They are THE best Rock band on Earth because they all put in a lot of very dedicated practice - 4 or 5 hours a day seems to be fairly normal - and they even have a band camp before tours as well as a lot of rehearsals. 5:15 - No, only MISA plays the bass! Saiki the lead vocalist wasn't in this, as it's one of their instrumentals. Talking of which, try ONSET live, another instrumental! Or anything really, as it's all excellent.
The bassist and the lead vocalist are two different people although they both wear black. Coincidentally, today in Japan 15-Oct is MISA's (bassist) birthday. Happy Birthday MISA-san!
From Japan BAND-MAID is not only cute, but also has various dramas. It may be an example for young people. I heard that your daughter is a drummer, so I will introduce her. Her name is Akane Hirose. She was not good at using double pedals, and there was a time when she worried that she was not suitable for this band. But she wanted to be in this band, so she practiced repeatedly. Now she plays 220bpm songs with a smile at live performances. She also hurt her back during intense live performances. She improved her posture and her drumming, and improved everything. Side guitarist Miku Kobato could not play guitar at all when the band was formed. Now she has grown to the point where she can play solos with her highly skilled friends at live performances. We, the fans, have been watching her grow.
As an old blues rock cat from Detroit, this is the song that changed everything for me regarding Band Maid. It’s a statement piece. Outfits unnecessary. Cuteness unnecessary. Female unnecessary. It stands as a heavy metal instrumental masterpiece on its own merit. The fact that they’re all adorable female Maids is just the bonus fun factor
Saiki: "Taking 5...be back." Kanami: "No worries...hold my coffee." Picks up her PRS and transforms... (In video game robotic voice) "Stand by...MINCHO mode activated!" All hail the genius composer Kanami! PO! BTW...Happy Birthday MISA! Kanpai!🍺
Misa [mee-sah] (Barefoot Assassin) - Bass Guitar Saiki [sigh-kee] (Sai-Chan) - Lead Vocals Miku [mee-kuu] (Small Pigeon) - Rhythm Guitar, Vocals, Lyricist, Band Founder Akane [aah-kah-neh] (Gorilla) - Drums Kanami [kah-nah-mee] (Mincho) - Lead Guitar, Songwriter Saiki the lead singer was not in this video. The band uses several different instrumental songs to give Saiki a break during live shows. Onset and Without Holding Back are a couple more great instrumentals that you should check out at some point.
Many of us saw Band-Maid play “From Now On” live. OMNG! Kanami riffed her ass off. The DB’s matched the BPM’s! So FROM NOW ON, Band-Maid will grow in popularity even faster as their awesome, sold out 10TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR wrapped up at Japan’s 17,000 seat Yokohama Arena on Nov. 26 and at Hong Kong. AND they dropped their new album, Epic Narratives, Sept. 25. Order now! The Maids are one of the hardest working supergroups in the business! Their music, their sound, each of the Maids... and the love that permeates their live events is an experience not to be missed. Hope you can catch them LIVE! Thx, Face!
Great reaction and the instrumentals are very good. This band is one of the best examples of the rebirth of rock as imagined by Band-Maid. Every song is different from all the others. Thanks for reacting to Band-Maid and have fun on your journey exploring the music of Band-Maid.
Greatest band on the planet, now or past, no question. And I was around during Rock’s Golden Era. These 5 beautiful, wonderfully talented ladies have no equal. I LOVE BAND MAID ❤❤
The one thing I would love to see is Kanami play the piano accompaniment part live on the piano. It just adds something special to the song. This, along with Onset and Without Holding Back are some of the best instrumental work I've heard since the days of Don Wilson and The Ventures, The Tornados, The Rip Chords and The Shadows.
Instrumental excellence from Band-Maid! Not a jam session but a deliberately constructed pure Instrumental song with Kanami doing lead vocals on her PPS!
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 I witnessed this song performed live five times with this MV quality in Japan and dropped my jaw five times 😲. I believe so did many of American audience in their 2022 & 2023 US tours. This song has been normally played in the middle of the setlist to give Saiki, lead vocalist, some break. They played this song, however, as opening at festivals and in Guns N' Roses concert in Japan as support to the legendary band. Yeah! they showed off their skills and talents to the audience who knew nothing about the girls in maid outfit on the stage. I felt as if I heard them screaming "Hey guys! Listen to us and open your eyes wide! We are not the persons that you think ! Salute us!" 😄
I'll give you a quick list of my favs but really all 140+ songs are my favs but off the top of my head... - Blooming - Daydreaming - Manners/Black Hole - Gion-Cho - Real Existence; Before Yesterday; Non-Fiction days Here are some great older ones to see how amazing they were even 8-9 yrs ago Best rabbit hole in the known universe; well except for that opera singer alien gal from The Fifth Element movie she was something huh?
Thanks much! And, here is her channel: www.youtube.com/@kelciewinningham She is the drummer of a band called Room Twenty-Seven, they have a few albums on iTunes and Spotify I believe
Hiya! The lead singer wasn't in this video. Saiki the lead singer has had throat surgery in the past so the band are very careful with her voice. They play 2+ hour sets so to give Saiki a break around mid-set they do three things. 1. Play an instrumental, 2. Miku (rhythm guitar) takes lead vocals for a song or two (she usually has one track per album where she is lead vocalist) and 3. Miku will do her legendary and hilarious "Magic Time" MC set. Then Saiki comes back on to finish the set. Even though Saiki no longer needs a break nowadays, it's become more of a tradition. So yeah, they have a number of really cool instrumental tracks. Check out the live MV of "Onset" for another instrumental banger!
I have a few suggestions of Band-Maid videos to react to. Going back to a few earlier videos will show you both their talent and versatility and how far they have come as a group. The songs are "Manners/Black Hole" a two-fer official live music video, "Moratorium", the official live video from the Tokyo Zepp Theatre, and "Wonderland", the official live video on the Band-maid UA-cam channel.
How are they so good ? It helps if you have supportive parents who can pay for music lessons (usually for beginners that seems to be piano). It also helps if you live somewhere that values music education, so schools teach basic music from a young age. As students get older they have "wind orchestras" and marching bands they can join, as well as Light Music Clubs (where students can learn guitar, bass, drums, singing etc.) It also helps if students are imbued with a work ethic and are prepared to do the necessary graft of learning, practicing, rehearsals and public performances. But beyond this background, you really need to have something else that lifts you above the average, some people call it talent.
In Japan, music education is compulsory for everyone. From elementary school to high school (music theory, basics of playing instruments, basics of orchestra). And there are many after-school clubs where school groups already operate. And many stars don't turn up their noses, but come to schools to give demonstration lessons in playing or singing for children.
@@agdtec I did an episode on October 23 called please subscribe to my daughters UA-cam channel, you can find it by going through the past videos chronologically. Also, unfortunately, she doesn’t live with us as she is 26 years old. Thanks! 🤘🤘🤘

How are they so good? Skills, hard work and NO ego. No one can touch them. No one. Thanks for another great reaction!

Kanami lets the guitar do the singing on this one- We still love you Saiki (Vocals). Misa plays the Bass.
This, by the way, is absoutely amazing live. I got to hear it standing basically ten feet in front of Kanami.
