You are right and they do that Dance a lot at airports like when certain politicans came to visit Samoa they did a whole presentation for them at the airport not sure exactly who it was but I looked it up it’s really sweet!
NO! NO! NO! Many people say I am sick in the head. NOOOO!!!! I don't believe them. But there are so many people commenting this stuff on my videos, that I have 1% doubt. So I have to ask you right now: Do you think I am sick in the head? Thanks for helping, my dear pk
He's from another universe basically. First world problems don't bother a person froma third world country. Guy is having the time of his life. Regardless of age, I'm sure an older man (no later than mid 30s) from Samoan would act the same. Guy has spirit & heart. He'll def make it in America once he nails the language down.
Its because shes like u said..a bitch..lol..a rude one that picks a young guy and expects him to NOT act young. Ppl like that have me thinking if u want a mature man DONT pick someone almost 10 years younger than u😬
just for everyone who doesnt know, him "stalking her" is actually part of the culture in polynesia, specifically in samoa. it is part of a courting tradition that men will follow women they are interested in from afar to see if she meets his taste and then go meet the woman's family and pay respect to them before actually asking the woman out. for us, it is very normal since polynesia is very safe and the men are often watching out for our safety during this "stalking" but it can be very intimidating for foreigners due to the connotations in other countries, especially since islanders are often quite big.
@@BlahBlahBlah-rf2so it is not as common these days but since generally, in most villages, a man and woman interested in each other must always be accompanied by family before they get married, ive still seen and heard of this often but to different extents.
@@aekiap I've heard of guys going over to see the girl's parents/family with gifts to ask for their blessing to date the girl, just not the "stalking" term of it haha. That's cool to know 😊
Asuelu is a freaking legend. People underestimate how hard it is to adapt to such a radically different culture, and he is 100% willing to do so if that means being there for his new family. The love in this man is honestly beautiful. Cultural exchange takes patience and give and take on both sides.
first and foremost just require that open mind. He shows it and she is just BLANK to his culture. 'he native boy that was fun to do it with on vacation'. not someone with a deep culture and a deep meaning to that dance, the primal scream initially, etc.
If you can’t be grateful that a guy would take his shirt off in the middle of a airport and do a traditional dance for your love you don’t deserve him …
I soo agree...and the way she's treating him so far..especially with not even having the patience to explain to him as a loving partner about the car seat and instead acting like an angry jerk is flagging me that she doesn't deserve him. She's treating him like a kid and not her equal.😬
Just an FYI, the dance he did at the airport is known as the Siva Samoan (similar to the Maori Haka). It is a traditional ceremonial Maori/Samoan dance usually performed in a group, typically representing a display of a tribe's pride, strength and unity. So by him performing Siva at the airport he is showing his dedication to her and their family of 3. It is incredibly special that he performed such a ceremonial dance on his own in front of so many. It truly shows the amount of love, devotion and happiness he was overcome with when he arrived 🥰🥰
Yeah but she was more concerned about what others would think at the airport. Shout out to that lady who was ready to snatch him up, a real appreciator.
I came here to say exactly this- thank you for helping educate people about this tremendous act of excitement, love, and tradition on his part. I can also see her side of things- our culture is such that these types of displays are something we often frown on in public. That being said, if you truly love someone from a different culture, study up on their culture and history. Not only is it fascinating, but I feel if she'd done so, she'd have had a much greater understanding of and appreciation for his intentions and actions. 💙
Do women do this, too, and if this was performed for me, how should I react, or not react? While watching her reaction I thought I'd join in dancing and just try to do what he does but I don't know if it is disrespectful, too.
@@0Onyx13 99.9% sure the baby is biologically his. One of the first things she says about their relationship is that they banged in Samoa even though she's Mormon. I suppose there's a CHANCE it isn't his kid, but it seems pretty clear that the kid is his.

Asu doing the haka for Kalani was so much better than the cringe fest that was watching Julia and Brandon kissing infront of his parents at the airport for like half an hour😂😂😂
He was young but so sweet. She was always so mean to him. Traditions are different! Can’t fully expect a guy that grew up in a culture where woman only took care of babies to automatically help with the baby. People on the show never research their significant others cultures properly then get upset!
Her dad is Samoan and she’s been to the island many times, I think she knows the culture. People tend to forget that reality shows are scripted and edited for maximum drama.
@@FireGriffon If you watched the show, her dad is clearly a white worshiping self hating Samoan who has a disdain for his own culture and people. I doubt he taught her anything about her Samoan culture and heritage. He raised her as a basic white girl
The way she acted when he did his traditional dance kinda irritated me. I'm from New Zealand and it is a tradition to perform when someone leaves, or arrives from the airport. But he was the guest and was the one who performed, which is way more respectful in my book. ALSO I know it's for both of them a culture shock, but the lady at least has to understand he's the one in a country and will be more on edge of he gets something wrong. He looks so uncomfortable sometimes and she doesn't seem like she cares
The way she yelled at him really put me the wrong way and shouldn’t she have realized he is from a completely different culture and doesn’t understand it’s extremely dangerous too hold a child while driving.
@@Ladyscarface Clearly they Aren't? Countries have many different cultures in different regions and they Clearly weren't in the same lifestyle maybe instead of watching the show u should use your brain and infer the obvious
@@Ladyscarface Kalani’s father is originally from Samoa. Kalani and her sister grew up in the States so they are “americanized”, so to speak. Based on the way her father speaks about Samoa and his upbringing, it seems like the father almost tried to erase/ignore their Samoan heritage. It’s actually fairly common for the second generation to lose touch with their heritage so even if she might have Samoan blood in her veins, she did not grow up with the Samoan culture.
She's really not helpful. A relationship is where you communicate and she just gave him the baby to see if he knew what to do. He said himself the woman look after the children so it's new for him, but she still expected him to be a pro from the beginning. She should think to herself that he isn't use to handling kids and that she should teach him instead of whining that she has to do everything.

She referred to her son as my son not only because she was doing all the work alone for a long time and the fact that even when he was in he left her to take care of the kids but also because she was stressed with her relationship with him and that his *her son*
She comes off as so extraordinarily unlikable. Being embarrassed by his dance was maybe understandable because of the cultural difference, but the way she was just looking away and making faces the whole time and then complained about it afterwards (not to mention her hilariously bad handling of the situation in the car) made her come off like a complete jerk who is completely oblivious to the fact that other cultures exist.
Speaking from experience as being an younger guy who has dated older women, women of a certain age get set in their ways and have a hard time letting change in especially when those thoughts and opinions come from someone younger. Also, how are you gonna get pregnant from a guy 7 years younger in a different country, and completely different culture, and expect him to know how to be a perfect doting father right outta the gate? Cmon man be smarter than that.

IT WAS SO SWEET. i get it's public and could be a bit embarrassing, but goodness she looked like she wanted to punt him into he crowd of watchers.
She comes off like an unappreciative angry jerk. If She doesnt have enough sense to explain to the man that she supposedly loves who has no experience with a baby in a patient manner, and just freaks out, i dont see how this relationship is gonna work. If she gets embarrassed by a dance, she's going to have a rude awakening when her kid gets a little older and starts doing all kinds of crazy things in public for attention! As a mom you just gotta laugh and move on! She definitely should've shown some appreciation for his dance. Her reaction was extremely rude, smirking and rolling her eyes. Whatta B!
@savvy Wilson Her dad is from Samoa and she visited the island multiple times, so I think she knows at least a bit about the culture since it’s her heritage as well. I think she was just embarrassed and people judge her too hard, some of us are very uncomfortable with public displays, even thou I think she went overboard with those facial expressions.
In a relationship they’re toxic but as separate people they have their moments of being people I could see myself hanging out with, I think they would’ve been better as just casual friends.
I say the problem is that most modern women are rather demanding, they want the literal definition of a perfect man but don't recognize their own imperfections (same thing in reverse, man with flaws wants a perfect girl and etc). And honestly, with most being foreigners you can't expect them to behave like you want them to, they just come from places that are different in terms in behavior (luckily Polynesians are very simple and nice people)
I’d be flattered if a guy did a crazy dance at the airport like this for me. I can’t imagine my husband doing this. Never mind. He wouldn’t. She seems to make a habit of discarding men like they don’t matter. A little cold in my opinion. If she brings him to a new country to be with him, it’s her responsibility to show him the ropes. Pretty sure he’d do it for her. Shame he’s going to get his heart broken and probably lose his son in the process.
I mean, honestly I understand why she got mad but it was all a misunderstanding. She expected him to know things that he doesn't cause of his culture so he's not to blame
She for sure needs to explain certain things to him as far as culture goes, and the differences of the two..but honestly they both need to be communicating with each other about CULTURAL DIFFERENCES. He's in a completely new place, obviously he's not going to know about certain things...so they both need to talk about it.
I feel like he is telling her things about his culture like when she got mad at him he explained he didn't know bc having babies in a car seat isn't normal in Samoa. I think it's her that really needs to listen to him and explain things before getting so mad
.... I mean there were some parts of that dance that definitely did not look traditional but apparently all you gotta do is make a claim and it's taken as the gospel truth.....
I mean its an attentions gathering act done in public with many people around. It’s understandable to feel awkward with all the attention on you. I’m guessing that she might have thought of the dance as very sweet if he did it for her in private. But honestly, the fact that he did the dance openly in public makes it 10x more funny and 10x more memorable. I wouldn’t be mad at someone dancing for me like that as he did
I love how he didn’t feel embarrassed or anything when dancing at the airport, I can imagine him doing that in Samoa while watchers start dancing and singing with him
He was scraping coconuts and singing about love (alofa). Also holy cow I actually know the exact store he bought that shirt from in Apia, he’s a fancy lad haha... also also he was singing happy birthday in Samoan, and the “cheee hoooo” is a classic Samoan expression of joy for dudes. So much love for this, thanks down for showing it!
I hate how angry she is. He's being extremely open to her way of life and is still learning the language! Can't expect him to know what to do. He's never lived in this country.
I totally understand her freaking out, but after things are calmer, have a conversation about why that wasn't okay. It's new to him and he was trying to calm the baby down. It makes sense that he would think to pick up the baby when he's crying when he doesn't know about carseat rules.
You shouldn't understand her freaking out though, considering how incredibly reckless she was driving. It's illegal in my country to eat and drive at the same time in the first place, and I think they were on the highway, and she wasn't wearing a seatbelt, and her first instinct was "the baby isn't safe, but if I hold on to the wheel with both hands I'll have to clean it later, and I was saving this cheeto dust for a snack" If she thinks he needs lessons on how not to kill a baby, she might want to brush up on a few things, is all I'm saying.
@@Kelarys "Understand" and "agree with" (let alone "support") are different. I understand her reaction but I do not agree that she should've acted like that.
@@Flurrystorm I suppose I understand her too. It's ok for HER to recklessly endanger her child, but not for anyone else. I'm just saying, if she actually cared she would be driving safer, and realizing that if she crashed the car then best case scenario is he's now a single father raising the child alone, back in Samoa probably where the baby would never sit in a baby seat again lol
Honestly the fact that the random woman said "if it doesn't work out let me know" Bruh. You go to her right now lol. Go to the people that embrace your shenanigans lol

She basically screamed at him and then did EXACTLY what he was already doing cuddling the child. The only difference is the car isn't moving. So what did she expect him to do about the crying?
She could have just stopped the car and talked to him like normal ppl instead of shouting cuz he was doing the right thing by taking care of the baby he just didn't know it was dangerous to take him out of the seat, so maybe instead of shouting she could have told him and make him understand the risk. These people never stop to take five freaking minutes and learn about each other's countries, cultures, laws, and traditions. So, so, so many of the 'problems' each of these couples encounter could be solved or even avoided entirely by just taking a minute to LEARN. It also seems like they all have communication issues. Not language based, but actual talking to each other, checking in emotionally, helping explain new experiences or situations, etc. It's like they don't understand that being in a new relationship AND new surroundings is complex, and being a little attentive towards each other can relieve a huge portion of the stress and unease that comes with these life changes.

Lol the point is that the car wasn’t moving
@@plzleavemealone9660 I'm saying if the baby only stopped when it was being held, then the dude can't win because he's not allowed to hold the baby. If they swapped places and he was driving, she could of had the same problem.
I feel like there's a certain logical mental disparancy between a 23 guy and a 30 year old woman...
I don’t think it’s a difference on age, but a difference in culture, and environment
@@platinumsellingbitch. In some areas, definitely. i'm thinking more about how women mature faster *and* how much older she already is compared to him. Sure, he may not have gone through as much on his own as she might have already done, maybe because of cultural differences in raising kids, if Samoa enjoys the tribal thing of living together as generations, and thus he may not have had to do much of the "hard" stuff on his own. He also seems like a genuinely free spirit, which leads me to believe, when seeing her for just a few minutes, that this relationship could get rocky fast. Not meaning to throw shade at either one, just saying it might get interesteing in the next vids.
Indeed.
@@TheREALSimagination yeah you’re right
Right..if ya gonna date a younger man at all, ya need to take into consideration that he most likely isn’t going to match your maturity level at first. It’s as simple as a lil communication though, she just seems to want to “train” this guy. 🤦🏼♀️ She ain’t even very mature anyway though..screaming and degrading him instead of trying to teach him what’s okay and what isn’t, NOT cool.
The dance he does is called a hoka Which is usually done to express a feeling whether it be love happiness or hatred hoka symbolizes the feel they are expressing themselves.
Would it not be more appropriate to call it Siva Samoa? I thought Haka was only done in Māori culture.
My wife is pregnant around the same time as Mary (26 weeks) . Every time we watch your videos and the baby can hear Buff, she starts kicking like crazy. Dunno if she likes him or hates him tho😂 cheers😜 Buff has some explaining to do😂
lol
Babies can hear deeper voices better so maybe she can hear Buff well or your wife watches a lot of Ken and Buff😂
Now you can totally play her ken and buff videos to calm her down once she's born!
Maybe Buff's laugh is such a thundering roar that it's vibrations invigorate your baby with pure strength. Congrats on the pregnancy!
XD mine did similar things... now when out, they sometimes get quieter when watching the vids that used to cause them to kick about lol.
So instead of constant baby shark and cocomelon, maybe you'll be lucky and get to play some Buff vids and they'll quiet down a bit to watch ... and at least distract them from whatever caused the tears lol.
Grats on the kid on the way !!
:( he is the cutest and just wanted her to be proud of him and she's too busy being embarrassed... Idk. He gets teddy bear points for that one.
He seems like such a sweet guy. If you REALLY love someone, their quirks and eccentricities wouldn’t embarrass you. My ex-husband was always embarrassed by me. My boyfriend now, we celebrate our oddities. We do whatever we want in public and we never care who sees. This lady needs to get over herself.
Just fyi. What he did was the ''haka''. It's a very respected and traditional dance in some cultures, often used to welcome and pay respect to ppl.
Thanks my guy for letting everyone know! I was about to write a comment myself! She should be flattered! I would be honored to have someone perform the Haka dedicated to me 🤤🥰🥰
It's a shame she didn't know about his culture to appreciate what he was doing, instead of just feeling embarrassed and being annoyed. Learn your s.o's culture if you're serious about them. Smh. What a waste of his performance
@@ScarletRain26 it is also her own culture which makes it even more disturbing
Umm since when? A haka was first used by island people before battle as a psychological weapon to scare off enemies... in modern times a Hakan is used to scare enemy's in competition like sports "like the all blacks sports team" it was a war cry not a welcoming cry
@@xxlcountryguy83 no, ive seen a lot of people doing in funerals to pay respect, or in marriages to show love and respect...

I feel like people of two different cultures shouldn’t commit to each other until they can completely understand one another and build respect for their different behaviors. I think they needed time for her to adjust but of course, things were rushed because of their baby.
Any difference of culture is likely to cause problems. Heck, me and my fiance are just from different parts of the US and we’ve argued before about what different things are called XD he says tractor trailer, I say semi-truck. He says cart, I say buggie. He says bureau, I say night stand. The list goes on and on. Or things like manners, he’s from Delaware and some of his table manners are appalling to me, being from Georgia. Him and his momma just casually cuss while talking to each other. If I cussed in front of my momma, ever? You wouldn’t be able to find my body, lol.
Kalanis father is from samoa
They're from the same culture. She's samoan as well.
@@calmcuke6865 then why is she such a bitch about the way he acts? Plus didn’t she say she’s a Mormon or something during the video?
Just because she’s of Samoan descent doesn’t mean she’s part of the culture, my dude. She’s definitely not part of his culture.
To the above not getting it... They share in ethnicity not culture. Her exposure to Samoan culture is likely very limited
"If this is your first or your fifth video." i'm just here like "na bro, we at least in triple digits by now."
As soon as he said: "It's a coconut"
He passed my vibe check
I couldn't stand khalani when I watched this on TV. Everything was life or death drama with her. He literally hasn't taken care of a child yet, and its used to our way of doing things and she expects him to just intrinsically understand everything like girllll stop
I don’t think that couple is that happy as time went on 🤣🤣
Yeah let's not spoil the surprise for them 😌 hahaha
So true lmao
But he seemed like such a nice guy. 😭 I'm scared for him because I don't want him to get taken advantage of. Sure it's a difference in culture, and the dancing I might get embarrassed and shocked, but treat him nicely. 😭 I would be open to learn the culture.
Lollll just you wait! Obviously 90 day fiancé and cinnamontoastken fans don’t really overlap much because I know ALL about them
She’s of Samoan decent as well, I think she knows at least something about the culture.
@@Carlyjuanita spoiler alert.. asuelo is a cheater
“I’m in black out rage mode, give me that baby.”
Ah yes, babies. Nature’s stress ball.
She reminds me of the kardashians, even the way she talks sounds so scripted and emotionless like them. She definitely needs to be with someone older, you can’t get with someone that has no experience with American culture and is still treated like a child back home and expect them to be at your pace. I feel like there is a power dynamic and it isn’t comfortable to watch.
So why did you watch the whole TV show you mad man? xD
@@hidesan7794 I only watched the first season of her season and clips because there are multiple different storylines in one episode not just hers so I would skip through her parts. I’m not really sure what your question is because the show is not entirely about her there are several different stories being told that I liked to see.
@@alainalee890 yes girl! Ive been saying this..she picked a 20 year old and wanted him to be grown while not knowing his culture? Nah..not happening. It's a not a haka bro. Wrong island. The haka is from New Zealand
It's not a haka smh.
@@calebwiegner4354 No. the Haka is NZ. This is probably a Siva Samoa or something.
The haka is more widespread than just New Zealand. Yes it is a Maori ceremonial dance but it is also popular across many Samoan and The Cook Islands. It's not just a war dance my guy. The Haka is usually performed in a group and is a display of a tribe's pride, strength and unity. They are used to show respect and welcoming as well

You don't understand the laws of grammar and sentence structure, and that is okay too.
Ayyyee! At 12:15 they're driving through my hometown. It ain't much, but knowing Ken and Buff looked at a glimpse of my small town feels amazing 🥺
Mans really dancing there like he's worshipping her like a goddess and she's embarrassed XD girl have you even been exposed to romance before? Also if you're over 20 you should no longer be embarrasssed about dancing or anything in front of a bunch of strangers. Like they're strangers, only kids care what a stranger thinks. An adult goes home and never sees those randos at the airport again and doesn't give a care. If you're that easily embarrassed when no one you know is even around, you need to get your life together because you're not functioning as an adult. And that's coming from me, who's had anxiety my entire life, and I doubt she's struggling with anxiety just based on her personality and her willingness to be on TV so what's her excuse lol If you're not a child, you have to just stop caring about the opinions of strangers, you can't live like that. Especially at 30 girl, come on...
I definitely want you guys to do this couple again.
Hes literally so sweet. Obviously he's gotta get used to how you raise a child but you gotta give him props for just taking things on as best as he knows how.

I LOVE HIM. I would be so happy for someone to be able to freely express themselves.
"First happy couple I've seen on 90 Day Fiancé"...Just wait.
This guy is so wholesome, take notes guys.
EXACTLY!!!
Honestly, the people there 100% forgot about his dance after like a nap, people have their own problem to worry about rather than a stranger dancing, if anything people support him for doing that, while that being said, i cant blame her for how she reacts toward that dance
Why wasnt my man asuelu there to help catch the elusive yahoooo with the mountain men, dude could probably conjure him on his own.
How's he supposed to know car seat rules, in his country, they probably dont even have to use seat belts! He's so sweet, I dont think I could ever get mad at him
He prob didn't used car which is oki
Those of us who know this couple be like "Well... I wouldn't call them 'happy'," lmao.

Wear a seatbelt woman! If she’s so concerned about how her partner is with their child she should be doing better to make sure she doesn’t kill herself.

Ikr😂😂 camera crew maybe
Because security was afraid of his power.
Because this was probably scripted, just like all reality tv is. 😁
Haka is a traditional dance (I personally love it!) And she should appericate it. Sure, for foreigners in public this could be a bit embarrassing but he shows her love and appreciation in a traditional way.
Yeah, imagine if your parents came to watch you put on a play in school or something. Then the entire time they looked at the wall and the ground because they were embarrassed.
This is the adult equivalent of that, i really think she was rude by not looking at his performance.
Alright, the car scene killed me. She is eating while driving, not wearing a seatbelt, and constantly looking off the road on the highway. Yet her boyfriend safely holding a crying child in his arms is the big danger? Bitch please, you are the danger to your child. Both hands on the wheel, and eyes to the front.
