This makes me sick. This dog is not a toy, be gentle with it. Don’t play with it’s face like that. You also don’t need to dump water on it’s face. I have raised 7 golden retrievers, trust me. When they were puppies I would sit in the tub with them so they would be more comfortable.

The comments here crack me up. The only thing I saw wrong in this video is that the puppy obviously didn't like the blow dryer and it should have been shut off. I've raised 5 Goldens from 8-week old puppies over my lifetime. They are sturdy dogs. If you think this video was rough, you should see the video of my current Golden when he was brought home at 8 weeks old, playing with his 90lb German Sheppard brother. He didn't back down from his big brother from day 1, and they played rougher than anything in this video. Dallas will be 2 next year, and he's a happy Golden. The only time he barks is when playing with his brother. He loves water, his bath time, getting a good warm dryer after his bath, just an overall wonderful animal. Lighten up. They were just enjoying their new puppy as a family and never put her in harm's way.

Jesus christ, all these snowflakes in the comments who think puppies are human babies. Dogs are descended from wolves. They are fierce predators. Retrievers are working dogs. They're built tough. They enjoy rough play. I grew up with a lab/retriever, and we used to go out on the lawn and wrestle, all snarls and growling and snapping and making ferocious noises. Anyone watching would have thought we were in a life-or-death struggle. But when we were both tired, we'd collapse on our backs side by side in the grass, panting, both of us covered in cuts and bruises. Big dogs love rough and tumble, even and especially as puppies.

When my Golden was 3-4 months we gave him his first bath. He wasn’t a huge fan.. and neither is your pup. By the way, don’t put water or soap on the face. Never ever, should you let water in the ears or eyes or nose. You should do proper research before doing these things.. but the one thing you did great was the playing after. They should dry up when they play not with a hairdryer. But your pup is so cute! I miss when mine was little.. he’s still little. But not a year old. He’s 9 months.. it’s crazy how fast they grow.

These comments are way to harsh. I have a golden myself, and I know for a fact that they love as much attention they can get. If it’s to much, they’ll tell you by harshly whimpering. Yes, I know she did that when she was trying to get out, but first baths are always alarming to dogs. She doesn’t understand what’s going on yet and will eventually get used to baths.

But still she did whimper but she stopped, meaning she was calm. And they did throw water on her face and blowed the blowdryer but that doesnt mean its rude they tried their best! Puppies enjoy being teased and rough-house--watch videos of puppies in their earliest months. They wrestle and snarl and growl, and they love it. It shows them their place in their pack. If you are gentle with puppies ALL THE TIME, they become confused, I think, and may come to believe they aren't really a member of their pack, your family. And, this puppy was handled gently and lovingly, anyway.

Water should'nt be poured on the head especially for puppies as they are way more gentle than grown ups and sensitive. They are prone to get ill and washing the head may get them a cold. When my Golden was 3-4 months we gave him his first bath. He wasn’t a huge fan.. and neither is your pup. By the way, don’t put water or soap on the face. Never ever, should you let water in the ears or eyes or nose. You should do proper research before doing these things.. but the one thing you did great was the playing after. They should dry up when they play not with a hairdryer. But your pup is so cute! I miss when mine was little.. he’s still little. But not a year old. He’s 9 months.. it’s crazy how fast they grow.

These comments are way to harsh. I have a golden myself, and I know for a fact that they love as much attention they can get. If it’s to much, they’ll tell you by harshly whimpering. Yes, I know she did that when she was trying to get out, but first baths are always alarming to dogs. She doesn’t understand what’s going on yet and will eventually get used to baths.

Thank you for this comment! Thats true. First baths are always alarming to dogs. They are just puppys so they dont know whats gonna happen in the bath. But still she did whimper but she stopped, meaning she was calm. And they did throw water on her face and blowed the blowdryer but that doesnt mean its rude they tried their best! And maybe they are new to the dog but if they did use the blowdryer and water on her face, they meant no harm. And as you see after the bath the puppy was alright,she hurt or anything so pls people you may not understand but please dont be so harsh. :D

Puppies enjoy being teased and rough-house--watch videos of puppies in their earliest months. They wrestle and snarl and growl, and they love it. It shows them their place in their pack. If you are gentle with puppies ALL THE TIME, they become confused, I think, and may come to believe they aren't really a member of their pack, your family. And, this puppy was handled gently and lovingly, anyway.

Jim Porter the last dog I had didn’t care too much about rough housing he was very lazy and just liked eating but he always ran up to me and jumped me like he was part of the pack he also knew when it was time for a belly rub and how to open an unlocked porch gate he was much smarter than my other dog who actually liked to rough house

Why are you just dumping water on the puppy’s face? That’s not how you bathe a pet, especially not a puppy. You should use a cloth or a gentle shower head to rinse the puppy.

He's like a baby even though he's in water in the womb, when outside the womb and water touches them even in a bath it feels foreign, strange, that's why babies cry, and puppies whine but they get use to it.
Water should'nt be poured on the head especially for puppies as they are way more gentle than grown ups and sensitive. They are prone to get ill and washing the head may get them a cold.
