Thank god you didn’t add music. This piece is not my usual style but I like it a lot. Intrigued by the construction as well. So simple but effective, and looks surprisingly amazing when finished. I am usually covering up plywood edges, this has me thinking differently; thanks.
I love the name! I am a Yorkshire born and trained Joiner living in the States for the past twenty years....I was also toying with this name for my business...just to get at the fans of Norm! Great work and and pleasure to see. Good luck with the future projects,I highly doubt you'll need it!
Amazing: imaginative and very useful! Please watch the H&S lapses though: I used to be a school woodwork teacher, so it is my conscience speaking! 1) Not setting guard on bandsaw to minimum bare blade above the job. 2) Fingers closer than 150 mm to bandsaw blade. Always use a push stick. Why risk a thumb? 3) Leaving machine running unattended. 4) Hand router cable management. All the best, keep up the brilliant work!
Its NEVER too late! And UA-cam is a superb place to get tuition - I've built my own guitars and furniture for nearly 40 years and enjoyed it so much, wish I could do it all again! :o)
It's so good to see that the next generation is taking it to other places. Nice, tasteful job there, with a lot of care taken to finish and solidity. You're on the right path there young man. Very enjoyable watching.
That Sir , is a beautiful piece of art , I love watching skilled craftsmen work , you must be busy and these videos are the best advert for your business , fabulous
You said all that was needed to be said, and you picked the perfect background music to comliment the video too. Excellent video, and such a beautiful hifi unit 😀👍
A very inspirational build. Great to see a build without the use of a CNC router or a lot of welding appearing half way through the build ! At least gives some of us lesser mortals some ideas. Your well worthy of my subscription. Thks.
1: Watched video. 2: Realised that my gob was open during most of it. 3: Came away feeling inspired. 4: Hit that 'like' button. 5: Hit that 'subscribe' button. 6: Realised that my gob was still open. 7: Posted comment. 8: Buggering off to watch more videos 👍
This^^. It's one less step for a youtuber anyways! And you'll never run into copyright issues 😎 Once again, thanks for not forcing music onto your watchers. Your skills are more than entertaining 😀
is there a group of superhero furniture makers out there just i have just now stumbled upon? this is a piece that has me wondering what i the world i'm doing. i either need to start working harder, or sell my tools and take up paint by numbers. this is beautiful. bravo sir.
Great piece of furniture and I love to see the combination of plywood and hardwood. Just one comment. Using compressed air to blow off the sanding dust will only redistribute the dust around the workshop and indeed the very finest particles will stay in suspension in the air. At least vacuum off the majority of dust before doing this. ( Maybe you did and we didn't see it ?). Keep posting.
I have never seen such a delightful unit as this one. Your work looks so flawless & is a tribute to your skills, concentration & pursuit of excellence. Your work is so eyewatering & mouth watering to look at. Perhaps there is something special about Yorkshire because my wife of 58 years comes from Yorkshire. Don from South Aust.
STUNNING! 28 minutes of Zen meditation. I was transfixed. Master craftsmanship at its best. A pleasure to watch, thank you. All the best, Rob in Switzerland
Your perfectionist approach, attention to tiny details and standard of craftsmanship are inspiring. Stunning! Also, no annoying 'expert voice-over'...thanks for that. Nice clean workshop, too. Glad I stumbled onto your site! Warm Greetings from Australia.
Wonderful video, made excellent by lack of pointless dialogue and unnecessary explanations. You balanced the video of your work with succinct sub titles perfectly. Camera work excellent. Very envious of your skill, workshop and tools.
We are really blessed to have young people like you to carry on wood working into the future. My Grand Father was the third generation wood worker and his son. my Uncle, was the 4th generation. I make small wood projects but am not as talented as they were.
Awesome! Great looking unit, something that will last for years and years. Also like the video style, no music, no nonsense just well filmed. Nice job!
Lovely job dude. I watched your oak door video too. Subscribed. I'm in Manchester. Full time sick now, can't get into the shop after 40 years in the trade. I enjoy watching quality woodworking on YT. Thanks for the entertainment.
Lovely piece. I don’t care abut it music at all; however, I very much prefer narrated videos. I’m not keen on having to catch the subtitles. I also like hearing more than procedural notes. I really enjoy hearing other woodworkers talk about their work, their procedure, and their opinions. Enjoyed watching you work.
I love the work you do. Also I love the fact that You just show everything without some silly comments & stupid pause's like some other people put in their vids. Awesome. Keep it up Man.
Nice! Come up same technique with plywood around 5 years ago, just made towers from 75x40x18mm peaces and then just mitered the corners as frame, did all kind of material removal inside to insert 10mm thick glass, then realized it was bit weak, so routed slot on under side to fit with some construction glue steel frame inside with connection points for legs, topping it off with plywood, finished surface semi successfully with mixing acetone and color coding paste from mixing machine (with out base paint or lacker just the water based paste) that dried almost immediately, then scotchbrighter surface and put on several coats of urethane based lacquer thinned a bit to soak deep into plywood. With this i got rather nice surface. First attempt of using vinegar and iron wool failed gloriously due first it containing too much moisture that caused cracking and attempt on boiling the water away caused it to oxidize almost instantly, but if you are looking rust color that is the way btw! Inside i put infinity mirror and on the center island 22inc monitor running rasberry pi and home theater OS to play visualizations. The table leg is old V8 engine block as pistons on legs and of course RGB lighting inside the block. Party coffee table at its finest one could say. Maybe i'l do video of it someday, still have couple minor things to do, its been on the back burner for a while.
That's like Frank Lloyd Wright $hit. Going back in time to be ahead of your time. Graceful and timeless. Engineering, Simplicity and Beauty all in one. Cheers!
I laughed when I read "hi-fi," I don't think I've seen that used in 30 years. I like how you point out something like the brush being too soft, then continue using it because you make do with what you have.
Pardon the pun but you got your shit nailed down bro. Your content is super easy and enjoyable to watch. No music banging on or over editing that makes it look like a stop motion.
I have to confess that, as a hobbyist guitar maker, I cringed seeing this beautiful piece of solid quarter saw tone wood being cut in small pieces and mixed with plywood. But the final result is amazing, very classy! Congratulations!
It’s beautiful! You’re quite a craftsman. Be sure to wear an N95 mask and or respirator when working with wood. Woodworkers have a very high incidence of lung cancer. I lost a good friend that made walnut furniture to lung cancer. He never smoked or was ever around cigarette smoke. It was the fine sawdust particles that ended up in his lungs. Those of that love your work would like to see many more years of it. Take care.
Fantastic work, I have just finished a HiFi cabinet and was quite pleased, after seeing this mine looks more like a pile of pallets thrown of the back of lorry.
Sure! They use them on baked goods, like pound or cheesecake, and even for cutting fruit. I’d be careful about how I'd do the fixturing when cutting plywood, as you could get swelling if not done correctly, but otherwise, it's perfectly acceptable, fast, and super accurate.
I had to watch this video again because I am deeply inspired by your work and your creative mind. Absolutely stunning unit indeed. Woodwork has always been a favourite hobby of mine although I’m not the greatest but when I look at the other videos, I’m physically speechless at what I see at the end of the video. Magnificent job Russ 😉
I’m new to your channel so I’m lucky to be binging on your old videos. I absolutely love your videos and please keep them coming, looking forward to the next one ps the quality of the finish you achieve on your pieces is stunning.
I dont`know what is more beautiful here, shape, bocota or plywood layers. Great unit! And tnx to UA-cam algoritms to bump me this video in sugestions, certeanly will check chanel for more great projects!
It's a beautiful piece, but there's absolutely nothing Art Deco about it. It's a masterful representation of mid-century modern, a good 3 decades post Art Deco.
Truly a work of art great work mate absolutely beautiful....shows it’s not the materials that matters it’s the design and execution of it that makes the difference..of all of those expensive beautiful timber is good but cheap timber and knowing how to make them into a beautiful piece of furniture is just as good...love your work and skills mate well done ....addicted to your channel now
Aw, damn, I wanted to argue about there being ABSOLUTELY nothing Art Deco about that table. But I see your comment is a year old. Oh well. Next time maybe.
I´m so in love with your work, there is some much passion, effort, love, skills, knowledge, patience behind those hands. I absolutely love that turntable BTW, God bless you bro!
Well that is absolutely amazing what a wonderful unique way to make furniture!! They serve some really beautiful pieces of me thank you so much for sharing. Keep up the great work!!
Thank god you didn’t add music. This piece is not my usual style but I like it a lot. Intrigued by the construction as well. So simple but effective, and looks surprisingly amazing when finished. I am usually covering up plywood edges, this has me thinking differently; thanks.
The best part is.. it only took 28 minutes to make.. Beautiful craftsmanship!
lol!
yeah, really fast lol
Hahaha
I love the name!
I am a Yorkshire born and trained Joiner living in the States for the past twenty years....I was also toying with this name for my business...just to get at the fans of Norm!
Great work and and pleasure to see.
Good luck with the future projects,I highly doubt you'll need it!
This guy is totally amazing carpenter and a master builder well done 👏
Amazing: imaginative and very useful! It’s guys like you that make me wish I’d cared about woodwork classes at school 😩👏
You had woodwork classes? Lucky.
I only have design and manufacture.
Its NEVER too late! And UA-cam is a superb place to get tuition - I've built my own guitars and furniture for nearly 40 years and enjoyed it so much, wish I could do it all again! :o)

Woodworking ... 50% woodworking, 50% cleaning up after yourself....Love the design of the unit.
Watching this complex joinery, assembly, and polishing, and final quality has given me the incentive to hang that mdf shelf.
That Sir , is a beautiful piece of art , I love watching skilled craftsmen work , you must be busy and these videos are the best advert for your business , fabulous

Great concept. Artful use of belt sander. Excellent piece. Thanks!
What an excellent, exquisite piece of furniture this is...
Its all art work with passion , perfection , beyond the functionality of furniture , great art work
Thank you for not having some annoying music on.
I have to agree, sometimes silence is golden :P
Yes. The noise of tools and machinery is enough. The sounds of thought ,concentration and work.
Right? I really enjoy listening to my own selection of music while still hearing saws and routers and sanders and stuff.
This^^.
It's one less step for a youtuber anyways!
And you'll never run into copyright issues 😎
Once again, thanks for not forcing music onto your watchers. Your skills are more than entertaining 😀
x2

Work harder, longer and you might clear a pittance!

Is there anything you are not skilled in doing? I’m awed by your talent and vision.
When exquisite quality speaks, everything else is silent.
I love this guy. Welding in a wood shop with sawdust all over the place. This is a dying skill that will greatly be missed!!
Your perfectionist approach, attention to tiny details and standard of craftsmanship are inspiring. Stunning!
Also, no annoying 'expert voice-over'...thanks for that. Nice clean workshop, too. Glad I stumbled onto your site!

I like your custom rounded sander. The hi-fi unit absolutely turns my head.
Lovely piece. I don’t care abut it music at all; however, I very much prefer narrated videos. I’m not keen on having to catch the subtitles. I also like hearing more than procedural notes. I really enjoy hearing other woodworkers talk about their work, their procedure, and their opinions. Enjoyed watching you work.
thanks for persevering, hopefuly it is worth it!
those are some beautiful pieces, i really find comfort and peace in watching a true craftsman at work

Vraiment beau travail, simple et magnifique. Bravo 👏
You create beautiful artwork. I can't think of another description for them. Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely fabulous piece of craftmanship, would not see that in Ikea. Love the amount of care and patience you take in your work.
IKEA is all about affordable furniture for the masses, with decent quality. Why would you find expensive custom pieces there?
I love to see you make art deco inspired hifi furniture.
No....
It's an awesome piece, but there's not a single hint of Art Deco there.
Beautiful craftsmanship. Thanks for letting us see you at work
BEAUTIFUL piece, love it, and the contrasting wood is special, really brings out its beauty.
Fantastic work, I have just finished a HiFi cabinet and was quite pleased, after seeing this mine looks more like a pile of pallets thrown of the back of lorry.
nowt wrong with rustic furniture, important thing is you made with your own hands!
2:00 perfect application for a high pressure water jet cutter.
6:40 love the "router-eye view" of the work.
Beautiful work!
Steve Johnson ??? On wood??
Sure! They use them on baked goods, like pound or cheesecake, and even for cutting fruit. I’d be careful about how I'd do the fixturing when cutting plywood, as you could get swelling if not done correctly, but otherwise, it's perfectly acceptable, fast, and super accurate.
A stunning piece of modern furniture, I expect your client was over the moon!!!

Goshhh!!! Absolutely perfect.👏👏👏👏👍
WHAT A GREAT JOB MAN. IT IS FANTASTIC. PLEASE CONTINUE TO POST YOUR CREATIONS
Amazing to think that it was less than 2 years ago you were celebrating 100 subs, now you are closing on 100,000! Well done...
It's beautiful! Looks like a mix of Scandinavian design and Art Deco.
It's a beautiful piece, but there's absolutely nothing Art Deco about it. It's a masterful representation of mid-century modern, a good 3 decades post Art Deco.
I just love your work and admire you so much.
Craftsmanship - it has to be perfect!!!
Outstanding workmanship.
I've done some amateur guitar builds & some furniture as well. I've learnt a lot from Your vids. Thank You.
Gorgeous work! I envy your skill!
Thanks for the video! Watching it from sunny South Africa 🇿🇦😎
Well conceived and superbly executed.
Incredible and unique looking TV stand, love it!
This is a design tour de force where the plys become a focal point, very well done.
Truly a work of art great work mate absolutely beautiful....shows it’s not the materials that matters it’s the design and execution of it that makes the difference..of all of those expensive beautiful timber is good but cheap timber and knowing how to make them into a beautiful piece of furniture is just as good...love your work and skills mate well done ....addicted to your channel now
Even plywood can be made to look stunning. Absolutely beautiful work. Superb video mate
YOU ARE A REAL CRAFTSMAN !!!
Great skill & craftsmanship/ artisan, they’re very contemporary, beautiful units. I love wood.
Beautiful! It has a retro, almost art deco feel to it in the sleek, fluid lines. Definitely would be a standout, focal piece in any home!
Aw, damn, I wanted to argue about there being ABSOLUTELY nothing Art Deco about that table. But I see your comment is a year old. Oh well. Next time maybe.
Excellent use of plywood, The plys add a special flavor I love it gonna try one for myself. Good video coverage
Complimenti Maestro. Un vero capo lavoro!!
I´m so in love with your work, there is some much passion, effort, love, skills, knowledge, patience behind those hands. I absolutely love that turntable BTW, God bless you bro!
Love this channel. Craftmanship at its best.
Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship and art!

I must admit 28:08 was my favorite, but the Bocote really is stunning.
Beautiful work. And thanks for the sharing the excellent quality video.
