  • In 1984 Kate McGarrigle was recorded by WXXI at Red Creek in Rochester, NY. This is the only solo performance of the hour long taped concert by Kate and Anna. Maria Muldaur and Linda Ronstadt were featured guests throughout the show. A truly intimate, rare recording.

    Wow, how powerful,
    and Louden deserved it,
    what a schmuck.
Great gift by Kate left to music and humanity.

Kate, you will always be truthful, kind, and aware. You sang the song many women lived through.

True great poetry, when she says 'you said goodbye'. But then 'could it be that you are stalling... hearts have a way of calling
    when they've been true...'

How I loved them back when I was young, wandering around Europe with a cassette tape player and about 10 tapes. This was one of them.

No song has a lovelier middle-eight than this one, building to the gut-wrenching climax of "Here they come, here they come, here come my tear--ears."

Being a fan of Linda Ronstadt introduced me to Kate's music. What a beautiful body of work she has left for us to enjoy.
What a pure song with just Kate, her voice and a guitar. RIP dear lady.

OMWOrd! This is SO beautiful, but like a really big sock in the gut b/c of the pain of it! Very candid, and how did she not cry even, because I had to fight not to! What I love is that this woman is remaining very decent about the pain, not destroying with words. That takes courage and forgiveness. Thanks for post.

Beautiful, emotional song. Touches the heart in a very deep and special way. Hard to explain but it moves you. It strikes a nerve. some genuine heartfelt emotion that touches, inspires and stirs the human feelings. It makes me think twice before thinking the grass is greener on the other side. Look at what you've got, what your blessed with, before you casually throw it away for nothing. .
