In the design line of Pia Helene Koefoed - Global Shop Design all products are created in small Swiss manufactories
Her self-designed rug "ULVA" now complements her furniture collection and will be presented at "Neue Räume 22" in Zurich-Oerlikon from September 15 - 18.
Ps. We will also be on site at this exhibition for a live interactive tufting. We are looking forward to your visit.

No way! A machine to save one's hands from carpet makers' arthritis and blisters! I'm still going to use the traditional Persian technique though even if it takes me ten years to complete 🤣 But what is this machine? How clever!
That's a tufting gun and the technique is called hand tufting. The craftsmanship itself comes from America but since covid-19 this craft received a high reputation all around the world.

Thank you very much! We have many different delivery wheels on the machine which we can change to make different pile heights.
You cut that color lower that do different color and cut it higher
@@kramis_teppich_design 🤔 So basically you have to adjust the pile height of the gun to achieve the look. I think with a regular tufting gun that can be achieved but its sort of a pain to have to go back and forth to get the intended look each time. Thanks!
@@Beyt_El Yea, there is a reason the "regular" tufting guns are very cheap. There is a lack of quality of life.

This is awesome!! How do you vary the depth in the rug? Do you need to shave parts of the rug down or if there some other method to accomplish this?
Thank you! We can change our pile heights and also change to another machine to make loops. This is how we get such structure.

How do you create different heights?
We can adjust the pile height by changing the delivery wheels on our machines. We have about 20 different wheels.

How to rectify any unevenness in design,like my rug has triangle boxes which are a bit uneven in shape

Sorry, I can't tell you that but they only weave you the cloth when you order several kilometers of it.
