  • Good Morning, Reptilians! This week, we’re taking a look at a few (of many) reasons why your bearded dragon might be glass surfing. (Also, look at me uploading a video 2 Sunday’s in a row…. I did it! 🎉)

Other reasons I've heard for glass surfing beardies/other reptiles:
    * Enclosure is too small
    * Male sees another bearded dragon across the room
    * Something in the enclosure scared them

Thank you so much for this video! I had asked another reptile channel this question in private and they made fun of my question in a video. I'm a new owner so that put me off reptile channels until I found you and a couple other helpful people. Thank you again!

I worked at a reptile shop for a while. So I ended up taking a few rescues home. One of the bearded dragons I rescued was surrendered to us with mouth rot. I noticed when he was in quarantine when humans would walk by he would start glass surfing freaking out so I would stop pick him up he would calm down and sit with me and relax I ended up falling in love with him because of this and taking him home getting him treated his mouth rot is completely gone now. When I get up in the morning as soon as he sees me moving about he starts glass surfing he starts up against his PVC front doors moving back and forth until I take him out once I open his doors he calms down I've honestly started just letting him come out on his own and opening the door for him. Once the doors are open he's relaxed I have a basking spot set up for him next to one of my windows that he loves and sits in all the time he'll go over there when he's ready but he just wants to see what I'm doing what's going on in the house

Great video as always! You almost had me wanting to add a beardie to my collection..... right up until "prone to parasites" lol 😆
I'll stick to my snakes for the time being.....who knows.... maybe one day 😊
Hope Den is adjusting to his new job. Wishing you a very speedy recovery and hoping you feel better soon.

You forgot two very important things. Lack of enrichment in the tank. Switch things up every now and then, even if it's just rearranging a log and a couple of rocks. Move the food dish, because they love to forage. The other thing is, maybe your beardie is well socialized, and just like to hang out with you. He's looking forward to his daily hour of riding around on your shoulder. Give your beardie some love!

This was a great video, and I think a bunch of it applies to my Mountain Dragons and Blueys as well. Plus, the blooper reel at the end of this one had me ROLLING! 🤣🤣🤣

Our beardie is about a year old and we have taken her to the vet multiple times trying to get rid of parasites. She had 2 different kinds one is completely gone but she still has a lot of pin worms. So the vet has us doing panacur at a low dose once every 2 weeks four times. She's about to get her last dose this week and then we wait 3 weeks and check her stool again. In the beginning she was doing good with it. Eating normal going to the bathroom normal with no blood. After the second dose we started seeing blood again. We have her the 3rd dose and we aren't seeing blood but now she's not eating much and is glass surfing like crazy. This is the 3rd time we are giving her medicine for parasites and each time it makes her go crazy. The vet didn't even want to do another round but the numbers were to high to ignore and we were seeing blood. I'm upset because she doesn't seem to be getting better no matter what we try. We feed her a mixture ofmeal worms and dubia roaches and always offer her a mix of greens. I notice a pattern when she's on this medicine that at some point she will stop eating everything except the worms (which i know isn't the best for her). Any suggestions you have or anything we may be missing would be helpful. Her temps are good in her enclosure we test the uv that seems to be good as well.

Yep definitely the poo thing. At least they let you know that they have gone. Mine are all on bioactive which is great as my eldest dragon has laid two clutches this year. The fun is I have 3 females so that will be fun later.

Great video and very informative, thank you! I just adopted a 1 year old bearded dragon about a week ago, any tips on how to get her comfortable with me handling her?
I am trying to get her to eat greens by me offering it to her, and she did take a couple of bites today 🎉

Hello. I have a newbie, and he's in a 40 breeder. I like the tanks I see in your video. Did you make them, or if you purchased them, please provide this information. Thank you so much. 💓 ❤
Also, can you recommend the best basking bulb, substrate, etc?

Hi. Honest question. I’m considering a reptile as a pet. I have no prior experience with reptiles, but I have had dogs, cats, cockatoos, pigeons and a turtle as pets previously, so I’m quite confident that I’m able to give it a good life if I have the basic knowledge.
However: None of my friends or family members have any experience with reptiles, so I’m starting from scratch when it comes to reptiles.
I like to be able to interact with the animal and not just show it off.
Do you have any recommendations for a “beginner” reptile for someone that’s dedicated, but inexperienced?
    Thanks!

She said meal worms will cause impacts on, ok crickets have a hard shell and so don’t roaches and she said there fine. She’s only providing my statements to support the way SHE FEELS. I know breakers that have giving babies meal worms and never ever has he had one with a blockage or impaction.
