Changing Valve Cover Gasket on a 2011 Chevy Malibu

Very much so yes, We just enjoy tinkering and I have to know how everything works. Plus it is hard to find people you can trust these days to do work for you. If you do it yourself you know how the thing works and you can only blame you lol

Could a bad gasket be the cause of an oil leak? My 2010 Malibu ecotec is leaking oil from the top left next to all the pulleys and timing chain. It has oil in the crevices where the gasket seems to go

Yes it is the source of the leak. Very common

Did the oil leak on to the alternator belt? And was the valve cover gasket replacement the fix?

I do not recall now but it was from Autozone if memory serves correctly

No it was leaking oil into the spark plug wells
