Honestly it is an unhealthy relationship, for a mother to be so dependent on her son. You literally cannot get married to someone like that, because the mother controls them. He might be living in her house, but I guarantee you she lords that over him, while also depending on his help with errands. I know this from personal experience, as my brother is currently single for this very reason.
Well...you can have many girlfriends but you only have ONE mother in your lifetime. If I were you, I would spend less time judging him and more time helping him to take of your mother.
Not to mention that every time he got paid, she expected money from him although we never borrowed a dime from her nor did we live off of her or in her house. We had our own place. But he always gave into her. Even if it meant we had to struggle for a few days, before the next pay day.
It also wasn't for necessities either. She always spent it on stuff she didn't need. I didnt mind helping with groceries and stuff that his parents needed but she didn't spend the money on that. A lot of times she would spend all of their bill money on stuff they didn't need and then instantly expect us to pay their bills. She would spend all of their bill money, BEFORE she would even confirm that we were gonna help her or that we could help her with the bills, just because she automatically knew that her son wouldn't tell her 'no' or let them do without. Smh
My ex gf had a toxic and co-dependent relationship with her mom, who she lived with. She was fairly normal but her mum was a master manipulator and very abusive to her. It ended up being one of the main reasons we didn't work out after 3 years unfortunately.

Then, once they get to the US, if you don't get married in 90 days their visa expires. If you do get married, they can get conditional residency. After like 5 years, they can then apply for legal residency, which gives them 10 years. Then, they can apply for citizenship.
So, it takes around a decade and a few thousand dollars. Also, the first year or so they are here they can't work legally, cause of applying and waiting for a work permit.
