I have used these once. It was definitely much easier. The video is informative, showing different pieces moved.
2:29 notice the position of the straps and the angle, as they actually connect beyond the opposite strap underneath the mattress moved by the two women.
2:05 the inventor explains the importance of the angle created by the straps, which cause objects to require 66 percent less force to lift..
0:11 you also get an example of moving a big screen t.v. downstairs, notice the straps are toward the center, and not simply around the edge of the t.v. the angle of the strap is important to reducing the force required to lift.
As for discomfort to the forearm, there may be some. In this case make sure the strap is closer to the elbow than to the wrist.
I would like to see more demonstrations of moving things downstairs, specifically a refrigerator.
