Hello Gideon, What a great episode! I also track and count steps on my smartwatch, and you’re right-10,000 steps every day is not that easy. As for me, I regularly reach my goal without any problems-8,000 or 9,000 steps for sure. The rest might be from hand movements that my smartwatch records, so it’s pretty easy to cheat-or better said, the results aren’t always accurate. I have to admit that yesterday, due to the rainy weather in Germany, I didn’t have the motivation to go for a brisk walk. Thank you so much for your inspiring videos! I discovered you on UA-cam just the other day, and I truly enjoy listening to you and your cute british accent
Hi Teacher Gid, It was a very interesting article, but also controversial at the same time. If we know that 6,000 steps take 1 hour, then 10,000 steps will take 1 hour and 40 minutes (1:40). That's about 5 miles. I think it's not an impossible goal if we take care of our needs while walking. Of course, what should be taken into consideration here is consistency and individual circumstances for each of us. I don’t imagine that 10,000 steps are a magical solution. Sticking to a certain habit or routine, like walking for half an hour a day (equivalent to about 3,000 steps), might be effective and won’t push oneself beyond their limits. This is also what doctors recommend. However, I won’t promise to take even a single step in the cold and rain. Instead, I’ll wrap myself in a blanket by the heater, hoping for a sunny day in the coming week to continue my steps. Thank you very much, Teacher Gid, and have a nice day!😊🌻
I have reached 9000 steps, but not every day! I usually walk about 5000 steps. My phone counts the steps but I don't think about it. Three of my cousins walk a lot, even though they're older than me. I agree with Claudia and you. Cheers.🎉
Thanks again for you new video, as usual a very good one. I really like the way you explain things and the tópics you choose, interesting and amusing most of the time. I’ve been studying english for a long time, belive me, I am a woman in my sixties and you can imagine all the english classes I went trough Anyway I just really wanted to express my gratitude and my admiration for your good work, and as you say keep it up!!!
Hello, Teacher Gideon! I think you are attractive, polite and mild-mannered! You are the perfect English gentleman, hehhe! I am actually aspiring to become an English teacher myself! Do you know that I have already acquired my TEFL certificate? I attained the 168 hour Level 5 TEFL certificate as well as three advanced shorter courses to go along with that! In due time, I will also acquire my bachelor’s degree in teaching the English language as well! Wish me luck! I love your podcasts, they are interesting and relaxing! And I love England! Take care, Teacher Gideon and keep up the good work! Cheers!
You’re far too kind! Thank you for your lovely and encouraging comment! Congratulations on your TEFL certificate. My advice to any new teacher is to let your personality come out and find a way of teaching that you like!
These days I’ve listened your podcasts again and again! Your heartfelt explanation help me understand new vocabulary 😊 Thank you from Japan.
Go, Teacher Gideon! Go, England! ENGLAND FOREVER! Cheers!
