Why am I obsessed with this cheesy song? I can listen to it over and over... I love at the end of the song when the camera pans in on the poster of Ciji's haunted face, and then fades into her dead body. Chilling.
I remember this episode when it first came on in the early 80's. I was shocked that they killed Ciji because she seemed poised to be a regular. Her character had so many plot possibilities.
It seems hard to fans too figure however a lead actor can be exonerated from violence or death of any kind is why they sometimes recreate their roles too fullfil that hole.
Let's hear it for Miss Ginger Ward! Imho, Kim Lankford really tore this song up! Kenny and Ginger really go through some tough stuff in season 2 and/or 3. This was Ginger's best moment! Thanx for the 5 star posting!
I'm a geek when it comes to love songs. I was about 14 when this aired and I STILL love this song. I wish I could find a clear copy of it to listen to all of the time.
It always gives me chills to hear this song. I'm 36 now and I remember watching the reruns with my mother when I was 8 and 9 years old on the TNT when it had its very first run of honestly has not seen The light of Day in the United States since I was a teenager when it went off soaked it due to music licensing you were never seen knots landing ever again in the United States of America unless you have old rerun copies like I am grateful to have all 344 episodes.
thanks for posting this! i remember watching this when it first aired. everyone was FLOORED! that they killed ciji, one of the best cliffhangers of the '80's
Her singing juxtaposed with Ciji's body floating in the waves was creepy. Effective directing. They did the same thing in an episode where Did was being arrested and Karen was on stage with Diana singing in a play. Anyone else remember?
I remember watching it the night it aired, seeing her body washing up on the shore in the dark - it was a real shocker. It was the talk around the water cooler the next morning at work. Many people were so emotional that Ciji's character was killed off.
I'm sure it was written for that show, originally. Funny how they get that big fat sound with backup vocals, out of a drummer, bass player and guitarist. LOL ....Like, where's the keyboard??? Ginger's cheesy vocal version can cut it here, but it can't stand up to Ciji's well-worked vocal abilities. ♫
+ABBY AND GARY I think it was 2 seasons later. Cathy Geary (of course, set up by Abby) appeared wheeling a tray to Gary & Abby's honeymoon suite. Gary nearly had a coronary. LOL
Wow, seemed longer to me. So Ciji died during the 1983-84 season and Abby & Gary wed during the 1984-85 season? Seemed further apart to me, but thanks.
@@robertscott8344 Well, Hartman had recorded about 3 albums before appearing on Knots Landing. Her last one "Letterock" featured several of its songs on Knots Landing. In my mind, at least, that would be an "accomplished professional".
16 years posted and only 45 comments for this beautiful song.
Love,love love this!

She was a good vocalist as well

Très belle chanson j'adore
Miss the days of the prime time soaps.
Ciji nooooooo!!! How I loved her. I remember this episode, and just now I got goosebumps watching it again. Thanks for posting.
Wow! Just wow!
A very memorable scene.
Kim Lankford's singing was just amazing as well.

Love the song, love the episode, Knots at it's best.
Eff Glee! Knots was the show that best merged music and television!

I remember not being able to sleep after that episode. Very chilling!
Yes that was the opening episode of season 2. Hitchike.
Richard and Laura LOL. What a sad marriage.
@NMBGuyNextDoor I'm pretty sure it was an original song.
I would like to know was this an original song? If not, who wrote and performed it?

@ncjuppiter her voice cleary drowns out lisa's
Ginger vocals she sung with was so good that the audience just took a time like they thought back to the very first time they fell in love.
then ciji became cathy geary the next season
ABBY AND GARY abby and Gary. Hello!
+ABBY AND GARY I think it was 2 seasons later. Cathy Geary (of course, set up by Abby) appeared wheeling a tray to Gary & Abby's honeymoon suite. Gary nearly had a coronary. LOL
SoapsNthings no it was the very next season
Wow, seemed longer to me.
So Ciji died during the 1983-84 season and Abby & Gary wed during the 1984-85 season?
Seemed further apart to me, but thanks.
SoapsNthings Since Abby and Gary were only married on 2 two years..The chase seemed longer than the marriage??
They tried to make it look like Ginger did it.
Elle chante bien mais elle fait une drôle de tête !!!! Trop d'épaulettes peut-être 😂
Ginger's singing kills ciji.Lol..
The chanting vocal sound that she gives in her performance you mean ciji just sung without all that pressure.
@linny50 and lasted 14 seasons
Too bad Val isn't there. I am sure that ciji would have forgiven her for accidentally pushing her against the coffee table.Lol..
Ginger couldn’t sing
She doesn’t sing this song, she shouts!, this is not a good version!
I agree Lisa just said her notes 🎶🎵 for everyone to ear and Ginger just shouted out every angle instead of singing slowly.
Lisa Hartman has a better voice than Kim Lankford...my honest opinion!
Well Lisa was an accomplished professional singer before Knots Landing. But Kim Lankford wasn't bad in her own right, and performed this song well.
@@harrykargenian110she sounded like she had some auditioning for the role to play as a singer she didn't seem like no accomplished professional.

@@harrykargenian110 thanks 👍 for your sincerity but I was referring to Kim lankford as no professional sorry 😔.
@@harrykargenian110 and by the way what was the title of the records on the album letterbox if she wasn't ametuering?
CJ was a way better Singer🎤then Ginger
Cj was a better singer then ginger
