Hi Rona, your presentation of theory & explanation is good & clear, I have up great myself for a big glider purchase from SHS, so I watching your videos. Now I try to settings all these functions for my Futaba 16sz programs. I hope to learn more about your programs on the videos.👋
Hi Ronald Thanks for 18SZ vids very informative, im new to futaba as i was flying spektrum im finding with your help its quite easy to setup. Keep the videos coming.
I have a glider (No Motor, using a high start). 7-channel FASST receiver. Ail1, Elev, Flap1, Rudder, Ail2, Flap2. I have all flight modes working (launch, cruise, thermal) but Butterfly does not raise the ailerons at all. It is not inhibited. The flaps are on the throttle stick, but I can't get the ailerons to raise when I lower flaps. Any ideas? Not enough channels? Your videos are very helpful, but this one has me baffled.
@heron9524 If you have an aileron differential setup, it is retained even when you have a butterfly setup. In other words, when butterfly is being deployed (by the throttle stick or on a switch) and you move the ailerons, the aileron differentials will remain the same like before. If the butterfly is fully deployed and the servo has reached it's limit, then you will noticed that only the reflex of aileron works. Hope that helps.
I have the 16izs have noted that the butterfly sub menu does not show up on the acro or plane config. but the air brake does. i have a powered glider would like to set up flaps and crow can you comment on the correct procedure. thanks
We are not certain if butterfly setup should be applied on a biplane for the concern about stalling. For gliders without flaps, we would then deploy butterfly only with ailerons downwards(like the flaps) and elevator (pushing the nose of the glider downwards). This is done gradually and with lots of care. Hope that helps.
Hi Bo Han, thank you for your comments. In our earlier episodes running up to this episode 12, we mentioned that this is a glider set up. Butterfly setup is also available for "Airplane" if the airplane has flaps and ailerons wing type.

Hi. What is the brand of the electric glider behind you?
Hi. The glider is a OK Model Mace. The new version of this model can be found here:

Hi ronald.
What does the differential rate do in the butterfly menu? Is it to see rates of elevator and airlerons?

Butterfly setup is only availible in glider menu. So you will have to change from acro/plane to glider.n
Mine is called airbrake in my 16iz...must be the new update

How can I do this on a biplane with no flaps?

You should mention butterfly menu only appears when the model type is Glider.
