I'm currently applying to office/clerical jobs but it doesn't seem as easy as it looks. When i see other people do it at doctors offices it looks easy. But obviously I know no job is easy. I had a job last year at a law firm doing clerical work but quit after three days. Now I'm doing another Clerical job at another place and I'm so nervous cuz this is my second chance and i don't wanna mess it up. If it gets too hard i just have push through can't give up
@@Sweet_lady1992I have an interview , not sure if I’m ready to deal with so many different people from patients to employees and phones at the same time
Loved this vlog, really fun to get a peek into your work life. I actually had a minor identity crisis last year because of those exact thoughts like “I’m not doing enough, I’m a failure, What am I doing with my life?” So I’m definitely a big fan of normalising the 9-5! I love your channel for that reason, you’re so relatable and humble and sweet and keep doing what you do because you’re amazing ☺️🙌❤️
I just got a job as a hotel receptionist at a really nice hotel and i am so nervous about starting.. also excited but i am so terrified of not knowing what to expect with the job
Hi love if you want to know about being a medical assistant there is a awsome ebook online I added the name on my channel. As a Medical Assistant you can work administrative and clinical and have great job security, Im currently a student MA and it has helped encourage and inform on whats next and how to make the most out of the career!
I just got a receptionist job as well. Do you all have any helpful advice for me? How do you prioritize your tasks when everything happens at once? Would be very thankful.
@@thebirchtree8871 don't stress too much, I think over time you learn to prioritize and you'll know instinctively what you should do first ☺️ good luck
@@Gladioli10 thank you so much for replying! How is it for you? Do you like your job so far? I will be starting at a smaller law firm, so I’m really excited.
I am leaving the health care world I am going from working part time 1130pm-7:30am to full time mon-fri 8:30am-4:30pm. As a receptionist it's going to be a huge change for me. so watching you at your job is really motivating for me to make the change so thank you.
Thanks for taking us for a glimpse of your day to day life. One of my jobs is also a receptionist (called "front desk attendant" at the hotel/lodge I work). It's normally a rotated shift that includes weekends, I'm someone who needs her weekends off and I made an agreement that I'll be the best darn employee they ever had as long as I get my weekends unless they absolutely, positively can't get someone to come in for Saturday or Sunday and I'll even work extra hours during the week (for most it's 25-30 hours but I usually work 35-40 hours a week) and we've both held up our end of the bargain. I also stayed after work once voluntarily to help some guests care for their kid who had a pretty bad flu. We even got a five star Yelp review and a shout out to "the sweet and kind young lady in the sunglasses" (I wear sunglasses 24/7, that's the first thing people notice about me). I ended up making the local news for what I did, it was to me just the right thing to do as a human caring for her fellow humans. My other job is a tour guide job I work in the summer (affiliated with the town historical society). I'm blessed to have awesome coworkers and bosses and most of the guests are nice (but occasionally I get some not so nice guests, usually though they're just having a bad day and calm down after venting to a sympathetic ear). And then you get those that are about as much fun to encounter as a calorite from Bowser's Inside Story. Thankfully they're rare.
Great video finally someone giving a real impression of what a real job is like. Not sugar coating it. Must be a pain to commute that far each day. Anyway, great video. 😇🙂
Great video. Just love your perspective . Makes sense 🤔 you are very relatable .very sensible and no your own mind for only being 25. You should be proud of yourself. X take care 🙂 💜
Very nice loved this. Plus your voice is very relaxing and soothing are you Irish??? I am about to start at a manager at Marriott property loved the views of this hotel. You are very professional. Keep up the good work :)
This was a really interesting video, you spoke a lot of good sense around not be too influenced by what others are doing and as long as you enjoy what you do, continue doing it. I retired from my job last year, I did enjoy the job but I can say that I don't miss it! I look at it like it was a chapter of my life (a very big chapter!) but a chapter that is now closed and I've moved on and opened a new chapter. My new chapter of retirement gives me so much more time and enables me to do so many things I've never had the time to do. I hope you continue to enjoy your job though I have to say that a working day of 6am - 7pm now just seems unthinkable to me!❤
Ah thank you ☺️ Obviously I’m still young, you never know what could happen - I hope to find something with abit more flexibility in the future as I don’t think I could deal with the long days & commute for the rest of my life 😂😩 So glad you’re enjoying retirement!! Xx
Keep going Holly! Throughout my working life I found new doors opened for me, you have a very good head on your shoulders so I'm sure new doors will open for you!❤
So i got a job at a hotel as a receptionist but one thing im annoyed at is that they didnt tell me i gotta cook the meals alone and same with breakfast 🍳
Great video lovely. Never doubt yourself. Look what you've achieved by the age of 25. Like you showed your day begins at 6 am and not home until 7 pm. Hope you enjoy your weekend and a few well deserved glasses 🥂 of vino xxx
Hi Holly, I'm about to start working in a similar environment in the Support Team specifically, and it was nice to have an insight on what this duty involves. What's the biggest challenges you've faced at the beginning when you started or even during the work week? Thanks
Hi! Oh good luck ☺️ The biggest challenge I faced when starting reception work was probably back when I used to work on the ground floor and anyone could walk into the building and approach the desk, I got some demanding to see the CEO in a really high tone (turned out he was on a black list or something) so that was quite challenging to deal with baring in mind I’d only been there a few months. But now working on a client meeting room floor I don’t have as many challenges I’d say.. but one that I would say is if it’s super busy, back to back meetings and a meeting over runs we have to be on it to find an alternative for the next client meeting which can be quite difficult if all meeting rooms are full 😩
I’m a sahm mom now, but being a front desk/receptionist was my favorite job! Consistent schedule and hours, generally low stress, and good for people like me who can’t have a physically draining job🩷 if i ever go back to work i’ll definitely be looking for a front desk position again
I have a interview as a receptionist soon!, normal hour times but it’s about 50 hours per week🙈. And does your boyfriend take you to work? That’s adorable😊, Goodluck with your career
9 to 5 jobs no weekends are the ones most people want believe it or not. Retail/Restaurants are glutted with people that want to leave them. This is probably going to make alot of people laugh at me,but I have been trying to get even a little pt job as a Receptionist for almost 2 yrs to escape retail/restaurant hell. I just want to not do those hell jobs anymore with flexible, unstable schedules and unstable pay. This looks like challenging work, but I'd love to be challenged but in a different work environment. No weekends and a work life balance.
