Most important thing said: ‘make yourself valuable’. That applies to not only work, but to friends and family and life in general. Make yourself valuable.

I think you are already valuable, you (you in general) may not realize it, but you're somebody's child, brother, sister, aunt, friend, grandparent, teacher... embrace it. ❤

This couple’s wisdom is priceless! The fact that they’ve prioritized relationships, balance, and perseverance over material things speaks volumes. It’s a great reminder that success isn’t just about money-it’s about the quality of life you build. Thank you for this!

A buddy in the Army gave me the same advice. Don't go to bed angry. We have always practiced it and 35 years later we are still happily married after marrying at 18 and 20 with many people saying it wouldn't last.

My husband and I both turned 50 years old in Dec of 2024. We, like this couple got married young (aged 25) and had all 4 of our children by the time we were 30. My husband had just finished law school when we got married and money was tight. But he always encouraged me to go back to school and finish my degree. I eventually earned 2 bachelor degrees (changed professions which is why I have 2). I’ve always felt that I was somehow neglecting my children in terms of taking some time to study during those years. I’m so glad to hear this woman validate my decision to earn my education. I would have felt like I didn’t achieve enough in life had I not went back. I’m thankful for my supportive husband and now my children value higher education as well. Only 2 left in college and both will be graduating May of 2025 with their bachelor degrees!

I sort of agree with what she's saying but times are completely different now.
We have so many women with all sorts of degrees but they have no kids and no husband. Now in their 40's and they are miserable. All that focus on getting an education but zero focus on building a family. This is one of the reasons why antidepressant use is so high with older unmarried, childless women and its rising every year. Its really sad.

Exercise and nutrition are vital. Neither of these folks are overweight and they both are cognitively sharp. This can be the norm, but as you hear from him, he began laying the groundwork at 60…probably younger. It’s curious to me that so many may focus on what these people have for regrets and will not apply what the man describes as his reason for still being at his best at almost 91…caring for his physical health.
She is a wise woman…valuable advice! I did what she is speaking about - I had a regret about not going to university so at 57 I went back to school and earned an Applied Psychology diploma. It isn’t a PhD but I finished top tier and realized something…I wouldn’t have wanted to be a psychologist, I no longer envy them, the job is daunting. I’ve resolved that regret and have moved on to address other things I regretted not doing when I was a young adult.
The take-away? It’s never too late to be what you truly could have been…in some way, shape or form.

I agree that one of the most important thing is to provide a happy home to come to. Nothing based on size or material wealth, but a house filled with love, warmth, kindness, comfort and good food. I know she wanted a lot of education, but I think all those accumulated alphabets behind a name are a waste of money. Live life, learn from your experiences in the world. Travel, meet people, talk to people, learn about other cultures. That's the best most invaluable education you could ever get. And finally, I agree, we should all be more charitable. ❤

The old lad got it right, the old lady really thinks that school is that missing on her life. Probably she's been one of those who think schools educate people, but they actually just pass on information. The real education is already within, shared and reflected in nature itself.

Yeah you can get another Masters degree to "make yourself valuable", BUT you are only as valuable as the weakest link and that is the Boss. My mom got THREE masters and still got pushed out because of age. Plus they knew she was the BEST, as they often had her FIX other's mistakes. Degree means nothing if they don't want you for whatever reason. Then you will be SHOCKED!!! when they lay you off. But but but my degree!?

I also wish l had continued with school and finished my education and had a degree or 2. I got married at 16. I was young and naive. But l don't regret bcoz in our time, girls only continued with education according to the family tradition.
I regret getting married at tender age, bcoz l never enjoyed with my peers.
If ever there is next life.
I will only get married after finishing my education and have a business or a job.

I am 41 years old, at the gym nearly everyday, go for a three mile run three times a week and do martial arts two times a week. I have been doing this for 15 years. 1:53 is the reason why I stretch more.
I have seen the older people have "a fall" and within 6 months they die. All of this could be prevented if they exercised and stretched more.

My greatest achievement in life are my children. Everything else was just places and things. Always trying to have the newest latest and greatest is an uphill climb that in later years you realize was not worth it. Time with my children and building a strong family was the best investment of my lifetime. Watching them now as good grounded adults and the strong family bond we have is priceless. I have no regrets on raising my babies over building a career. We always made ends meet somehow. I have in later years worked and the difference in investing your time and energy in a family vs a job is in the end the job isn’t there for you, but your family is. That is what I find is the truth.

This is the same as those videos of Uber wealthy dispensing advice about how money isnt everything. These people are old but likely would have lived identical lives given a second opportunity. Also, there's a common misnomer that being old is tantamount to being good or wise. In reality bad people also grow old and are still bad people. Stupid people also sometimes grow old-theyre still stupid. All old people, throughout history, always say the same-we had it harder, young people this or that. Youd think after 90 years, youd learn to just let things be. Young Karens sometimes grow old...but theyre still a Karen

I so apprecite these Videos and Story"s ..but the one thing they truley lack is the fact that Life is a growing and learning experiance and is individual ..It shapes us all going through the ups and downs and lessons learned...Takeing advice is nice for certain things like financial and investments..but allow yourself the beautiful experiance to learn and grow and create also your Wisdom regardless who wants to hear it...
