The hardest part of trying to follow what you have done with your mods is finding similar pieces for the projects to what you have laying around. Sometimes I have to do a bit of hunting before I find something suitable. Perhaps you could mention where you got that material/item from so we would have an easier idea of where to start looking for similar items. However other than that your instructions make the project much easier.
Super! I've got one of those fuse boxes a while ago. I should kick my rear end to install it on the Case. It's currently a big tangled pile of wire and it's not properly fused. I mean, all on the same fuse. If ever the fuse blows, I think the tractor will simply shut down! Lol! I can clearly see how much time you put to edit this video, this is phenomenal! That new workshop is great for doing such work in a nice shaded and cool area, isn't it? Thanks for sharing Martin!

Martin I'm reviewing this older vid as I'm about to try to bring power to my L3901 ROPS. Trying to find a safe and efficient path to pipe 10 gauge wire power to the top of the ROPS has been challenging. I may just copy what you have done here. I have 6 switch rocker switch type panel that I'll mount to the underside of my canopy. I already have a forward light bar and then 6 more light pods mounted at 45, 90 and 180 degrees.
@@DIYMyWay well I want to keep the voltage drop to as little as possible. If the run is 25 feet, then I will see a 5% drop with that 10 gauge. I’m a big guy and trying to crawl under and around the tractor to route the cable has been a challenge.
Hi Martin, I recently decided to add led lights to my L2501 Kubota tractor. I purchased all the items you recommended and installed the led lights on my tractor canopy and ROPS, but when I started to wire everything up I couldn't figure out all the connections. I hooked up the red and black + and - connections to the battery, the yellow work light wire to the blue wire on the harness splicing the blue wire back into itself to continue the circuit. I mounted the switches the same way you did and ran wire to the led lights hooking the blacks to ground and red to red. I also mounted the same fuse box that you used near my factory fuse box and the relay near it although I had to use a different mounting method. I hooked all the ground wires to the relay mounting bolt and the red wires to the fuse box power screw. The only difference in my installation is that the side and rear lights are on one circuit and the front led is on another circuit. After connecting all the wires I installed the fuse into the in line fuse holder. I started the tractor and nothing works. Any ideas about what I did wrong? I'm stumped. There must be some connection that is wrong, but I can't figure it out. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I love your channel and have done many of your mods. Thanks, Steve Busch
Hi Steve! I’d start classic troubleshooting, starting with the master fuse in the harness. Is it good? Is there 12V at the end of it? Next, check the work light wire. Do you get 12V on it when you turn the key? If not, check the work light fuse. If yes, check the main relay. Does it click when 12V is applied? Do you get 12V on the output side going to the aux fuse box. You get the idea. Trace the power through until you find the failure point. So glad to know you enjoy my channel! Good luck!

Thank you, Edward! As I explain at the 6 minute mark in the video, I use the rear fender work light connection that most modern tractors have. They usually have a dedicated fuse so you can see where that fuse is on the factory fuse box and find the work light wire coming out the back of the fuse box. Also you can look at the work light connector under the rear fender and verify the color of the work light positive wire which will match the wire coming from the fuse box. I could have, but since the wiring harness provided a negative connection all the way to the battery, I used it. You can certainly connect it to anywhere on the frame if that’s convenient for you. Thanks for watching!

I think tinkering only on the red/pos+ post and after, as a second step, hooking black(-) to the frame reduces the chances of sparks near the battery. After a co-worker got acid from a battery explosion, I always use safety glasses when I work on a battery.
Okay, so today I finally got a chance to look at my system for adding additional lights and a fan. I have a 2022 Kioti CX2510 which as you would expect, is not configured as your kubota. However, I now have a bunch of parts I likely won’t use!🤣🤣 First challenge is, my fuse box is mounted to my firewall under the hood. I may be able to work with the hood still on, but I’m expecting not. We will see. More challenging is, I have to remove my loader! 😬 I guess I had to learn how sooner or later right?!?!🤣 The good news is, Kioti provides an auxiliary fuse panel as standard! So, I have 6 empty spare spots and, two switch blanks on the dashboard. I’m going to need to figure this out because presumably, I won’t need to tap into my work light wire? I’m still looking at a bar to which I’ll run my front spots, and then the rear spots. I have a fan socket already with the two usb panel that will take care of the fan. Part of the fun of being a compact tractor 🚜 owner!!😁
Great video! I'm looking for an answer to a question I have. I purchased a 1962 Minneapolis Moline and unfortunately the wiring burnt out during a battery replacement (my fault). But, since I had to replace all the wiring, I decided to replace all the old gauges and add two rocker switches for front lights, back up lights, and a warning beeper. My question, do I just run 30amp fuse wire to the box and out to the gauges (they are illuminated), light rockers, and back up beeper? What does the 60 do for the whole proces? Sorry, I'm a Network guy, not an electrician. Any answers help. Thank you!
Thanks! The 60A fuse, wiring harness and relay simply limits amount of amps to the fuse box to a maximum of 60A, which is more that enough for the accessories I plan to connect to it. Your gauge lights and back up beeper won’t take much power so it depends on the load of your LED lights whether 30A is enough. Good luck!
In theory, I guess you could have just left the work light connection in the original fuse block correct? and used your new fuse block for the 12v outlet and the sidelights or am I missing the reason why you pulled it out of the original block?
Yes, you can do that, but the new fuse box circuits would always be on regardless of the start switch position. The work light circuit is only on when the ignition switch is on so I use it to power the relay that energizes the aux fuse block circuits. That's the way I wanted it. Thanks for watching!
My relay plug has an extra, smaller diameter red wire coming from the location of the 14 ga red wire that connects to the positive battery terminal. Did I miss something in the video that shows where it goes?
So just to make sure I'm clear. The blue wire from your new fuse box might be labeled "acc" to connect to the key switch? Thus the reason you connected it to the yellow wire from the original fuse box So that all circuits from you new fuse box only work when the key switch is on? Thanks. I am blowing the 5 amp fuse on my Kubota B26 as soon as I start moving forward or back. It than will not restart without replacing fuse. I am not good with electricity, but I have checked all interlocks. Seems to have to do with neutral position on front/back pedal. Any suggestions?
Sorry to hear that, Michael! What does the manual say the 5 amp fuse is for? (Should be listed on the factory fusebox cover too.) Just guessing, I say you have a short in the seat sensor circuit because if you stand up while the tractor is moving forward or backward, the tractor is supposed to cut off.
DIY My Way .....the 5amp fuse is in the fuse box, controls OPC system circuit which includes PTO lever,HST petal, and seat switch. Seat switch seems to be ok. While moving if I lift off the seat, it will shut off motor. However, now the 5 amp fuse blows, and will not even engage starter until fuse is replaced.....then as soon as you start moving...it will blow again. We are checking the switch on foot lever for forward and reverse tomorrow.
You have the best how to videos on UA-cam( or at least the best that i have found ). Very detailed to where even a novice like myself could do this. Thanks for sharing

On the negativing wiring, are all the negative wires that are coming from the lights connected together and then straight to the common negative on the Aux fuse box? And are they bypassing the negative connections on the switches themselves?

In your video, you didn't show what you did with the other end of the yellow work light circuit wire after you cut into it at the fuse box. I assume that circuit was feeding other items on the tractor before you cut into it. Did you just abandon that yellow wire?

Why is the negative (-) black directly connected to the battery post? I was thinking of connecting to any metal part tied to the tractor frame...

DIY My Way .....the 5amp fuse is in the fuse box, controls OPC system circuit which includes PTO lever,HST petal, and seat switch. Seat switch seems to be ok. While moving if I lift off the seat, it will shut off motor. However, now the 5 amp fuse blows, and will not even engage starter until fuse is replaced.....then as soon as you start moving...it will blow again. We are checking the switch on foot lever for forward and reverse tomorrow.

Great video Martin!! Just got my new Kubota and Im planning out my project based on your design but I guess just needed a little more clarity. On the negativing wiring, are all the negative wires that are coming from the lights connected together and then straight to the common negative on the Aux fuse box? And are they bypassing the negative connections on the switches themselves?

Hi Martin, It looks like you only have one relay...is that correct? Are the switches wired directly between the fuse box and the work light(s) they are controlling?
Hi Darren! That’s right no relay between the switches and lights. The amperage of the lights is well below the rating of the switches so no need for relays. Thanks for watching!

In your video, you didn't show what you did with the other end of the yellow work light circuit wire after you cut into it at the fuse box. I assume that circuit was feeding other items on the tractor before you cut into it. Did you just abandon that yellow wire?
