Here's a frightening thought for you Bluz... I'm your first, lol. Never ceases to amaze me the amount of people who dont even carry basic spares for their engine. I lost count back in the 80's as to how many times I had to motor off to someone and loan them a plug spanner because they didnt even carry that. Sure, I screwed up in the past and left home without a kit of some kind, but I dont think I did it more than once. Yes, I eventually broke down and something other than what I was carrying was needed a few times, but as you well know, there is only so much you carry with you. Great video, thanks mate.
Hey Andy ! Yep. I've been towed and also towed others in myself. I carry much more than I showed....but the video would have been too long. I fish 200+ miles from home...so breakdowns aren't an option. Glad to see you're up early....or late...lol ! Thanks for dropping by, mate !
Haha ! I figured out which part I had in the bag. It was the little piece in the lower unit I had to replace once. Common failure part on that lower unit if you hit something with the prop....even slightly. It was hard to find, so I bought two.
Some good tips on saving your fishing trip. I have had a spun hub so I carried an old extra prop just in case. Once I lost my prop, nut and washer. I guess the cotter pin broke off and the nut worked its way off. I hit a stump and looked at my prop to see nothing there. LOL
And you just reminded me what that little part was in the bag ! It was the little part inside the lower unit that gets dinged when you hit something with your prop. Common failure part on this engine. I bought two because it was hard to find. Thanks !
A lot of good ideas here Bluz!! ....you forgot an extra beer koozie!! Me...I just make sure I go on your boat or Slayer John's boat and I know it's all gonna be ok!! The info written on the box is priceless...excellent idea! Nice couch lights too bud!! Good to see you and Flounder girl!! Take care!!
That's in Deb's survival box. Yeah....I bought the lights on a whim at walmart. ( I NEVER go to walmart....but had to, for engine oil) 'Appreciate you stopping by, buddy.
Great educational video. Be prepared for all situations you can handle without help. I also carry an extra prop and hub in case you spin the prop. Tight lines
Let others know WHICH Items YOU carry on your boat. Then WATCH this NEXT : ua-cam.com/video/nJoV6ohJmkg/v-deo.html
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who carries a boat emergency box that floats !!!

An emergency kit is a must. Thanks for sharing. The lug nut socket and spark plug wrench are so important.
Sorry to hear the news. Prayers for the family at this time!
I thought I had all my tools I needed. Now I got some more to add, thanks.
