    If you just listen, he gives you some really true advice. Many artists study design, painting, and in an art school-he didn’t get that. He had to glean it from others pretty fast.

    I loved his comments regarding energetic painting. As you raise your own vibration, your creation is matched.

    Great Art teacher and the interview that followed was interesting and amazing to listen to. When I first saw this Artist,did not realize how good he was , then I saw his paintings and was astounded, and I tuned in for more. I let to many years go by without practicing my art and now playing catchup.

    This is excellent instruction. His emphasis on composition, shapes and tonal values are really important but can be confusing and yet he explains it all so well.
    Loved the accent and the cowboy hat.

      LeBot I beg to differ, why did he place his darkest wash in burned umber for the house which is the lightest and the lightest mid tone?

    I think learning to paint landscape well, is important before attempting to learn any style of abstract. I think the main reason folks who start with abstract without the background of what nature teaches stay amateur for sometimes ever. Understanding tones, emotions, soft and hard edges, nature offers it all.

    Would you please explain to me why Bill put his darkest value in his was for the roof, which is the lightest mid tone?..

      I do not own the full video, but my guess is that Bill wiped/carved it out later, as he often does with underpainting. Is that what he did?

    I was extremely interested in this demo until Bill got to approximately 44:17 and placed his darkest value in his color wash for the shapes of the 2 houses which are both the lightest in all of the composition. I will stop here as it is too late for me to continue but hopefully you can give me an explanation as to why he did this. Thanks!

      Jigger2361 I’m assuming it is...however, why would anyone want to buy his video if I haven’t had a reply to my question a month ago. Still waiting...

      @@mona2242 likely because you came across as a little arrogant and "know - it - allish". First why would you want to buy the video if you know more than Bill Davidson? I think your purchase would just enflame you more lol you would be watching it and yelling at the screen "Bill!!!! whay did you use a cool shadow there when we all know it should be warm!!!" lol (i can't stop chuckling) ... and seriously, these people are trying their best to help the world during a very crappy time. You gotten loosen and lighten up, Moana. Just enjoy your talent and appreciate what is trying to be accomplished here. Heck, I wouldn't respond to you either, think about it. We all have enough on our collective plates without the added stress of dealing with something so petty

    • @mona2242
      @mona2242 4 роки тому

      Jigger2361 for your information, I have already bought a video from them. So I gather from your comment it’s not wise to ask questions here but just to applaud. Asking a question proves I do not know it ALL . Enough said . Move on ...

      Jigger2361 moreover, I paid a hefty price for my 2 videos ...our Canadian dollar this past July was worth 64 cents US.....I buy to help me learn and to help them out. But this is obviously lost on such rude , bitter people like you. Get a grip ...
