOO 🔥🔥😎😎💯💯
What a great time to live in, Preston. Being 7 and having access to these tools. Great, talk, inspiring, honest, and fabulous. Hats of, and I think, you'll of to a bright future. BTW, same rig here. And i'll be turning 60 soon. Using Blender since version 2.6.
One of the best episodes of blender! A very talented and inspiring person! Keep up the good work!
