Introducing Lolo Lovina!
Lolo Lovina (‘Red Beer’) are an intoxicating Marrickville home brew of Unza, Swing, and Balkan Gypsy beats. Led by the Romani-Gypsy vocalist Sarah Bedák, Lolo Lovina’s music embodies the cosmopolitan essence of artists who embrace their native cultures, and breaks rules of them all. With an ensemble of virtuosic World musicians including Serbian Romani drummer Nenad Radic, Ukrainian keys player Leon Beshlei, Maltese bass player Nathan Gatt, Bulgarian Kaval player Ivaylo Karamenliev, Fabulous Contraption and Frog Fest’s Dave Carr on guitar and Sydney based virtuoso guitarist Noa Kidd. Lolo Lovina has played the Sydney Opera House, Havana World Music Festival, Woodford Festival, Dark Mofo, SXSW Texas, Vivid, across the Pacific Islands, Macau China, East and West Europe. Their album Rroma Sapien received a 4-star review in the renowned London based World Music magazine ‘Songlines’ and has made the global Transglobal World Music Charts.
